News / Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?! [289]

He soured relations with Russia, Filios

He also warmed relations with the Baltic States, Ukraine and Georgia.

And actually, there was a lot of talk of President Kaczynski trying to warm relations with Russia, especially at this years ceremony. Crow had a link up... Unfortunately, we will never know what he would have done or said...

Did 'milly' do that?

Milly has done nothing in her life to even warrant being put in the same light as Pan President. Just another mediocre.

News / Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?! [289]

don't deserve to be buried at Wawel

Who are you to say that he doesn't deserve to be buried there, laywoman? You are nothing in this world. Kaczynski was someone.

I still think Warsaw would be more appropriate for burial... but I laugh at all these nobodies in the world coming on here to voice their outrage. They simply have some kind of complex, and jealousy that they will be buried in some average, old cemetary.

News / Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?! [289]

Pick the odd one out.

The question is, as you are looking at this as a 3rd party observer at the moment, will there still be as much conflicting ideas on whether Kaczynski was worthy of being buried at the Wawel, in say, 50-100 years? I'm not saying he was, but many of the men buried at the Wawel also had their critics while they were still alive, and opposition. And now? They are all national heros. Kaczynski was interned during Solidarnosc movement, he did a lot during Round Table talks. Many would agree with me to say that 1989 is truly a monumental year in Polish history. Most of us are from that generation, so we may not truly appreciate it, like the next several generations after us. Was Kaczynski then a hero in his own right? I'd say he is.

Lukasz, on the other hand, wouldn't think so, and would declare Lech unworthy if put pressure on the pilots (which isn't even known or may never be known for sure)

So just because of a tragic mistake at the very end, he should be despised?

News / Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?! [289]

extremely.. actually pisses me off

Well, the way I see it... what difference is there between Kings and Presidents? Both leaders of a country.

Second of all, Kaczynski is arguably the first post WW2 president to not have communist ties, and actually go after ingrained commies in the government etc...

Third, he was integral part of Solidarnosc movememnt, great patriot etc...

I mean, there are some kings in Wawel that really did not do that much during a short reign... I still don't agree with him being buried there. Warsaw is much more suitable... but again, I can see the reasoning.

Mongrels are good ;

Are you also one? :)

History / Kaczynski's Legacy [88]

I thank Pan President Kaczynski for the Warsaw Uprising Museum in Warsaw that was built under his reccomendation.

I thank him for injecting some pride, patriotism, and love of tradition back into Poland's youth. (Although many of the youth will tell you they never voted for Kaczynski, or didn't agree with his platform, they cannot deny this, and indeed, I have heard many commend the President for this) Kaczynski may have been rude and upfront sometimes, but I think this in itself is a very unique feature of a politician. Honesty, and the ability to not hide behind a mask. You may criticize him for that, but I thank him for having the guts to do it on an international stage. He always fought for what was best, for Poland, and compromised only when it would be beneficial, unlike true ass kisser Tusk.

Probably first and foremost though, I would say thank you to the President for his work during Solidarnosć. Many people still do not understand how large of a role he played in that movement.

Truly a very good man, and he will be missed in Poland.

But do I think this has earned him a right to be buried in the Wawel Castle? I'm not quite sure of that, because he himself probably would have preferred to be buried in Warsaw, where he was mayor, and where he spent the majority of his adult life.

Many don't remember, but the City of Krakow recently voted no to Kaczynski becoming an honorary citizen of Krakow. It sounds like they are so guilt ridden now, that they have pushed for him to be buried in the Wawel, which is quite idiotic in my mind. You can't undo that disrespect.

News / Is it possible that Polish president was assasinated? If so then, by whom? [921]

Poland is terrible , but its not our fault myth

WW2 is a myth?

I hope you realize what this country has had to go through, and how recently it was. Many of the older generation is paranoid, and rightly so. They have been backstabbed so many times before, do you blame them? You aren't Polish, and you havn't lived there long enough to realize Polish mentality. You westerners always just generalize and like to form a big picture.. A Russian would understand a Pole much easier than a Brit or American.

