But they don't send us gas :) They don't use full capcity of Jamal gas pipe line. :) Maybe it is cheaper but nof for Poland. Now they want some changes in contracts.

We don't know who is to blame, Ukraine or Russia. So, let not pretend that we know...

OK, it lacks the desirable features but it is beautifully situated and is not far from Azerbaijan.

Only Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan would be interesting. Even Americans cannot deal with them. These states have too much in common with Russia and you cannot change it.

You overestimate Russian resources, costly and coming from an unstable supplier.

Russian resources are well documented and the cheapest on the market.

Please... They were talking the same 15 years ago, 10 years ago and 5 years ago. They are liars.

Germany is going to become a place of redistribution and from there Russia will work to make us totally dependent on its resources

Poland doesn't use so much of oil or gas to be worried. We should not change this and finally start to use own resources. This is necessary to stop babbling about global warming and don't reduce involvement of coal. Nuclear and geothermal energy and working on technology of gasification of coal underground, these are our task. Absolutely nothing was done in this direction.

Its still cheaper but its getting more and more expensive quickly gaining on market prices, its a question of few short years.

This is only your speculation, Russia have interest to be the cheapest on the market.

Georgia has nothing but sand? Eh, air bases?????

This is issue of NATO not energetics.

Mountains, temperate rainforest, vineyards, palm trees, glaciers, ancient buildings and stuff. Geologically it's quite a varied place.

So, perhaps they will attract some tourists if this region become more stable. Oil and gas is missing and this would be our interest in this state.

Norway, Poland, Georgia, increased use of nuclear power.

You overestimate Norwegian resources, costly resources.

You cannot blame Germany that Poland don't use its own resources or blocking nuclear plants.

Georgia have nothing but sand.

Russian resources are no longer cheap and the price is growing and sources such as Norway are safer, there's no guarantee ever.

If Russian oil would not be cheap then Orlen and Lotos would be more active in searching other suppliers.

I really wonder why you then shoot so often against an "undemocratic" EU, it should be your cup of tea..

I don't worship democracy in any form for sure, neither other kind of political systems. Every system have its advantages and weaknesses, this is never aim itself. Anyway I do criticize the EU because they are not democrats indeed, while they always claim opposite.

Furthermore, I recognize superiority of direct democracy over representative democracy. People who participate in the first model can at least learn from their own mistakes, so quality of their choices should improve with generations. Representative democracy is a scam, people decide about nothing, learn nothing and additionally they are oppressed by growing bureaucracy.

However let back to our historic issue. Do you deny that after WWI all these national republics turned to be dictatorship regimes (mostly pathetic, might I add)?

Well Russians and Germans play in one team.

Why is Polish international policy based on opposing to Russia?

For the same reason why Russian foreign policy was so concentrated on the Baltic states. Politicians must turn attention of the masses away from themselves.

After WWII your beloved representative democracy brought Hitler and plenty of dictatorship regimes in newly created national republics, including Poland. How can you still defend Wilson's system when we already know tragic outcome?

PS: Unified Germany now has one of the highest living standards of the world without being a military super power...go figure!

Small states are always more efficient, compare GDP per capita of smaller and bigger states in western Europe or in Central Europe. German centralized state is already socialistic and will face consequences whether you like it or not. German economy had 'crisis' already before problems in the US appeared. I have not intention to argue with you about this issue, I know that you are a socialist and such people never listen anyway.

Beside of that your attitude is silly, you seems to have a personal mission to show German politics always in good light. Unlike myself, I hate when Polish politicians are wrong and I do criticize them sharply, very often.

What...independence and self determination for the Poles but not for the Germans???

First of all I'm not great supporter of national self-determination in general. However these German duties would be independent and ruled by legitimate rulers. German lands have long history of being organized in such mood and somehow they managed to develop nicely, better than any centralized big state. So, how could you suspect that I wish bad for Germans? You prefer higher living standard of average citizen or perhaps care only about being European military superpower?

Today I support the idea of one but highly decentralized Polish state. One state, just because of external security.

If Germany would be divided then they would not have opportunity to vote.

around 1/3 of the Germans voted for his party and alot of their promises were about this Treaty and his fight against it!

German state lost the war, so if they expected a reward then indeed must feel disappointed. At that time Germany should be divided to many small duties. Local dukes would not allow people like Hitler to spread their BS.

How much reparations German state paid?
Unwillingness to confirm Polish western border raised German hopes up.
Ruined state was allowed to arm itself very quickly, despite they saw radical Hitler.
German army crossed demilitarized zone and nothing happened.
Later no reaction about Austria and selling out Czechoslovakia.

Everything lead to WWII.

Well... Poland should be offered Eastern Prussia and Gdańsk as well. This would stop plans of German expansion to the east in longer run. British PM is to blame here, he considered Poland to be French ally... While the French are responsible for too soft policy towards Germany after Versailles.

Wasn't it Dmowski who dreamed already before WWII of a only-Poles Poland???

General rule of treaty of Versailles was to create national states. Mainly because of Wilson.

Modern doesn't mean of good quality. Anyway there is no sense to talk about masses, world was always pushed forward by elites. Simply our current elites are of very poor quality and this is the problem with the EU. Very bad construction build by intellectual zeros .

They also claimed to be anti-EU to got more votes from EU sceptics. In fact they do everything what eurocrats expect them to do. Today's politicians are very far from idealistic ideologies, demagogy is widespread and everything they care is re-election and cash.

Just prevention, something that should not be spoken publicly by Polish officials. Poland have no interest to stir up any tensions and certainly should be keep out from involvement in military conflicts. Nuclear weapon or possibly other kind of weapon with similar power is the best guarantee of peace.

You are asking the impossible, lesser. They are in bed with America and can't see that they are being used.

Don't forget about their willingness to build EU army.

Since almost every continent has nuclear weapons who could wipe out the planet of earth in less then 1 hour.

Continents have not any nuclear weapons but some states, Poland is not among them. However I agree, this is waste of cash if our politicians would spend too much on conventional army. Our potential enemies (in longer perspective) are as usual Germany and Russia, the latter already have nuclear weapons. Germany would join them quickly if they will need. Polish politicians should for once proof me wrong and finally show that they are not completely useless corrupt sellouts.

Life / Importance of Religion in Poland [187]

Among Catholics there is many people who know little about Catholicism. Of course higher awareness would be great, however there is line that some cannot cross. How little people know about economy, while we don't demand books on this subject to be burned. I belong to those old-fashioned people whom prefer quality over number but I don't expect from average person to have knowledge equal to professor of economy.

As far as we talk about pure believe, there is little sense to discuss why you chose one over other. There is no scientific evidence to refer. That is why people mostly continue family traditions. However those smarter should raise above them and analyse sociological consequences of choosing certain denomination. I did this and I see the Catholic church to be the best guarantee of reason.

Anyway, if you really consider him to be German, then he must be also awful traitor of German nation. Right? :) I read that German National Socialists also claimed that Copernicus was 'purely German'. I fail to understand why they wanted such a traitor of 'Germanic race' being recognized 'German'. :)
