Polish Passport without Citizenship confirmation letter

Hi All,

I arrived to Poland via job transfer last year. I have a residency card as well as a PESEL number. A few months ago I applied for confirmation of polish citizenship as right of blood through my mother and also registered my birth in Poland. Would I be able to apply for a polish passport as I possess a PESEL number and a polish birth certificate?

If you've got a Polish birth certificate and a PESEL, go apply for an ID card at the local town hall or do it online.

He asked for a Polish passport and not for an ID.

Once you've got the ID, you can apply for a passport. I didn't need anything other than my ID card and an application form to get a passport.

Obviously, first you must become a Polish citizen to apply for a Polish passport; not vice versa. Some people think that a passport is required to proof your citizenship, but you don't have to own a password for your whole life and still be a valid citizen :)
