Hi,
I have a lot of problems to understand where i need to go and what i need to ask in order to retrieve the most basic and official documents in Poland.

Outside Poland i used to go to the town office and ask them, pay and retrieve.
Does in Poland works differently? If i understood well i need to go to the District office and not to gmina one, i'm right or i miss some details?

I need to retrieve:
family status paper
marriage certificate
birth certificate

Actually i live in a village with 60 souls....
...where i need to go and what i need to ask and have?

[Moved from]: Need some advice in regards to how to obtain a Polish birth certificate

Hi,

The grandfather of my partner was born in Poland in 1919 but we do not have his birth certificate - he emigrated to Australia when he was 30 years old. i know there is a way to obtain in Poland but not sure how.

Has anyone successfully obtained one from the archives?

How about this site?

wikiprocedure.com/index.php/Poland_-_Obtain_a_Birth_Certificate

They say that if you live abroad, you need to apply for it at the nearest embassy.

Obtaining Polish Birth Certificates - where in Poland?

Hi
I am trying to perhaps locate where in Poland I would need to contact to obtain my Mother's Birth Certificate. She was born in 1930 in Woropajewu and left in 1939 due to the war breaking out. I'm literally hitting brick walls. I managed to get a copy of her Baptism certificate from the Belarus archives, but that's all they sent me.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where to go? Many thanks!

Contact the departament of akta zabuzanskie in the civil register office (USC) in Warsaw.
Scroll down for the email optima

Also in many cases the priest was also the civil register so her baptism record might be her birth record.
