I think, though, that unfortunately you have crossed a cultural line with your girlfriend. I don't know what your cultural background is, but certainly in the above scenario a fellow Pole would have probably congratulated his efforts to resist arrest, consoled him over not being able to be at home, and offered him a drink and a bed for the night.

Provided that the fellow Pole is also an ex-con. Where are you getting this bullshit from?

The girl is probably a nut-case, some women just like "dangerous" guys, especially those coming from a low social background that are used to men being abusive and agressive .

If you are willing to accept it it's ok, but mind that you will have to face her other "friends".

Love / Are polish men very welcoming to foreigner and my doubts? [30]

So my questions are, Are polish men very welcoming to foreigners? As in willing to spend time all his time with the girl, prepare meals, invite the girl home, introduce to his friends and told his mom about the girl? What do you think about my doubts?

You madame, have a textbook type of an, at least interested in you, Pole.

To say the least, this is not just common courtesy. If a polish guy invites you over for Christmas and talks about you with his mom he definetly sees you as something more than a friend.

Rejestr Gruntów is not a Księga Wieczysta.

If the seller does not want to change entries in Rejestr Gruntów that's ok. She's right to say that it's not needed in this case.

Definitely beer. Wódka (sic!) is drunk on special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, family reunions. It's not an everday drink.

The brewing industry is blooming, more and more customers tend to choose beer from small, local breweries rather than bland beers such as Żywiec, Tyskie or Okocim. There are many blogs with beer reviews and brewing reciepies.

Try googling Gulag or just check wikipedia on this topic - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulag

I think that the word "owe" does not apply to our relations with Jews. We've been neighbours for a major portion of our history and just like neighbours we both learned from each other.

On both sides there are sins which should not be forgotten.
