Genealogy / Burial listings for Polish cemeteries. Where to find them online? [12]

What city/area are u interested in ?

I want to start in Lodz city but then maybe also Belchatow for another part of the family. I found 1 website for the communal cemeteries in Lodz but they don't have any of the names I am looking for.

Law / U.S.C. Requesting birth, death and marriage certificates. Any laws or restrictions? [7]

Hello forum users,
My Polish wife and I are having a lot of trouble tracing her family tree as we are in Australia so we thought about visiting Poland later this year and requesting some documents just like you can do in Australia. Does anybody know the laws about this and also any limitations? I would like to be prepared and know exactly what to say when I approach the registry office.

I had a strange situation when my wife and I got married last year in Poland. The U.S.C. actually demanded my original Birth Certificate and kept it even after I explained that it was the original which I had mailed to me from Australia. I had a copy certified by the Australian Embassy in Warsaw but the U.S.C. refused to marry us unless they kept the original saying I could keep the copy.

Anyway, the point of that story was to let you know I am aware of the strangeness of the U.S.C. so I really just want to know any rules we have to follow before we ask anything only to be told no it isn't our department or no you can't do that in Poland, etc.

Looking forward to any help and information.
Regards,

Tim

Genealogy / Burial listings for Polish cemeteries. Where to find them online? [12]

Can anyone tell me where to find burial lists online for Polish cemeteries? I haven't had any luck finding birth, marriage or death certificates so I thought about trying to put our family tree together using burial records. The only problem is that I can't seem to find any. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Tim.

Genealogy / ANSZPERGIER, Michał. Born between 1900 and 1910 possibly around Lodz area. [4]

Hello and pleasant greetings from Melbourne, Australia.

My Polish wife and I are having some difficulty finding any details from this side of her family.
Michał Anszpergier married Marianna Zaremba or Zaręba and had 1 son Eugeniusz about 1928.
They later divorced and Michał moved to France but rumours were that he returned to Poland.
His ex-wife and son never saw or heard from him again and no further life details are known.
I have found that there are 11 people in Poland with the name Anszpergier all living in Lodz.
If you are related or can help us in any way we would be very happy to hear news from you.

Another question but not so important is the meaning of this surname. Any ideas welcome. :-)

Best regards,

Tim.

Genealogy / Najgebauer help please [24]

Hi everybody!

Is this thread still alive? I need some help too with the surname of Neugebauer (exact spelling).
The difficulty is trying to find any information online because we now live in faraway Australia.
My wife is from Lodz and the person whose info I am seeking was her 3 x great grandmother.
Her name before marriage was Matylda Neugebauer but I don't know any exact dates to offer.
If I allow 25 years for each generation then I calculate she was born between 1850 and 1860.
She married Kazimierz Królikowski and they had at least 3 daughters, Julia, Helena and Stanislawa.
I believe the Neugebauer family were either from Lodz or moved to Lodz but nothing is too sure.
Any information regarding the parents or sibling(s) of Matylda Neugebauer would be great news.

Patiently waiting,

Tim.
