I know. It's crazy to imagine that when a lot of the old town structures in PL were built we just had indians and tee-pee's here. I was blown away by the arcitecture. I have more to post soon. I hope that others will add. it's quite amazing if you've never been there.

Same building in warsaw. I think its the Palace of Culture ... can someone verify this? It was the first thing I saw getting out of the train station. I didn't spend much time there though. I was mostly in Poznan and Krakow.

Hey - that`s nothing - it also isn`t very old.

It's also different for you because you live there. For us it's very visually stimulating. The building in warsaw doesn't appear to be too old but I've experienced seeing Churches built in the 900's. That's amazing for someone from a country that's so young.

You have to realize that we have NO culture here.

since it was built as a "gift" from the USSR government

Hmmm...learn something new each day :)

Seeing things like this isn't too common:

btw. I see that you`ve been in Poznan before the renovation

Actually I haven't. That picture was taken by someone else. I have some Poznan pics but they're on a different PC. I'll get them on disc.

When do you think this was taken?

I asume that you were in Krakow and you`ve visited Wieliczka ?

Yes. Amazing!!! I've never seen anything like it. To think that all of the salt sculptures were crafted by the workers out of free will w/ no pay is amazing in itself.

Dzieki! I'm happy to finally see some pictures in this forum.

Do you know if there are any pyramids near Posen?

During the 1500s Poznan had looked this way:

I got the tour in the town hall that this picture came from. It's amazing that everything is still standing after being on fire so many times.

Poznan isn't so beautiful anymore. How come there have been no progress for the last 5 centuries?

I don't agree with this. When I was there this past october they were doing restoration work on and around the Parish Church. They were also doing a bit of restoration on the Town hall. The city is definitely still beautiful.

I work for a company where tons of people are using tons of bandwith

Pay to go to a public restroom-how ridiculous

At least they have public restrooms :) Try finding one in NYC.

Yeah....these women are ok. I still think there are more natural beauties out on the streets. All of these women are made up too much.

Food / Bigos Recipe [151]

You need to relax. I cook a lot and know that different cuts of meat provide different flavors. I don't cook Polish food and was just wondering wht is usually used by the Polish to make it as authentic as possible.

So, you don't have to write a book with your un needed explanation since she had already answered my question. Who asked you anyway?

Annab- thank you very much. I hope it turns out well :)

By the way Lamb shank was recommended :)

Are you going to Poznan or something? I'm leaving next friday for 2.5 weeks in Poznan :)

Poznan street racing

When is this? Something that I can participate in? Looks like fun.

Also, I'll be driving up to Sopot in a few weeks and wanted to know if there were any cities I might want to visit on the way...something worth seeing anyway :) ...The Pyramids for example.

Love / Polish girls attitudes towards sex. [568]

polish girls in london and ireland come only to sell there body and make big money

Unfortunately this isn't only by choice for some of them. London has a huge problem with human Trafficing. Some of these girls have their passports taken and forced to work so they can earn money to get them back. So don't always think what you're seeing is by choice. It's quite sad actually.

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

If you're a drunkard you can drink it. I make homemade Miod Wodka :) And it's very drinkable. The problem is that it takes 8 mos to make.

Food / What is your favorite Polish Vodka? [653]

Haha. Very true. In Poland they don't let me drive even the next day after drinking it. I love this old Polish recipe nothing beats it and luckily I have no problems finding 95% spirits here in the US. I can make it weak if requested...but Nah!

Cherry is ok but it's only 35%
