News / Polish final report on Smoleńsk aircrash [853]

gdnyiaguy, But what I'm getting is that their are enough Poles who find it offensive to be mindful of this.I know that you will defend

any thing negative hurled at the Polish as you have proven in your posts.that's ok you're entitled to the way you feel But understand

this if I see any one using slurs or being ridiculously insulting;I will either remove the post and if it continues I will suspend. This doesn't

matter who it is.

History / Why are Jews pestering Poland for "proper" WW2 monetary restitution/reparations? [750]

Yehudi, mistakes were made as to why they didn't bomb Auschwitz, may have been that they didn't want to kill the Jews that were there,

Imagine the conversation we would have been having today if.not only did America not let the Jewish refugees in and killed them in
bombing of the concentration camps.Just a thought.America did help liberate though..

Monia,I don't agree with what you said about Jews in America propagating this issue. It may be(which I had never given thought to until other

posters here pointed it out)that America doesn't want to offend Germany for reasons which I think are obvious if you look at it.I could be

wrong.

weilkPolak, It's not what I think as an American,I have seen other Poles on this sight whom it's offensive to,If see it I will remove it unless admin.

tells me otherwise,IF I'm wrong then I will apologize,to be honest I don't get offended If someone refers to me that way,but that's me,but I am considerate of those who are.Is it too much to ask for you to refrain,I don't think I'm being unreasonable.

gdynianiaguy,If you read your posts, there is no other way you can take it.You have the right to dispell myths as you say,but do you have

to do it in such a brash way?I think not.

History / What do Polish people think of Palestinians? [20]

agreed it is a lose lose situation, not to stray to far off topic,I think you understood what I meant by that last post.If you want to continue then

pm me or start a different, thread, but I warn you, this issue is very sensitive and I know you know where that can lead.

You can back up it up with sources and that's fine.If you didn't understand that post.this is what I'm saying,If you keep up making crude

blanket statements about Poles or any other race or Nationality, you will be suspended.I don't care if you have a problem with the Polish. I'm asking you to be civil and not inflammatory.

Zimmy, the issue I was referring to was Obama's gaff.As for American Jews giving the impression that the Polish are antisemitic I myself

haven't encountered it,I don't disagree,I don't know enough Jewish people to say one way or the other.I don't think the Jews want any

confusion about the fact that Nazi Germany owned and and ran the camps.

Life / Which services is Poland still waiting for? [218]

Thank you Pawian,Coinstar is convenient if you have a lot of loose change you've let pile up.They're located at Mall, supermarkets etc.

You pour the change, it counts it out, then dispenses a receipt. You take the receipt to the cashier and you are given cash.I forget how

much it charges. Is this something that would go over well in Poland?

Food / Your favourite Polish foods! [180]

WielKiPolak,My favorite polish food are golumpki's,sad to to say that I haven't had enough Polish cuisine to contribute much about it.My

Grandfather use to make a potato dish,he would par boil the potatoes and then he would finish them in a frying pan with the grease from

salt pork cracklings and add fresh dill.I really liked those as well.I'm not too fond of standard pierogi, with potato stuffing or sour kraut.I'm

not sure how I would like the other varieties.

Law / Poles think that Germans are the hardest working in Europe... [30]

Lyzco,I consider punctual on time,I myself may show up 15 mins. early, because I'd rather be early than late, plus planning this way gives you

some leeway.I don't consider it wasteful as much as cautious.Nothing inefficient about it,You can't count on anything in life.

Life / Polish ghost stories [38]

Merged: Are there any proclaimed haunted sites or legendary Ghosts of Poland?

I live in New England and in my part of the U.S. are some of the oldest structures in the country. We have all kinds of ghost stories. So I'm

just curious as to what kind of haunted tales Poland may have amassed in it's quite long history.

Rybnik, thank you,I shall look up a recipe and make some and when I do I'll be sure to let you know how they turned out and how easy or

difficult they were to make!I don't know if you read my post about the potato dish my grand father use to make it's in this thread.I was

curious if you had had them before and if you knew what they were called. If you haven't you could make them yourself and I bet you would

like them. They are very easy to make, just as I have posted.I think he called them Ska vaat key
