Life / Do you think that Polish people are rude? [951]

Yeah, I'm asking the same.....

Don't get me wrong... I'm planning to go to Poland, I really like it.... But also I am a little bit worried, bcoz all the pics I have seen in the hostel's webpages, are from people that seem to be from Europe, even Poland... and I'm Mexican and I totally look like a Latin girl, so will they treat me well? I'm very polite, and friendly, and I also respect people. I'm not racist at all. so... i dont know. I'm traveling alone, that's why is something I'm worried about. I would love to make friends everywhere I'm planning to go.

I'm kind of like smiling anyone... and saying "Hi" if they look at me... even if i don't know them.... and it happened to me once, here in Mexico, that i found my Polish friend on a club, he was kind with me, but his friend (also Polish), who doesn't know me, was kind of rude, because I said hello to him too... and he was like: do i know u?. I was just being polite... I don't know if he took that rude or something.... or like over familiar...

Travel / Traveling! What to do in Warsaw and Krakow? [13]

Life / WHY DO POLES USE ENGLISH WORDS IN CONVERSATION? [396]

Why is that such a big deal to you? Happens everywhere, normal colloquial, informal language that happens in a conversation. If it makes you feel better, I usually speak Swedish with my mom (easier for me) and she says I often speak Swenglish instead... LOL

I agree. It happens everywhere. I'm from latin america, and is the same. We nave that spanglish, as well.

Travel / Traveling! What to do in Warsaw and Krakow? [13]

Hello Polish people and people who have traveled there..!

I'm planning to go to Europe next year, and one of my stops would definitelly be on Poland...
I actually found a nice hostel in Warsaw, called Helvetia, it looks nice and comfortable. But i haven't decided yet about what hostel in Krakow; I found one, called Nathan's Villa... it looks good too... But I would like to read your opinions and also, what do you recommend me to do there? What places to visit? I really want to go to the Old City, and to the Museum of History. but what else?

Oh... and... is there a train in Warsaw or Krakow that takes me to Budapest? Because I couldn't found it on internet.

(I have met two nice persons from Poland, one is my "aunt", yeah, she got married with my uncle, and the other one is my english teacher, he's so cute and fun.. and both are polite and nice person. Easy to talk with...) =)

I see. Well, maybe i write this way because my mother language is Spanish and i'm still learning English. A friend of mine told me once: Everyone gives own intonation for what can be only read.

I am not much a a party animal myself-though to enjoy the occasional trip to town.

I'm not a party hard girl, just in special ocassions. I rather go to a quite bar with nice music, you know acapella, have a beer or a cocktail, and have a nice talk with friends or gather in one of my friend's house, have some beers as well and play jenga or scrabble. Maybe some of you would think that's stupid and childhood, but is not bcoz ur with ur friends having fun, which I think is the important part. Like i said before, there's a lot of ways to have fun.

hahaha..! So if i like going to the movies and stuff i'm 18?.... uhmm... well, i like going to bares and stuff... i like dancing and singing, drinking, karaoke blah blah... but not always, i mean, no every weekend... and i know a polish, i kinda like him, he's cute, but what i can infer is that he likes go to bares every weekend, i found him once on a bar.... that's why i asked.

Do u consider somo other activities, like going to the movies, or go to a cafe, something more relaxing and quiet? or u find it boring?, and it's just all about partying all the time?. Are u Mexican an he is Polish? oh that's so nice, im mexican too and i had a crush with a polish guy living here, but i think he already has a polish gf, too bad. But still he gives an eye... and i dont know why. maybe he just wants sex. But nice to hear this from u. Make him feels like home, i think the advices that SeanBM gave u are good. Unfortunately, if you need to type a long text in Polish, this technique is time-consuming :) I only use it for single words or sentences..