Kaczynski was not formally invited to Katyn ceremony in first group with Tusk. Putin invited him seperately, with a different party. The weather gets bad, and Kaczynski gets a bit weary, perhaps even paranoid of political implications of him being late, or having to divert, so he puts pressure on the pilot. There is also fear of Putin, and the fact that Kaczynski was invited seperately...

Putin now heads the team of investigators. If you are a 65 year old man who has lived through Soviet times, and have seen it all. What would you conclude?

News / Russian air traffic controllers ignored communication protocol of Polish pilots? [194]

The fact remains is that why a skilled pilot could make such a obvious mistake

Skilled pilot was only 36 years old, and just over 3000 hours flying experience. The other 3 crew members were 34, 35, and 36 I believe.
I don't understand why they had such a young crew on board. There should have been at least 2 crew members over the age of 55, with over 10000 hours flying experience. Would have been better to take pilots from the domestic airline, if need be. I'm sorry, but you simply can't argue that a 36 year old has seen, lived through, flown through more, than a 55+ year old veteran.

News / Polish President Lech Kaczynski and gov officials die in a plane crash in Russia [682]

An interesting obituary by the Economist:

This isn't an obituary.... it is Tusk's own propaganda... Remember Sikorski's wife? She was an editor in the Economist. The whole Economist, is Jewish run, and supports PO

Good thing Poles remember that they elected Kaczynski in the majority. These things seem to be forgotten, and instead, some nit picking on President Kaczynski's character. Above all, he was a patriot who loved his country. That should be first and foremost.

Smell the ashes

You do realize what you are saying? If it becomes at all apparent that there was foul play in all this, it might well start off WW3...

Poland would not let this go unpunished, even if it means total annihalation... I will personally take out my old uniform and take up guerrila tactics in case of invasion.

History / Anger at yet another Polish tragedy [30]

so, the EU has saved Greece once again

Do you realize that it was the EU who put Greece in the position in the first place? It is the agenda of the EU to level each European nation, and to control them financially. They have succeeded in Greece, thats for sure. They have made them dependent like a heroine addict.

I thought you were a Greek?

I'm a half-breed.

History / Anger at yet another Polish tragedy [30]

Sadly, it is only tragedies that seem to bring Poles close in solidarity. Otherwise, we are a bickering nation always fighting each other. We need to learn to strive for the same goals.. A STRONG, UNITED AND FREE Poland...

We'd be fooling ourselves if we thought we were any of these things... Certainly not strong enough in the political landscape. Certainly not united, and certainly not free of dirty EU, NATO, US hands meddling in our affairs...

News / Polish President Lech Kaczynski and gov officials die in a plane crash in Russia [682]

Yeah.. while Putin sets up candles in the church for the grief he saw and crossing himself while Americans do what? Make more "Pollack" jokes

Very good point...

I think that Russian reaction right now is showing their true face... AVerage Russian is disturbed by this incident, and is in solidarity with the Polish nation. Some crazy conspiracy theories will do nothing to dissuade me. When the black box are found, and it turns out that it was pilot error, and pressure to be at the ceremony on time, I will come back and ask where these fools are that blame Russia...

Of course, they will be hiding.

Do these fools even realize what the implications would be for Russia if she did have a hand in this?? This would most certainly lead to horrific violence, and most likely a war of some kind involving multiple countries. You can't kill 100 of a countries elite, and get away with it today, no way in hell.

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [385]

and military virtue in Polish history?

I nominate our two Polish Thermopylae's. Both losses, but both examples of tremendous bravery and utter dedication to Poland.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Zadw%C3%B3rze

The battle was a disaster for the Polish forces defending Zadwórze, in effect they were almost annihilated. However, the 11 hour long fight halted the advance of the whole 6th Cavalry Division for almost 24 hours. This allowed for the strengthening of the defences of Lwów

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Wizna

The symbol of Polish defence was a Captain Władysław Raginis who committed honorable suicide by throwing himself on a grenade.

