Can I quit my job and leave Poland, and then come back within 3 months to join another one?

Hi Everyone,

I am anonymous because my work colleagues are here.

I have a EU Blue card that I recieved in Poland at the end of last year. I also have a new job opportunity for which the work permit is under process.

However, for personal reasons, I need to leave Poland and go to my home country (outside EU). There is a possibility though that I might need to come back to join the new job.

My question is if I can do that. Can I leave Poland including the employment here, with the option of coming back and taking the job, considering I have a EU blue card and a new work permit (underway)? If yes, what is the time period where this option is available to me?

Thanks in Advance.

Greeting and salutations, Anonymous.

I can see why you would be:-) Don't know which country you're from, or from what planet,
but the last time I looked, you can't merely up and leave a position, then return calm as you
please after an extended respite, only to join another!!

Boy, you must know the ropes of bribery like nobody's business LOL

From a legal Polish site:

- First of all, a foreigner with a blue card can only start working for an employer indicated in the document. If you change your employer, you must obtain a new blue card.

- An employer employing a foreigner with a blue card must meet the remuneration requirements. The foreigner's salary should be at least 1.5 times higher than the average salary in a given country.

- The employer is obliged to conclude an employment contract for a period of not less than one year. The contract should include information about the position, remuneration and working conditions.

- If a foreigner with a blue card loses his job, he has the right to look for new employment for a period of 3 months. During this time, he or she does not lose the right to stay in the territory of a given country.

- In order to take up work and perform work on the basis of a blue card, a foreigner must have appropriate qualifications and professional experience required for a given position.

This looks the way it appears on paper. However, the actuality, much as elsewhere, particularly the US, is
undoubtedly somewhat different:-)
