News / UK to send tanks to Poland. [36]

I'm with Crow and Nathans here, sending English tanks would only liken an incentive for an invasion if there was any intention too. How does it look like? Does Poland lack the capabilities to handle there own military patrol and weaponry? No, I think not. Be honest Its a long way before any WW3, and if it were these are the little things that trigger it.

But I guess Poland going along with the western allies game getting dragged into their wars Western allies must offer some token, however a few little tanks running along the borders not going to offer much protection in the long and short run.

So I think they should just keep their tanks, just make sure to actually show up next time if another world war happens, that would be nice.

USA, Canada / 15 hr. motion on a minimum wage. (USA) [16]

So when you sit home on your dead ass sucking off welfare and demand to have high speed internet ($3 a day).

This is very true, Internet is available at your local library if you need it, cabel T.V is a waste of time, Phones should be for calling/texting, Cigarettes are good for cancer, beer should only be after a hard days work or on the weekend, weed is illegal, buying weed is funding criminal gang activity that puts people at risk.

To be honest out of all that, the only thing I need is a standard phone so I can contact clients and family, no smart phone. But again I am a student and not sitting on welfare.

We all can't be doctors and should get paid according to our capabilities and if that is $7.50 an hour and it isn't enough to
pay the bills get a second job so you can. Those are the work ethics that built this great nation.

Maybe not everyone can finish university, but college (in the Canadian sense) is very much doable. Or at least do a trade, easily over 15$ an hour and much better then fast food/retail etc.

Off-Topic / Which western European country would assimilate more Poles and other Slavs in next 50 years? [12]

Which western European country would assimilate more Poles and other Slavs in next 50 years?

Neither. There will be no Western European culture to assimilate in. West embraces multiculturalism, now unless you follow crappy pop culture, there is no way in hell you can assimilate in a multicultural society.

He he. Tell that to Putin

Exactly, the end is not near, I feel it will be time for Slavs to prosper and take on role as global leaders in the next 50 years, all we need is to co-operate with one another. be nice to Putin :)

yes. We can spot many indications

Don't underestimate us Slavs ;)

UK, Ireland / Curious about differences Polish people see with the British? [95]

They may be smiley, polite and pleasant on the surface but it's all an act, particularly with the English.

I am no fan of the British but I think you being a bit harsh, although if I judged all British based on the ones writing on this forum I would think they are the most rude snobby stuck ups, still it's a shame because its really just a few bad apples on here and I notice many Brits are normal.

Travel / Quality of life, women in Poland vs here in America - Is 14 days too long to stay there for holiday? [6]

Am thinking of staying 14 days in Poland in springtime of next year. My main purpose is a fact-finding mission

In my opinion I feel that is too short for an anthropological study. I also figure that you need someone close by with you that knows the place to show you around as you still need to learn the language, to tell you about good places to live, things to do, job/market etc. maybe bring along a relative or friend. I feel things are much more interesting if you have someone to tag along to share the experience with.

You should do it, it will be fun.

History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

Why? I simply wrote that Romania as a state never did anything bad to Poland.

Sure, why would they need to? Same goes for any other nation that has not done anything bad to Poland

Could posters focus on the fact that the thread concerns Germans and Russians please. A new thread can always be started if you wish to focus on Poles and Romanians.

History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

It was the historical Principality of Moldavia that took part in the Deluge.

Both Walachia and Moldova, two of the three (third one being Transylvania, that one was more Hungarian then anything) founding principalities that make up modern day Romania, with Moldova carrying heavy Slavic influence.

It isn't "false", since Romania didn't exist back then and I wrote about Romania, not Romanians.

Well in this way you must separate the nation from the state

Interesting note is Romania was Poland's original ally back in WW2 when they shared a border. Romania soon join with the NAZI's (for protection as they feared a Soviet invasion), but still lets Poles escape through their country on condition they completely disarm.

History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

Then why were you writing that it's "maybe because Romanian is Latin culture", if you knew she was like that?

To imply the lack of interest in Slavic related things as opposed to gravitating around other Latin nations such as Spain.

There are "those racist white power type people" in every white country, including Poland.

I know, I realize stupid is stupid regardless of what country they are from.

You and that woman

I meant this one.
I can't speak for entire nations, just my experiences.

Because of this confusion the very word "Rumun" (Romanian) ...

I can go on talking about Romania, History, culture, language, I really don't mind.

Romania never did anything bad to Poland

This statement is false. Romanians did invade Poland in the 'Deluge' with Sweden, One of Poland's most bloody conflicts, in which Romanian principalities declared war on Poland for no apparent reason despite it being against their Ottoman masters wishes, in which the Ottomans punished them later for. However I do acknowledge Moldova being historically tied to Poland (more or less half of Moldova is located in Romania). there were a few interesting bits of history but I don't wan't to bring them up as this is not a thread about Romania and Poles. But it can make an interesting thread.

History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

hat the USA and the UK, never said anything to appose either of them on this matter

Perhaps your not aware those two countries are just as criminal or even more so when it comes to historic events of mass murder, enslavement and genocide.

the EU UK and USA do not want to admit their land grab for Ukraine as well.

They have no interest in those people, only when they migrate to work as a cog in their systems is when they care. Their policy is exploit the resources, ditch the country, have immigrants flock to their country for "economic opportunity" repeat process until no resources left to exploit and the poor starve off while the rich become god like. Great success.

Russia feels that it is protecting Russians from west as they want to claim their own people.

History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

No, she was one of those racist white power type people, She told me Germany has the right to take away Silesia, Pomerania and Prussia from Poland. Anything Slavic was seen as inferior. We are not friends anymore. Last time I checked Romanians are one of the most disliked people in Poland, even more disliked then Russians. There must be a reason for this.

I should add I don't want to be against Romanians, many I have met were decent people.

