News / Multi-culti (in Poland) -- roadmap to disaster? [344]

Look at how prosperous life is for people in India and China

China ("economy is second only to the US") and India ("world's tenth largest economy by market exchange rates and fourth largest by purchasing power parity") are very rich actually, but short of the government giving away money to the populace it's not going to result in rich individuals. So it doesn't really harm the country like you seem to think an expanding population does. Look at Greece, no one wants to invade there and they seem to be keeping it very european...

On the other hand slavic immigrants improve the envirinment significantly by their appearance contribution

I hope you were not part of the "whitening effect" that lead to someone getting killed in the midlands a couple of months back in which 5 "slavic europeans" were seen assaulting another "european" leading to his death.... Importing your "savage ways" lol, do you even hear yourselves when you talk sometimes?

Fair enough, no one wants the indiginous people of any country to become a minority in their own country, but you are taking the **** with some of your comments.

Life / For all the black people living in Warsaw, where do you get your hair cut? [39]

The only problem would be to find the hairdressers who have skills and training for the different haircuts Black people can have.

That's true, but it's not too hard finding someone that can to basic cuts and most women (hate to generalise) can do the cornrows and such.

Another problem you might have is your overheads, if you decide to put it on a high street or the polish equivalent I'm fairly certain for the cost of renting such a place, you'd be better off selling drugs on the side to keep it profiatble (Joking, don't do drugs kids)

You can't really have a place for cheap cuts if you don't have the numbers coming through the doors (One thing newly arrived immigrants definitely want is a cheap option). So, you need to have a business that caters to both caucasian and black people hair. All at reasonable prices or you'll get done for reverse racism!

Life / Popular web page with funny/stupid/short customer service stories in Polish [7]

We can start one now, cos clearly you have some nice stories you want to share.

My wife could share a few tales, once (well more than once) an American would call their company regularly just to hear the European girls voices but since their company policy forbids them from hanging up the phone first, he would keep them on the line never saying a word... But you could hear his breathing getting heavier! o_O

Not sure if that counts as funny or creepy but it is one of the weirder calls they've received.

Now everyone share their experiences... in english maybe :)

Same with blacks and Asians who do not see outsiders that often. They stare and make comments about what's different, what they are not accustomed to.

It is slightly different though, I've seen how the little kids in Africa act towards white people and they'll either ask blunt but not racist or rude questions like, "where do you come from?", "can we follow you?" and basically just act like they have an audience with Santa.

The worst thing you might hear (dunno if it's even bad) is a child just exclaim with a smile, "white man!" that's it. My mate went to small towns and villages around Asia and he said the kids did similar things to him and some randomly gave him gifts (usually broken toys or whatever they had to hand)

So it's a bit different to monkey chants (in the worse cases) and whispering, stares and finger pointing.

Hopefully before the Euros, Poland will have addressed this by maybe using some public service announcements or the likes. Get some celebrities involved and really try and address it head on.

should address the needs of Americans who have been here for generations, not newcomers from Africa and Latin America

Unless you personally believe you are going to live for more than one generation, I don't thikn there is ANY american that has been there for generations. If you mean that the government should favour a family more because their great grandfather helped make the liberty bell how is that going to work exactly?

Now if you mean the welfare system should not work to make it easy/more beneficial for anyone on welfare to stay out of work than to work then I'm with you. The only thing I'm not a fan of is you banging on about becoming a brown nation... Something you want to get off you mind?

....What if all the middleclass Black families decided to start having 10 kids each and not having a single one on welfare. Would you have a problem with that? It would result in a brown country but they wouldn't be a drain, wouldn't it be acceptable apart from your general disapproval, of course.

Amy Winehouse has been sober for almost a month.)

Loving it

there were some real ruff guys all talking cockney slang, i was like, i just cant be dealing with this anymore.... it hurt my ears

I walked past someone with the strongest cockney accent ever and even though I was at least 6 feet away from him I had to check my wallet was still there, he sounded so dodgy I thought he'd conned me out of my money just by being within earshot of him :)

The neighborhood I work in is about 75% immigrant

Unless this was all in a Chakchiuma village, then it is more like 99.9983% immigrant. Even the "locals" are immigrants. Maybe not 1st or 2nd Gen, but let's remember everyone had a time they were considered outsides.... within recent history too

Life / Golden Wedding in Poland, the protocol for giving gift for a wedding? [58]

Considering a gift to be "unwanted" is about as classless as it gets.

