Work / Finnis is going to work in Krakow. IS 5500 gross + 1500 for apartment monthly OK? [14]

You can easily get a nice one room apartment in krakow for 1500PLN pr. month.
Also if you make 5500 Gross, then after taxes this would end up being 4000 Net.
So if you pay 1500 for flat, then it would leave you with 2500 for living expanses which is more than enough for one person to have a healthy living here in krakow.

Work / A Korean guy got an offer in Poland (Walbrzych)... 8000PLN (gross) [10]

is this 5461pln(net)deal a really special one? that i should never let it go away but TAKE IT?

No, this is not a CRAZY good offer.
On the other hand you can live a very good life for that amount of money in Walbryzch.
You should more consider if this is something that may be good for your career (which being stationed in a foreign country usually is) and also i can promise you that you will come to love life in Poland!

Its easy to meet new people here, and most likely you will find a beautiful polish girl and seatlle (happens to every expant in this country) so id def. say go for it.

But dont think that salary is a once in a lifetime.

Work / Salary of a customer service representative in Krakow [28]

It totally depends on your nationality.

But finish speakers are not paid as well as others foreigners.
Let me know what you make Gross, and i will tell you whether this is good or not.

Anyways i just saw your other thread, and 5500PLN for a finish speaker is pretty good in Customer Service Area.

Are you doing accounting?

I can tell you that as a Danish speaker you get nothing less than 6500PLN gross, while Swedish and Norweigan speakers usually get around 5500PLN gross like finish speakers.

All other language speakers gets less than this.

Work / Salary of a customer service representative in Krakow [28]

Do you have any opinion about this?

Id probably go with the offer of 5500 gross for CSR.
Im currently a Junior accountant, and to be honest its quiet boring and not challenging whatsoever.
Also i doubt that you will get a better offer as a Junior Accountant. Is the offer from Capgemini? (Junir accountant possision)

Work / Salary of a customer service representative in Krakow [28]

Yes I am. And actually you would be working on my Engagement. We are currently looking for a Swedish/Finnish speaker.
So actually its a good position because you will be working on the best paying engagement Cap has here in Krakow.
So you will be able to push them for a pretty good salary i believe, they are starting to get desperate :D

Work / Cities like Lodz to find a job? [10]

So I just visited Lodz this weekend, and i must say i was very pleasently surprised! Maybe do to the fact that i dint expect anything because Polish people in general tells me its sh*thole.

From living in Krakow I have by now already been so tired of all the Expants/Foreigners here. I dont feel like im getting the autentic Polish experience.

On the other hand i felt alot more like that in Lodz.

My question is if theres other "Bigger cities" in Poland that has the same kinda atmosphere as Lodz where it would be possible to find a job? (You can exclude Warsaw)

Travel / Cheap flights from Warsaw to other European countries? [11]

Take the newly open route from Krakow-Billund (Denmark)

In Billund Legoland is located, that would be a very nice place to take your kids (in case you have any)
Its a Ryan air route which means its super cheap!

Travel / Which SIMcard to buy in Poland for two week usage [11]

Just pay a PLAY 5zl prepaid sim card, and then Charge it with 10ektra zl, and then you will be good.

You can buy it in many stores, just ask some people around you once you arrive.
Just know that there are no mini simcards (like those you use in the new iphones etc.) which can be bought as prepaid.

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

Thank you very much for your response. Can you please also tell me about average cost of living in poland? I lead a very simple life

Well in that case you can live very cheap.
An apartment will cost you like 2500PLN pr month, around 80-100 Square meters. Food for your and your family will be no more than 1500 PLN pr month.

So together those things will be 4000PLN pr month, and your net salary would be something like 13.000 PLN net pr month give or take a few hundred.

Then you will have 8000PLN after food and rent is paid pr. month to have fun, buy clothes, save, etc. + your bonus.

But seeing that you are working with SAP (i assume then that your a SAP consultant) correct?
Then this salary really isnt that attractive.

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

Unless you generate a huge added value for your company i find this offer quite extraordinary for a monthly pay in Krakow in your industry.

Its true that this does sound like an extremely good salary (especially in Krakow)
But case is the guy is working with SAP, all the outsourching businesses in Krakow uses this system so they need good professional people who knows this system, and can help them improve using it.

So 18600 pr. month doesnt sounds that crazy, there is a big demand for people with these skills in this city.
But ill def agree with you that he should take the job, and that him and his family can live a very good life here on this salary.

is this salary offer less for SAP resource?

They offer is good here in Krakow!
But in case you were to work in Warsaw, i woulnt accept this offer.

Since I have no idea which country you come from ill just tell you that if you worked in Denmark or another nordic country, your salary being a SAP tech-functional consultant your salary would be nothing less than 8000 EUR groos pr. month

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

I agree, i would rather have that salary in Krakow than 8000 EUR in Denmark where they then cut 62% taxes.

Regarding the company i wouldnt be surprised if it was for one of the Majors like Capgemini, or HCL.

Work / Cost of Living, Average Salaries and Job sites in Poland [263]

I have a friend working as an international manager for Capgemini Krakow. No way this lind of salary could take place for a SAPat Cagemini Krakow , that's why i asked SS1313 where the offer came from.
The good thing is that it would send pay at those places higher if it is a serious offer

Forget managers, they dont have the IT skills. I work in Capgemini, and i know for a fact that being a manager is low paid compared to the lots of hours they work.

But Capgemini would on the other hand pay this amount of money for a person with the proper skills in a system like SAP.

But yea in case this offer i true, he should just start making a biding war betweem the big outsourcing places in this city and see who will be able to pay him the most.

Life / Moving to Poland Part-Time (probably Katowice) [56]

If i were you i would not want to move to Katowice. Its like PIP said an idustrial hole, with rough neigberhoods and not in my opinion a very pleasent place for expants.

If I were you id find a job somewhere first, and then decided where to move afterwards.

Work / Salary expectations in Poland [373]

okay, let's assume the company wants a Danish speaker, so you can go up to 2000zl-3000zl net - maximum.

Thats also BS, im a danish speaker working for an outsourcing companies in Poland, also im 20 years old with no university degree and no polish language skills, and im making 4900ZL net. montly

So if you are a language speaker you can easily get 4000 net.

Travel / Hard Candy - Krakow, Poland - reviews? [131]

I really think its sad that Krakow still has these places!

They had a Hard Candy in Tallin in Estonia for some time also, they did the exact same thing. Case is, in Tallin atleast when the local autorities was informed they shut down the joint.

And thats exactly what they should do with the one in Krakow, it hurts the city's credibillity pretty hard having such scum places.

Genealogy / Trying to find info on Pod Kopcem in Krakow - dom dziecka children house (orphanage) [30]

You'll probably have a hard time finding to much information on the web about these kind of things.

Best would be to take a travel to Krakow combine a holiday with some family search and see what you can figure out.

Due to your age and everything im sure they'll still have all the journals, so in case your trying to locate your birth mother I believe you have a pretty good shot at it.

Best of luck!
