Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

I love many things here in Poland. Christmas, family life in villages, traditions, neighborhood, nature, some foods, transport in city, more natural and fresh fruits&vegetables than Western EU, the weather in summer. What I do not love, the weather in winter, express ways, queue in Biedronka, the price of spicy pepper :), high-cost apartments (accommodation).

Whats pity is that anyone has not informed me till now about the law. Thanks!

Travel / Poland - never again [593]

As I mentioned above there are serious problems in the US. How do you relate Poland with restaurants?

Why do some people generalise? I really cannot understand. It does not make a sense. Even as an American citizen you cannot generalise whole America. There are for sure other parts of the country that you have not seen before.

Well. Firstly, Patriotism is about a feeling and not simply about pledging allegiance to a state/nation. There are two forms of patriotism: the intelligent patriotism, and blind patriotism. However, there is a deficit of Nationalism in the USA. In fact, American people consider themselves superior to others. This is pathetic. Morever, People that cant take criticism well simply means that their ego is not permitting them to look at the issue.

I do not understand why people compare two different countries. Its never ending story... Every country has its own rules, life-style, traditions, and so on. Anyway but as far I see from the comments some members here like kaprys are too patriotic... Come on you guys need to be more open-minded. BTW I do not agree with the OP. Poland is a developed country and at the same time a huge country. Of course there are some problems. If you search problems you may always find them. Nothing is flawless.

@Rich Mazur

As far I see from your comments you just want to complain anything you see. Come on could not you find a different topic to discuss? Restroom? WTF?

Violent crime in the U.S. has fallen sharply over the past quarter century. There are much more serious problems in the US

UK, Ireland / Letter from Polish Prosecutor??!! [34]

If I remember well in Denmark you can check online if there is a case. It might be fine same system in Poland. People would not need to worry then before come to Poland.

Law / Ways of getting Permanent residency in Poland [101]

Proof of income for 5 years or before the application? Lets say a person has been living here for 5 years and 4 years has no proof of income (family support) and last year found a job and works within the country? There is chance to apply for it?

Law / The Difference Between Border Guard And Municipal Police in Poland [15]

@dolnoslask

Yes, Im legal of course and I hold a permanent residence card. To be honest after 7 years first time they controlled me at public and this was happened exactly when I visited my wifeys family for easter. Thats why I was surprised. They asked me many detailed questions. Maybe its because they could not have found at the house where Im registered recently.

@G (undercover)

Yes, intercity/bus connections. But where I have been to is a very small city and there is no border closed to the city. My wifeys mom want to seperate us so thats the only reason I wondered do they control randomly or someone called to control me.

Thanks for the promt responses.

Law / The Difference Between Border Guard And Municipal Police in Poland [15]

In fact, I was controlled by border police today. (They were aware of my going) and would like know do they check people when they receive a calling ? Im sure my wifeys family called them (they want to seperate us) but do not know what was the reason. I do not like judge people before Im sure. So its possible they will call and border police will check me specially? Its a pity I have been living here for 7 years for the first time I was controlled at public.
