News / Famous Polish writer prosecuted for free speech [71]

Tell that to the prosecutor/publicist...

Your "famous" Polish writer as the defendant is the one who has to make his case for breaking the law.

And Poland's getting pretty bad press today too...

Well, then it's a good enough reason for you to start packing and leave. And don't worry, no one will notice you are gone.

he's that famous I never heard about him

He is only famous in the mind of the OP. The same OP who is British and gets excited about hashtags trending on Twitter. A platform used mostly by middle aged white women in America who vote Democrat.

guaranteed fee speech

You could never command speaking fees.

Anyway, Article 54 of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland already guarantees freedom of expression.

And in 2021 it has been PiS which has been championing free speech by working on legislation to ensure that social media companies don't delete content or ban users who are not breaking Polish laws.

So what's the point of this latest PiS bashing thread of yours anyway?

We Poles may disagree with each other but there is still an expectation of decorum for the benefit of social cohesion.

Again, this is alien to you because you are British and come from a low trust society due to the corrosive anti-social behavior which is so commonplace in your British homeland.

Commenting on politicians is "anti-social behaviour" to you?

This so-called "famous" Polish writer wasn't critiquing policy.

He made a defamatory personal attack.

Nothing. Nor does the CDC, nor do any far away foreign agencies. They're half a world away and have crises of their own.

The smug ignorance displayed on this forum is simply breathtaking at times.

Poland strikes deal to produce Novavax COVID-19 vaccine

"Polish biotech firm Mabion said it had signed a framework agreement with Novavax for the transfer of the U.S. company's COVID-19 vaccination technology."

money.yahoo.com/poland-strikes-deal-produce-novavax-114227151.html

So while the trolling British expat community lives in its tiny ageing marginalized social bubble hoping for the beer gardens to reopen the Polish decision makers in Poland are assuredly in active discussions with US government officials and biotechnology boardrooms to make things happen and get things done.

asking for test data is blasphemy and the asker is a denier.

Today's left is often compared to a cult because the characteristics are so similar.

But unlike a cult the doctors and scientists have been shielded in legislation from any liability regarding the vaccines.

If they worked as claimed then such protections shouldn't be needed.

in this hysterical dystopia, we're told to get shots and mask up still

Yep, that's why many people sense something is not on the up-and-up with everything.

Leftists keep bleating to "just trust the science" but many aren't.

Unsurprisingly, I recently heard bureaucrats are now trying to get religious leaders to convince the communities they serve to get vaccinated. So, literally, it's turning into a leap of faith.

A says no to vaccines, therefore, B must mask up.

People are opposed to vaccine certifications/passports so anyone can say they were vaccinated when they actually were not.

There is also nothing stopping a business or jurisdiction from refusing to recognize any proof of someone being vaccinated or rejecting the type of vaccine administered.

Months ago some doctor (not Fauci) was hailing the new vaccines because the regular flu vaccine was only 40% effective.

This was news to me since every year there was a flu shot campaign but no one ever would say they didn't have much efficacy anyway.

Today everyone is insisting on wearing a mask and shaming those who object.

But tomorrow everyone will be complaining about them for other reasons:

Check out Paul calling him out on this ( with facts)

It was funny watching Fauci getting so uncomfortable and annoyed with having to explain himself for once.

Paul is correct for calling this "theatre"

That's the right word for it.

Clearly he is too used to having the celebrity treatment from the MSM where his responses to all the softball questions sound like they practiced in advance. No surprise really. After all it came out when Hillary ran against Trump that she got questions and topics ahead of time from CNN for a debate they were hosting.

Im in No hurry and I had the virus last year.

I read recently that for the two dose vaccines there is debate now if the second one is really needed for those who were previously infected since they already have the antibodies.

I also read recently that the vaccines themselves may not be needed at all:

What is that telling the American people ?

As you know these vaccines only got emergency use approval. None are formally FDA approved.

No one knows how long they are good for and ultimately the longterm effects they will have on people.

People who have been vaccinated are still required to wear masks "to protect others" who haven't been.

No such guidance was ever put out during any annual flu season in the past.

People are keenly aware too of the manufacturers' published "effectiveness" of all the various types of vaccines and this is also causing mistrust.

Poland Teachers Get AstraZeneca Jab Amid Distrust

"As Poland began vaccinating teachers...with the AstraZeneca vaccine...some had misgivings about being put in line for a vaccine they believe is less effective than the others...pointing out that medical workers and the elderly were given different jabs."

You really don't know anything about Ireland, do you?

I know everything that needs to be known about Ireland.

an ancient tradition

So why didn't you stay and preserve one yourself?

Oh, that's right, you have other personal priorities while still expecting Ireland to remain a Skansen in order to keep your fond memories alive.

None of them are going to place a lit candle in a window hoping you return someday for a brief visit.

You moved on and so has all of Ireland. Deal with it.

They don't drink. How sad for the pub owners!

Exactly. It would have happened even without a pandemic.

So the buildings can be converted. It's already been happening and making Ireland a top destination for sophisticated cosmopolitan palates.

It's a serious problem for many.

LOL!

The problem in Ireland was solved a long time ago: Brits out! Migrants in!
