@jon357
I've only heard one. I liked it a lot.

The Firebird

I love it. Especially in the ballet, preferably danced by Maria Bulanova.

AntV- If you're going to recommend a humoresque, go with Dvorak's

Beautiful piece. More popular than Shchedrin's. I'd have to say think they're different but equal.

Jon, you know many Russian Soviet composers hated the Soviet times, don't you? You can't really criticise someone for being Russian. It's like criticising someone for being a woman or old or young, it isn't a choice.

jon357-Too r*ssian

A composer's music goes far beyond their nationality.

When you've got Chopin, why lower standards?

Because Chopin, though my personal favourite composer, didn't compose infinite pieces, and there are other genius composers also. Of course, Chopin is still the best :).

Why does no one feel sorry for the others, who can never reach Chopin's level?

@Miloslaw
To (indoctrinate) save your soul, you might like some pieces by Stravinsky and Mussorgsky. And I'd recommend to even people who hate classical Shchedrin Humoreske, just because it's perfection in music form.

I know it's a "bad opinion" , I just can't stand his awful music! It makes me feel physically sick! I'll be murdered for that!

I have, recently. I like it a lot, very interesting it is.

@Lyzko
Absolutely.
Chopin always had more popular contemporaries, for some reason, but he was always the best. He still is probably the best composer to ever live.

That sounds like a wonderful experience! I only know one thing related to Chopin better than hearing, playing Chopin. There's even a ballet set to Chopin, Les Sylphides.

@Miloslaw
That isn't really difficult? About as hard as having better port de bras than Anna Nikulina!
I think of Jim as being like a child. He can be annoying, but isn't worth talking to. He's officially an adult, but he hasn't learned the world doesn't move around him. It's really funny how he completely changed everything he thought about me because I called him an idiot.

The really obvious thing is, why would an old poster come back under a new name? And why would I
Create an extensive knowledge of ballet.
Learn several languages.
Spend months making an online persona.
Etc., etc.
Just to troll Jim? I don't care about him enough to do that. I forget about him every time I go off PF, as with you or Pawian, or any poster.

This Lazarus he's calling me is still here! Last post 2nd of June!

Miloslaw- he does it with all new posters

Hopefully he won't suck the new one, I think called Neczypor, in. I've already warned him/her.

Oh. He left for a good reason, I suppose. From what I've researched, I'm not really a fan of Delph, though it's hard to tell without interacting.

Miloslaw- Yeah, like you. LOL!!!

His "Russian" is really more offensive than funny. He uses Google Translate on his best days.

@Joker
Oh my god! That's ridiculous! Maybe if Delph wanted to come back he would come under his own name? Why would I have been nice to Jim at first if I was his enemy? I feel sorry for him. He seems sad, and self hating.

Look at this naive post!

RussianAntiPutin- What's wrong with Johnny Reb?

How could I be so stupid?
I don't hateJohnny like some here. I think he needs to educate himself and work on himself.

He's an awful poster. I remember he sucked me in with fake charm at first, but then changed everything he thought about me because I said he was being an idiot. I thought I was the only one who noticed that, although I didn't know about him copying Paulina.

He keeps calling me "Delph", which is hilarious considering this Delph, who I looked up, is nothing like me and joined when I was 2 years old.

I have a list of one, Jim. I wonder how good PF will be when I don't have to see him, though he'll probably be off of my mute soon.

@johnny reb
I do, unlike you. And I am not this Delph. Why do you call me Delph?

Mods, don't you think Johnny Reb should be banned? He's clearly not contributing anything to the forum, and if you think it's worthwhile to suspend Novichok, why not Johnny Reb?

Who else thinks Jim should be banned?
Why the " hoot" thing as well? He's more of a parrot than a an owl.

History / POLISH AND RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP WILL LAST FOREVER [513]

@jon357
That can be changed though, without ripping Russia apart. But Russia as itself isn't inherently "dangerous and malign" ( what on earth is "malign"??).

@mafketis
I can't imagine no Russia. What would I call myself, St. Petersburgian? What mini country would you make Petersburg? What would happen to Russian ballet, Russian art, Russian music? Subdivided? How would the ballet world survive? How would people live without Russia? It can't become different countries, Russia is Russia. I can't imagine not being Russian because there is no Russia.

jon357- but could it truely happen?

That, jon, is exactly the problem.

Miloslaw- smaller independent states

I don't think thats good idea at all. Russia should stay Russia, just different political rule.

History / POLISH AND RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP WILL LAST FOREVER [513]

jon357- So your conclusion is that Russia should be defeated and divided

No. My conclusion is that some kind of honest people should be able to get to the top, or Russia has to be changed externally. What I mean by this is that outside help from another country would help Russia to change for the better. A bit revolution can just make things even worse, look at the revolution last century. Stalin came of that. Most of all, anyone considering or making change should be careful. Of course, my talking is basically preaching - I'm not going to do anything that could tarnish my career in ballet.

And you can say Russia, it isn't dangerous.

Would you die for politics? Because in a situation like that, death would be inevitable. Most likely, whoever started it would be killed or become a brutal leader or be chased out of Russia.

History / POLISH AND RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP WILL LAST FOREVER [513]

@Paulina
It just won't happen though. No one wants to be the first, even if they don't like the way Russia is run. It's too dangerous. You can end up killed, imprisoned, poisoned, anything. And even some of the ones who hate, for example, the corruption, benefit from it. For example, well there are a few already who have them, I know this girl, in my class at Vaganova, she is extremely anti-Putin, anti-corruption, etc., even religious. She has a patron, at the age of 16. This might sound innocent to an outsider, but having a patron in Russian ballet is basically prostitution. The patron bribes the people at the top of the ballet circles to give good roles, positions, etc., in exchange for sex.

My point is, it just won't happen unless honest people get to the top. Everyone else is too scared or doesn't want to for another reason. But with the risks, can you really blame people for not changing things? It's basically suicide.

@mafketis
Russia isn't a third world country. And what I am meant to do? I am just existing, not to harm anyone or do anything wrong. But, anyway, anyone who doesn't like it can leave, I can leave if I want in the future. No, I don't like corruption, but what can I do? In fact, I hate corruption, I wish things were fairer. Look at the Mariinsky Ballet, as an example of something poisoned by corruption, see the dancers they have in low ranks who are better than even the principals. That isn't fair or right, but who can change it? The people at the top can, an ordinary person can't. It's really that simple.

@mafketis
It's normal in Russia, I meant. Sorry if I wasn't clear, I know other countries arent that corrupt. It's weird to think that there are countries without extreme corruption, to me, because it just seems normal.