You might like the sentiment behind a gift, but if you are newly wed in a one-bedroom/studio apartment then a bread maker, a chocolate fountain and 12 punch bowls make less than no sense. As long as there is no set amount and it can be anonymous then I see no problem with it. We are in a recession and I like practical thinking... but I'd just give the cash that was going to go on their present + a little extra (cos the present would've been cheap :P)

it's basically importing in people who are highly prone to: violence; theft; vandalism; drug trafficking; prostitution; cultural seclusion; oh yeah sitting around and collecting government cheques

Strange that's the very same thing I see Poles doing in cities all over the UK. All you can do is set a criteria for allowing people into a country, if it's too permissive you'll get every man and his dog, if it's not working raise the bar.

Those "immigrant communities" are not the norm or the ideal, they're just the cheap places where the less well-to-do/less desirables can afford to live which in turn drives prices down making it more affordable to those just off the boat (chicken and egg scenario). Personally, I'm not a fan of these communities as they are insular and do not encourage integration of any sort (All nationalities are guilty of it)

Most of the Nigerians I know are from religious, two parent families and apart from some born and raised in suburbia (they have all white mates), never get into any trouble. So I always recommend, don't take you sample demographic from the hood. I walk through some parts of the UK at night and the polaks look just as likely if not more to start something than the other residents of these "immigrant communities".

I can't tell you how to fix Africa, but let's not over simplify it by saying they just want an "easy" life. Maybe an easier life, cos not getting shot by the police on the way to the shops (true story) seems like something you'd expect in any country but then not being able to find paying work when you are even willing to work in a toilet must be hard too.

Let's not forget, some on this forum left their own countries for an easy life in Poland, but cos they're EU nationals (fluke of birth) they've somehow contributed positively to Poland and the EU.... Let's not generalise too much, cos I bet for every waster of African origin you personally know, I know one that's an asset. But the only ones that make a good news story are the ones scamming, stealing or drug trafficking.

I'm sorry Joe, but I don't see what your point is? The first vid just showed a busy road in Lagos, not any worse than some major Parisian and Italian roads (Similiar road ettiqutte too I bet). Didn't watch the 2nd vid but can't be worse than anything that happens in any European country.

As for your 3rd vid, are you saying no one ever got killed on video in any other countries except 3rd world countries? All the way from Kansas to Cambodia, all these cautionary "examples" are not exclusive to Africans. Let me know when you have something exceptional to show me.

Btw, UK papers tday carried an article about a man here that allegedly intentionally gave his then girlfriend Herpes and he is likely to get a 14 months sentence. Which is appalling cos I thought only HIV infected Africans were the only reason Europeans had any diseases.

UK, Ireland / I need help!! (problems with my Polish coworkers) [41]

I think you need to seach online for some legal advice if taping some of their conversations is permissible then just have a small tape recorder on or about your person and get it translated later and provide a transcript of the conversations they have at your disciplinary.

Women can be a bit funny in a workplace environment (no offence ladies) me and my missus are going to be moving soon and I'm a bit worried about how she'll be recieved in a new job by the women there cos you lot can be a pain to other women if they are prettier or better liked than yourselves... Sorry for the rant but I've worked in the midst of ******** women, all telling me crap about the other women that I didn't want to know and then I watch them pretend to be best mates 5mins later and they'd worked together for 10 yrs!

Statistically it may be the case, but as we also know there's Triads everywhere but don't get me started on that :) You can not make a blanket policy that targets certain nationalities. Just police everyone robustly and the individuals that are having a positive contribution to society won't be tarred with the same brush.

Yeah, but it makes for great sound bites and political grandstanding. Like in the UK, the conservatives built their entire campaign on "Immigrants are evil, we'll stop them coming here and taking jobs" (I'm paraphrasing and reading btw the lines + a bit of artistic licence, but you get the idea). Then as soon as they cobbled together their half-baked coalition, they forgot about all that and just cut, cut and cut now, no jobs and no monies :(

Poland would do well to not fall into the trap of "all immigration is bad". Instead stricter policing and civil service actually doing their jobs will ensure the dodgy ones don't slip through the cracks. Because, let's face it, it's the dregs of (any) society that cause problems for the vast majority of law abiding diaspora where ever they may be.

I'll try...

I challenge everyone to rewrite their post but instead of a country name to stand in place of an agent, try being SPECIFIC

When I referred to Africa, I meant oil producing African nations (Most/all of which were/are under dictatorships). When I said the EU are being accommodating I mean on paper their governments say all the right things about freedom of movement but clearly on a smaller scale there are grumblings.

And it's the same with EU countries that enjoyed the benefits of freedom of movement when their economy was dire now have to share the ""EU Burden" of collective "guilt" for stripping former colonies (even though not all EU nations had colonies) of assets.