History / The great mistakes of Poland's history? [216]

Seanus, I don't know where you get your information from, but read up some more on the subject and you'll learn it wasn't all coasting for the German tanks through Polish territory. Cavalry was outmatched, but it still had its uses, especially against infantry divisions.

Do not buy the German propaganda of outright charges with lance against German tank.. Thats just ********.

History / The great mistakes of Poland's history? [216]

Polish uhlans bending over to the mighty panzers is just that, a myth.

The few Polish anti-tank guns (Wz 35) which were used in uhlan divisions, were then copied and manufactured under a different name in Germany. It is just one of a number of examples of Germans copying Polish technology. It performed admirably against German armoured vehicles and tanks. My grandfather, for one, served 17th Wielkopolska Uhlan Regiment, when it disbanded he joined AK. I did not get to meet the man, but I heard stories of how he and his mates would fire off from the wz 35, pierce the armour and later find German tank crews cut up by the ricochet of the bullets. A busted up 7.92 mm bullet can leave a hell of a mess.

If Poles would have had a few more years to develop some of their technologies and fully modernize, Germany would have had a true war on their hands.

the myth of the Polish uhlans bending over to the mighty panzers is just that, a myth.

Actual charging against German tanks is a myth, correct. Polish Uhlans were well versed in how to deal with heavy tanks. Never did the tactic involve outright charging. Rather, uhlans would dismount and use their anti-tank weapons available, or else partially retreat to fight another day if they were outnumbered.

The same day, German war correspondents were brought to the battlefield together with two journalists from Italy. They were shown the battlefield, the corpses of Polish cavalrymen and their horses, alongside German tanks that had arrived at the field of battle only after the engagement. One of the Italian correspondents sent home an article, in which he described the bravery and heroism of Polish soldiers, who charged German tanks with their sabres and lances. Other possible source of the myth is a quote from Heinz Guderian's memoirs, in which he asserted that the Pomeranian Brigade had charged on German tanks with swords and lances.

Love / How to seduce Polish girls: Tips and advice [118]

I usually find a girlfriend of mine (an actual friend), and get her to come out with me to a nice club. I will dance with her, buy her drinks, and even kiss her, and the girls come streaming out. They see that at least one girl can handle an ******* like me, so they get interested. I once made out with my friend, and a complete stranger girl (from Czech)...

ahh, when you are young, anything is possible...

or living in the past forever and being eaten alive by hate?

I am not alive with hate. I have contempt for people like Ksysia, who are deluded and have not opened a history book or done the research themselves. She shouldn't have the authority to create such dillusional threads where some idiot might actually come away with the idea that Poles and Germans were friendly during WW2, through trade, interaction, as she put it, and pass this on to someone else. Who knows, they might even mention it at school if they are stupid like her.

Germany was just a bunch of poor countries.

Should have stayed that way.

After the loss,

You do realize that it was Germany that started the war? You make them out to be some kind of victims... lol! Oh poor poor Germany... Yet, you make no mention of the 6+ milions of Poles and Jews murdered?

think it's good. if they could have a success, so can we.

And who is we..? You are nothing but a volskdeutche. You don't deserve to have Polish citizenship. Go move to Germany.

But the Polish German hatred is a Soviet propaganda

Oh....?? How ingenious!

Which is really rude, since so many people in Poland are mongrels with the Germans

German-Polish mongrel... And only a fraction more intelligent than a dog. That's Ksysia.

I'm actually seriously serious.

Then no use sidestepping the issue any longer. You are 100% and utter moron.
Please keep this verbal vomit away from PF. I don't ever want to read another post come from you. You are dilluded, and a sick , sick person. Seek help.
