That's precisely why I don't have a problem with the Latino migrants comign to the USA within reasonable numbers. Unlike say the muslims or blacks coming into Europe, the Latinos actually come here to work, not with the goal of leeching as much off government benefits and welfare leaving the citizens to foot the bill. Also, by large they aren't the ones driving the murder and violent crime rates here - that'd be the blacks in the US according to FBI stats. The Latinos take all the jobs that white people don't want to do anymore. The most vocal ones against immigration are often the ones who made a career out of blue collar trade like say construction, landscaping, auto repair or whatever and can't adapt to the times. For the more entrepreneurial, it's a huge opportunity. You go into a small business whether it's a restaurant, construction company, manufacturing business, body shop, etc. in any major city and it's the Latinos doing the low wage grunt work.


That's because Americans are lazy and way to expensive for what they do. The reputable companies owned by Americans especially like the Irish and Italian guys tend to do nice work but they charge a lot and many of them have a ton of Mexicans and even Polish doing the work. Now though like with our company the Polish guys do the more detailed, fine touch work like laying tiles, installing cabinets, installing countertops, etc. while the Mexicans do the prep work - demolition, drywall, painting, etc. They don't quite have that touch to do real precise high end work that many wealthy home owners demand.

My parents' generation and to a lesser extent my generation are going to be the last generation of "Polish contractors" in the US, that's for sure. One of our family friends runs an insurance company specializing in workers comp and insurance for contractors, real wealthy Polish guy made a lot of money starting his insurance company and catering to the Polish contractors, well he said about 1/2 of the contracts he had on the books compared to 10 years ago either retired, closed their business, moved to another state, moved back to Poland, etc. and very rarely do their kids run the business after them.

I've been working in sales since I was 18 and I love it - the thrill of closing a deal, making a nice commission check, clients love seeing you when you stop by, traveling, wine and dining clients, and no two days are really the same as with most office type jobs. Plus if you know your **** the clients really value your time since you're acting as a consultant helping to improve their business.

I also make some money on the side doing home remodeling, flipping cars, and some other side hustles. A lot of Polish people are in the construction trades, but not so much the millennials and younger generations. I was part of that last generation that didn't mind working with their hands but the younger Poles avoid those jobs like the plague even though they tend to pay far better than your average corporate 9-5.