Is that vague/specific enough? I don't see the beef really, we generalise all the the time and by reading between the lines we get an understanding of what the person meant. And if not I can clarify on request :)

you could have left that part out thank you very much

Yeah, I got you pegged all wrong but reading other posts on here makes you kind of expect the worst from every poster. We know the ones who are responsible. That being said, regardless of me not being a fan of the ethics of big multinationals I've benefits more directly from them than most of you, Ironically :)

But I have seen it and I think the reason the EU is so accommodating is a bit of historical guilt... There's no guarantee that Africa and other struggling 3rd world territories wouldn't have just fallen apart on their own, but short of checking how Africa is in a parallel universe (minus european influence), Europe will be feeling a lot of guilt for a long time.

Fair enough, Poland hasn't got a hand in it but Big Brother in Brussels has and Poland wants to sit at their table and has to chip in for the waiters tip (so to speak).

Who's benefiting from that? You? Me? No, there are a select few who benefit from this and it's not them that has to worry about

Let me just stop you right there, I don't know why India and the middle east are such "dumps" but I'll tell you right now if you've ever filled up at a Shell, BP, Exxon/Mobil, Texaco then you have benefited from them. All these companies have been in the oil producing countries for at least 50 years, lining the pockets of every single dictator that came through the ranks (literally).

A coup happens, they pull out. The new dictator comes in crushes any opposition to the Oil fields and they come back bearing gifts of gold for the new Tyrant in charge and life goes on as usual for the Gas guzzling masses that actually benefit. Fair enough, it's not all "evil white man" fault.... but it's right up there. I've seen it with my own eyes.

So it's no wonder if the Multinationals are helping the dictators stay in power that the downtrodden masses will either revolt or re-locate and those are the two options but neither is ideal.

hey come and bring their (lack) of culture

You do know there are other cultures besides polish/western culture? I'm hoping you mean "they come and do not try to integrate properly" cause otherwise you are saying no other continent has a culture apart from central/western europe. Really?

News / HIV infected Nigerian has bitten bus ticket's controler in Cracow! [56]

And Polish people are not blind. They see what groups started and contributed the most to the riots in England.

You are clearly a retard and maybe you only noticed the non-whites in the riots OR polish tv or whatever you watched but I'm here on the ground and the vast majority by a country mile were young, white males and all the channels here carried the images so I'm not talking about one biased source. So don't come on here spouting your so-called "facts" because you are just showing the extent of your ignorance with every passing post.

No one is saying the "evil white man" is to blame, a bunch of morons, not dissimilar to yourself caused untold damage to innocent peoples property, but all you saw from tens of thousands of people rioting was that there were some non-whites among them.

You seriously have a chip on your shoulder that you should get looked at cos it could be a tumour or something and is affecting your reasoning .... And I'm bored with you now.

News / HIV infected Nigerian has bitten bus ticket's controler in Cracow! [56]

So is it the same on trains in Poland or are the Bus controllers a different breed to the train people? In the UK they are almost timid in comparison to what you guys are describing.

As for biting him, HIV or not he should be jailed because that is common assault. In the UK you'd at least go to court for even spitting on someone, much less biting them. Hopefully, he's just fresh off the boat and has not infected anyone so he could expect a jail term and deportation.

As for someone having a problem with immigrants coming and not respecting the rule of law, wouldn't you make a better case for your argument if YOU respected the rule of law and paid your fines... Two faced scrounger, you paid any taxes recently?

how many black africans in Poland have AIDS, but i do know that 15,000 Poles are known to have it

And I'm sure every single one of them got it from an African... that's the next opinion that will come up, give it a few minutes

UK, Ireland / Worst of the worst Poles emigrating to Britain? [32]

P-ndejo... Kind of like when blacks refer to one another, as the N word. It's supposedly meant to be said, strictly in a friendly manner? Go figure!

Strangely enough, I don't know any of my black friends that use this term. I'm guessing american TV has a lot to answer for. The only person I knew that used it was a half white, half black girl and she was just trying to act ghetto even though she went to a posh grammar school :p

Loneliness plus alcohol can equal bad behaviour!!!!

Haha, that is so true... looking on this forum anyway. You know yourselves :D

I'll be honest with the exception of a few languages, three of the first five words I learn of any language are the insults. It's the same all over, you want to know when someone is insulting you... I'd know even if someone smiled at me but said kurwa (pardon my french) I'd know where I stood with them even though I only know about 4 polish words I definitely know that one. I can say hi in chinese, but I made sure I knew when they were insulting my mother.

It's the done thing, my mate doesn't know any polish but could order a "special" from a "working girl" don't know where he learned it and don't care, it's the fascination and novelty factor. But if that gets kids interested in languages ... it may not be too bad of a price to pay :)
