Glad to see this thread still going!

Not changed my opinion one bit, both Ireland and the UK are changing their countries names to Fatland, in just 8 years the proportion of fat girls has gone from 20% to 35%!

Nope, not idiotic......there was a whole district in Detroit were there are dozens of fine detached houses, all empty, slowly decaying, in an area no-one wanted to live.....so I've no doubt the bank, thought it a good way to get publicity to off load a house for $1 just to get in the news etc.......its true value was more.....but the reckon....only worth 10-20K dollars!

Its all about location, location, location......plus in a hugely negative market and over supply.....the buyer is king....called capitalism!

Sortof......looking to see what the locals are wearing.....;)....PLUS according to the forecast the good weather will peak at 55 Fahrenheit on one of the days we are there.....a rise of 20 degrees in 4 days.....lol

Yes, Dell has been in Ireland for 16 yrs, its just the end of this part of the economic cycle, the Irish priced themselves out of the market and at the worst possible time....a global recession .....nothing new there!

The wages lost to Limerick/Irish economy directly is around E140 millions.

It would be interesting to know what the wages are at the new Polish plants?

Just remember Dell will remain in Poland until they move to the next new EU low cost base....you have been warned, enjoy the work whilst you can!

Remember......all is fair in love and war.......and business too!!!

Now this is LOL...............yet another EU country who refused your people entry to their country to work, plus there have been numerous articles about those who went illegally being abused, held against their will, not being paid and deprived of their belongings whilst there???!!!

Nice to see an "echo" of my original post....very succintly put too.....piwo as they say in downtown Praga.......but only if you're in a group and its before 10pm...:)

I sent a small package to Warsaw from London on the 1st May...it hasn't arrived yet, am I to assume its been lost or worse stolen? It was sent standard rate, not insured or of high value.

Which end of the postal services has the worst reputation, UK or Poland?

Experiences and comments welcomed.

tornado2007...I did qualify.....my overall post, not claiming they are the best or ALL are the most beautiful, but a general view, based on my experiences and other guys....Polish women could teach the "fancier" Western girls a thing or two........
