Presidfent KAczyński equated Katyń with genocide because "Polish officers were killed just because they were Polish officers".

According to definition provided above, Katyn was genocide. Anyway Kaczynski is a double faced twat willing to run endless historic policy. Why double faced? Because he used to completely ignore other genocide committed by Ukrainian OUN-UPA on Poles from Wolyn and Podole. The number of murdered is much higher and in opposition to Soviets they butchered everybody from a child to old people. Unlike Putin who don't worship people who committed genocide, Yushchenko building monuments to commemorate them! Of course Kaczynski supposedly so sensible about history prefer to ignore everything. This behaviour proof him to be a double faced liar with anti-Russian agenda.

Anyway this is not up to parliament to vote over history. This is just populist bread for politically ignorant voters.

No, question was not asked openly from obvious reasons. Why not ask them openly, after all they are supposed to share your opinion, so there is no risk.

I suggest to ask Polish citizens whether they want resign from independence. Why not to ask them openly if you think that this is their opinion?

I"ve met some of them and they told me they were Germans and spoke German to me too.

Maybe they were simply expelled Germans. I live in Gdansk and have Kashubian roots myself but I never meet such German Kashubians.

Not exactly. Pseudo-elites give them opportunity to speak out when they feel that their option win. Then they hide behind "will of people". Otherwise they don't ask people or ignore their choices. This is elementary knowledge about representative democracy in action.

You cannot blame ignorant crowd because they are ignorant, this would be a waste of time. How on earth such people are allowed to decide about crucial state issues, here is a problem.

Sorry dear friend but ironic comment, this the best thing that could come from my keyboard when I see you telling me (among others) that I should be grateful because in your opinion German state did the most to impose on Poland this disgusting regime based in Brussels. I should be grateful because some foreign states financed huge propaganda campaign aimed to attract (not convince! feel the difference!) ignorant crowds to back this flawed project? No thanks! :)

So would such an alliance be a bad or a good thing, opinions?

Even if such alliance would win the war I think that Poland would be weaker. At best I think that Hitler would annex Silesia and whole Pomerania, Poland would lost access to the Baltic Sea. Poland would be expanded in the east, gain more Ukrainian lands. Population of Ukrainians would be too big to swallow them, Ukrainian nationalism would be on rise. This effect would seriously destabilize the state. Such state would be just a German proxy.

However I think that Hitler was insane to such extend that this could turn even worse for Poland.

To put it frankly, they may have agreed on boycotts of Jewish goods, and I can also see Dmowski passing purity laws, but I can't ever imagine Dmowski setting up extermination camps.

Because Dmowski was not a racist! He objected the Jews from other reasons. I see very little of similarities between NSDAP and SN. Name some if you can.

Not really he had quite a good shot at defeating Russia, he failed but thats not really Russias doing, mostly it was his own fuck ups.

It was great opportunity to defeat Soviet Union and restore Russian monarchy. Of course territorially smaller, without Central Asia, Caucasus, Baltic states and perhaps even eastern Ukraine. However Hitler was too deluded to think rationally. If someone else would run Germany...

We always manage "nicely" thank you but you also don't seem to know about our movement to unify.

I guess neither Johann Wolfgang von Goethe could understand. Apparently he is one of those stupid Germans. During my readings I discovered that his views on this subject are much closer to mine than to yours!

If anything, then PiS want to discredit Marcinkiewicz who could be potentially on the election list of PO being still popular among people. However Marcinkiewicz already discredited himself, you know he certainly has "soda water effect". Still, currently he has nothing to do with PO. Personally I doubt that PO want him.

I know little about economy but even if Marcinkiewicz had anything to do with it, he will never admit to it. Judging by his latest media presence, all he is interested in is fame at any cost.

Marcinkiewicz merely have any idea about banking sector or economy. His carrier in this sector started only because Kaczynski wanted to get rid of him from media attention. Somehow pathetic taste of many Polish voters find this guy to be "charming" and according to them this is enough to vote on such person! :) Kaczynski was afraid of being overshadowed by Marcinkiewicz. (I mean just PR, not political accomplishments)

Later Marcinkiewicz was sent to London despite that his English was rather pathetic and experience in this sector almost none. Clearly political decision. From this time banks from private sector are willing to be in touch with him (still popular politician, promising prospect for important post in the future).

This is ridiculous to blame him that his advices lead to profits for Goldman Sasch on the cost of Poland. Firstly, because he has little idea about the subject. Secondary, because Goldman Sasch has plenty specialists, people whom really know something about this sector.

Personally I find Marcinkiewicz to be very small and disgusting person. However I must admit that he has a lot of luck, incidental PM and incidental banker. In the same way how he was not real PM (Kaczynski was guiding from behind), he is not advisor for any bank. This is all about politics and stinks of corruption mile away.

That is wrong. This 50% is owned by "private businessmans" from Ukraine.

Yes, I confused structure of ownership with UkrGazEnergo company (50% RosUkrEnergo, 50% Naftogaz). These are all political structures. Anyway, this don't change much.

The point is such localization hasn't been done yet, and doing them was not included in Nord Stream project.

Thus I have wrote before that such strategy might even block this project. But this is technologically absolutely possible.

I see that you are natural enviroment expert as well .... What is sure alternativie rout is less dangerous from this point of view. What is more it is cheaper and doesn't cause so many political tensions.

I'm not an expert but I'm aware that we live in XXI century. This is absolutely possible to localize and avoid dangerous areas. Incredible amount of stupidity would be needed to put a pipe directly on some barrel of poison!

To be honest you pretend to be politician I remember you proclaiming political program.

I have some vision of our state but I'm not a politician.

I bet those two Ukrainians are pulling the strings now, yeah, that's for sure! *smirk*

How do I know? These are some very shady Russian-Ukrainian deals. My point is that Polish side should not automatically assume that this is Russia to blame. They signed contract with RosUkrEnergo and they might sue this company.

You all should remember that Tymoshenko way before orange revolution was named to be "Gas princess". She made a fortune at that time, she know something about this business. I think, I don't need to add that she needed to be involved in such shady deals as well.

It is clear that Nord Stream would be catastrophe for natural enviroment and for Polish safty.

What a nonsense. :) It is absolutely possible to build it without causing any catastrophes. Of course this is good tactic to maybe even stop this project. However we are not politicians, so we should be more honest.

Lukasz, all you can do is just whining about bad Russia and bad Germany without any objectivity. You really should consider joining PiS.

You're right we dont use gas, we're cooking our meals by burning our socks, of course Poland uses lots of gas! Our energy grid is mostly coal based but our heating is gas based, we could never cover our own needs via coal only.

If you would be interested in this subject then you would know that Poland's usage of gas is small in comparison with western European states or Ukraine. Ukraine heating system is based on gas, Polish in opposition to your claims is based on coal (even in Gdansk!). This is cheaper solution.

I dont know who are "they" but i know that in the march of previous year financial time had a large article together with juicy statistics showing how russian gas is getting more and more expensive for the last 3 years and how its bound to reach and exceed the market price sometime 2012-2013.

Private companies of chemical industry in Poland are not interested to buy much more expensive gas from Norway. Polish state should not subsidy them and according regulations of the EU such subsidies are forbidden. These are facts and time for home-grown geopolitical strategist to accept reality.

Gazprom own 50% of RosUkrEnergo, the rest is owned by Naftogas Ukraine. While the author blame just Gazprom, RP is a mouthpiece of PiS. Gazprom don't own or control Ukrainian pipeline system. Gazprom might claim that they already send this gas, while we signed contract with RosUkrEnergo. We, still don't know who is to blame.