Romania is an Orthodox country - do you feel like you have a warmer attitude towards Romanians

I knew a Romanian who hated Russians, its what she would talk about, while I on the other hand always defended them. Maybe because Romanian is Latin culture?

Really? I say its politics that is the strongest factor.
Both are Slavic culture and both are European culture. Lots of overlap in food, language, traditions etc. Tatars are Asiatic culture, Russian is not.

that is a threat to me. After all Pakistan has nukes. So it worries me.

I remember Shade was putting emphasis on the nukes of Pakistan saying how Poles helped them with it and such. But you think this man who wants to go fishing around for ghosts is giving such a privilege to look after the nukes of Pakistan that has a population of approximately 200 million other people?

History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

Pols hate Russians because of their Catholic religion, as simple as that.

You mean our Catholic religion is telling us to hate Russians?

No I think he means that Poles and Russian would both be closer if Poland was majority orthodox. I suppose there might be some truth in that with people that put a high value on religion.

UK, Ireland / Curious about differences Polish people see with the British? [95]

I think you're wrong. I would say Poles have a special affection for the UK due to it's role during the World War II.

I would say it varies on individual opinions, some like it others hate it, as you mention later on in your post. Nothing special I say.

Most know far more about it than you think, despite the relative paucity of cultural output compared to it's neighbours.

Very nice to include biased bigotry in your statement. As an educated person would know, culture is not something that people can have more or less of, its not ascribed as something one is lacking, but how it plays its role in its own society.

You probably don't realise that the UK got rid of the colonies over several decades as part of a deliberate process.

Oh so you mean they finally evolved a conscience? That empire built on slavery collapsed and that is about it. I came across a article today about child slaves in the U.K during the industrial revolution, very nice. Could you say, a product of English culture?

delicious chaos.

Rather odd choice of words here.

UK, Ireland / Modern day slavery in the UK [36]

Slavery has never ended, it only changed its shape. Welcome to the Roma community, this is very persistent in their lives

You said your a teacher of some sort, educate them so that they can get a decent job and to be aware of these exploitation scams. Maybe you can't help everyone, but you can probably prevent more from falling into this trap

you were always in debt to the boss.

This makes them feel that they must work for them, millions of kids are estimated to be in this trap

Work / 20 years old moving to Poland from Canada, is it hard for me to get a job in Poland? [20]

Best bets: petroleum or geological engineering.

Yes that is big money but probably can get paid more in Canada for it. Work half a year and then go to Poland for the other half doing business or such, I don't know the rules about opening businesses in Poland. But if you could do it then why not?

Print up a CV and choose your favorite degree moze... "Bachelor of Art History" or Sociology lol

What? why not underwater basket weaving?

save your 7 grand a year tuition + books +.. and skip the worthless Bachelor degree from a Canadian University

Some people here study science and actually want to gain knowledge, I know surprising right? But I agree its too expensive

Work / Language Teachers - do you feel respected in Poland? [86]

You mean as an unqualified teenager.

What occupation is that, how do I become a qualified teenager? what's the pay?

But still manage to shoot your mouth off.

That's what you do

Back to thread topic, I respect math, science and language teachers...
As long as they are not: rude, have no accountability, immature, and other things along that line.

This is the reason why someone here is suspended/banned.

Respect is earn through having good character, not by paper certificates. If you are kind and polite, people will respect you. Why must I explain this to old men?

Work / Language Teachers - do you feel respected in Poland? [86]

Not least because a BA (unless its a BA QTS) does not give certification as a teacher.

No, you must go to teachers college for two years.

I bet it was those 'scraps' that taught you English so whats your problem?

Yes it definitely was the scraps that taught me English and I can say they did a bad job, lol, they just blamed me for not progressing as fast instead of wondering why their teaching abilities were less then effective.

Amusing to see someone pontificating about the world of work when they are a teenager.

Some people have to work to eat instead of getting stoned throughout there college days Jon. As a part time teacher/tutor, I help children who are struggling because A holes like you guys overcharge and have no ability to teach (teaching certificate does not guarantee this).

You guys are mediocre at best, the scraps that could not make it back in U.K.

Since none of you denied this, we can safely assume this is true

I have worked teaching English in several universities so ner ner ner

Good for you, pat on the back, I would care more if you taught science...

Work / Language Teachers - do you feel respected in Poland? [86]

B.Ed is its own degree, although I am a B.Sc student, I feel like a B.Ed will be more useful then a B.A for teaching in elementary to high school level, but it depends on what you want to teach and what subjects you took. If you major in English, teach English lol (can the resident Englishmen tell us what else you can do with such a respected degree) same goes for other subjects. Now unless you resident English teachers are full time employed University professors (doubt you are) I don't see the point to brag about teaching English where English is a foreign language. You guys are mediocre at best, the scraps that could not make it back in U.K.

Love / Left Poland when young, did I leave half my heart? [7]

Left Poland when young, did I leave half my heart?

I feel the same way

Wondering if folks who left Poland ever felt something missing that is incredibly hard to but in words on a forum lol .

I know what you mean, It is like a part of you died

Clearly it would also be easier if Polish men weren't so good looking.

I like it that way, that is why I'm good looking, lol

My friends say I need to leave my bubble but I can't.

I am the same way

Wow, I can relate with you pretty easily. I also live in Canada, I feel the urge to go back to Poland as life has been less then satisfying for me here.

History / Whom do the people in Poland hate more: Germans or Russians? [869]

Partitioning of Poland was Catherine idea, Catherine (the great) II of Russia with her personal advisor General Ivan Chernyshyov suggested to Friedrich Heinrich Ludwig (Heinrich) that Prussia and Russia annex/divide among them self's some Polish land,..

She was German born in Prussia, So Germans are not trustworthy either
