Food / Where to find carob in Poland? [5]

Hello,

Generally speaking, where can one find carob in Poland? Carrefour? Kaufland? Or more specific health / herbal shops. We have a herbal apteka in the town where I am. Would I find carob there? Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Work / Teaching English in Poland....CELTA or TESOL certificate? [66]

You can do your own homework, Harry :)

I share my opinion as a living, breathing example of someone who is employable (and employed) based on the acquisition of a TESOL certificate which, incidentally was NOT a three-day course. TEFL / TESOL / CELTA are widely accepted for teaching positions anywhere if accompanied by other relevant skills and/or qualifications.

Love / Observations and experiences so far about Polish women [93]

It's quite standard across the world that trust and sex should be earned. Why do you think you shouldn't need to earn a person's trust? And would you really want to be with someone who gave either away too easily or quickly?? Think about it...

Love / Should I forgive my cheating Polish girlfriend? [73]

Taking her back and carrying on with the relationship is really sending a message that says it's ok for her to behave this way.

Don't you think you deserve better treatment?? I know people make mistakes but if she's looking elsewhere then in my opinion that says there is something wrong with your relationship.

You're better off being on your own than in a relationship that isn't working.

Good luck. Wish you all the best in your decision!

I don't agree. I have a TESOL certificate and out of the six interviews I attended about two months ago, FIVE schools wanted to hire me. I don't have English teaching experience, however I do have 5 years experience teaching computer skills back home in Australia. CELTA and TESOL are more or less the same thing.

News / 1.3% birth rate = Poland's slow death [221]

Broadly speaking, in developed nations people are not having children for two main reasons:

1) it is too expensive and too difficult.
2) many, particularly but not exclusively women, do not find a suitable partner in their prime reproductive years. Undoubtedly there would be women and men who would make great parents but they just don't meet someone in due time.

Also, our parents and grandparents lived in an era where people got married young and had children. No one really questioned why, they just did it because it was the 'done' thing. This generation, again just an observation, seem to be more inclined to stop and question these major decisions and, if suitable, genuine and strong reasons don't exist then couples are not having families.

As I said, I'm commenting very broadly and from general knowledge and observations. Feel free to disagree! I'd love to hear some honest and intelligent opinions!

Law / Where is Warsaw's CBD? [3]

Hello Lovely Polish people!

I have just arrived in Warsaw yesterday and wondering could anyone tell me where the CBD in Warsaw is? On what streets or what part of town? I am staying in Old Town.

I am also wondering if and where any jazz music clubs might be? I'm over 30 so the pop music / drinking / pub / club scene is not for me but I am interested in getting to know the music and art scene in Warsaw.

If anyone could help me out with this stuff I'd be very grateful!

Thanks,
Nicole
