I'm sorry guys but neither Ludzie wschodu nor Laleczka z saskiej porcelany is actually full of useful everyday vocabulary. If anyone wants to learn Polish or any other language, choose a genre of music you like. However, a beginner should look for songs with useful vocabulary.
I think it's more about to help to discover some unknown artists and songs in particular language and just enjoy listening the music. The way to get useful vocabulary is a phrase book full of everyday conversations.
kaprys Ive seen but since the author is gone I just wanted to add some songs worth to know in this thread instead to create a new one. Maybe somebody finds sth interesting among these :
Ania Iwanek & Pati Sokół ft. Piotr Cugowski - Miasto Biada - niemaGOtu Michał Gasz & Piotr Rubik - To cała prawda Anna Jantar - Nic nie może wiecznie trwać Urszula - Dmuchawce, Latawce, Wiatr Wilki - Baśka
@spiritus He was amazing. Both the pace of his songs and his diction should make things easy to understand. Dni, których nie znamy is fantastic. Some songs by Czerwone Gitary like Kwiaty we włosach seem good for the purpose of learning for the same reason.
I really appreciate how I am able to hear his lyrics nice and clear.
Check this beautiful ballad from the Polish western (or eastern) Law and Fist from 1960s. Sung by a professional actor with excellent diction. English subs available.
a jeśli mam być szczery, to przyznam, że bardzo lubię stare polskie tango.

here is the Soviet version/rip-off, still immensely popular. it is hard to believe that it was actually also popular among people who ruled USSR at the time. Hey, maybe they only invaded Poland to get their hands on all of these records? I would... I wouldn't, I mean.