awwww.....i live in latin america and i have a Poland english teacher (funny uh?), his english is british so i can hardly understand him bcoz i speak american english, but anyway. From the moment i met him i really had a crush on him and i dont know, maybe he's just kind, but he's my age and i have seen him staring at me... the thing is that i just know him as my teacher, that funny, good looking, polite and kind teacher he is... not more.. bcoz u know there are rules on the school, but i really want to get to know him as a friend, maybe go out someday... but no, that seems to be kind of impossible... Maybe when he's not longer my teacher, if he's not going back to Poland before, of course.... that i know eventually he will... meanwhile i really enjoy the classes with him... he's that easy going teacher, he's cool..!

haha.. im latin girl too.. and i have a crush with a polish guy, omg he's so cuteee, he's tall, green eyes, kinda funny and very hardworking....

i think everyone, no metter if they are americans, europeans, asians.. etc.. they are beautiful anyway to somebody else's eyes. For example, me.. im latin, brunette, i have met guys from my city who are really handsome and i cant stop look at them even if a nice really cute european is infront of me. And i have met european boys who are really good looking guys for me... and i can imagine that if i go to Europe, that guy wont be that good looking for a European girl.. maybe...

I have read also a lot of comparison between latin ans slavic girls... and i have to admit, me as a latin girl, that slavic girls are really beautiful... but latin girls are too... and assian, an european, an american...! come on, dont fight becoz of that... and that "Notadumbpollack" he/she has a lot of hatred... leave him alone. dont listen/read to him/her... is kinda boring and blah blah......... like in spanish we say: Hacerle caso a un pendejo es engrandecerlo. Translate that into ur mother language... and u will know hehehe. =D

Love / Polish men like Latin girls? What do u find attractive in a girl physically & emotionally? [29]

I recently met a Polish guy in my school. I'm taking a degree in English Language, there are two different classes, monday to saturday and in both he's my teacher. When i met him, i found him very kind and funny, and that caught my attention because not all foreing people i've met tend to be kind, instead of that, they use to show off and be rude. Then i knew he is from Poland. I don't know, maybe i'm hallucinating, but something tells me i caught his attention too. He learned my name quickly, and he's always staring at me, always asking me to participate, (and it is not because i don't participate on the class, i like to participate a lot without he's there telling me, but anyway he does that. People have told me i have a nice voice, that could be a good reason, maybe, i don't know), he's always repeating my name, watching me when i arrive. We're almost the same age, i'm 24 and he's 26 and the others are on a average from 11 to 19 years old. He told the class he likes going out to some pubs and drink some beers, that's all, so I can imagine that he has seen pretty girls in my town, that exotic girls and here comes my doubt because i know i'm a pretty girl in a natural way, i dont like to wear too much make up, just some mascara and lipstick, i don't like to wear high heels, i wear sandals, i dont like too many accesories and stuff neither. I like to keep my outfit simple, not that much, kind of hippie/rocky girl, but i do take a shower uh..! haha. I'm brunette, big brown eyes, plum lips, totally a latin girl but casual. I'm a kind of good girl, like i say: Don't judge me, i'm not like that. I just have a naughty mind. I dont know what to think right now, the only thing i know is that i like him, i like the way he is. at least, the things i know for now. And i would love to break the ice with him, not just a teacher - student relationship, you know, but in the other hand, i'm not quite sure to do that... I mean, he's going to be my teacher for a complete year, there's still a lot of time to get to know each other. But i go back to the point.... How can i brake the ice? or should i have to wait for him to do that? How are u Polish boys? Or any European boys, i know you are open minded, but i've read Polish guys are kind of old fashion, i also read on HM Magazine, Polish are loyal, they tend to look for a long relationship intead of one night stand. Mexican boys are stupid (without offending, but it's true). i'm Mexican, yeah, but mexican boys have a very narrow chauvinist mind: if you go and break the ice you're desesperate. If you don't, you are shy and prudish. So what the hell? The same, if you have sex on the first date, you're a slut (i'm agree with that, i don't have sex on the first date), but if you wait a long you're prudish and puritan. I feel fine with the way i am and i'm calm but all those issues turn into my head. The men I have met have been all fools atupid ********. I don't want that anymore.
