Language / The most important phrases when traveling to Poland [24]

i live 4 hours from canada, and yes it can be easy, but it can be hard. from what i know, a lot of Europeans(and i could be 100% wrong and will admit my shame) have a much better time learning languages because they are so diverse there. where the US, we have spanish and English, mostly English. we dont get exposed to other languages :)

i did buy a phrase book, but i also like to be able to say other stuff, and i planned on learning the language anyways :) the plan is to have a basic grasp of it by January of next year:) but thnk you so much for all the help !

I have been doing family research, I know that my great grand parents emigrated from Poland, and that they came from the Poland/Russia border. The little research I have done is this a patronymic of the Piotr. Is this true?
