Life / Babcia or Busha - any social class difference? [359]

What does Bush have to do with babcia? lol

LMAO I have asked that to myself too when I heard BUSHA!!!! LMAO

nana:
Both are correct.

No, they aren't. The proper Polish language is the one used in Poland. 'Busia' or 'Busha' are neologisms and don't figure in any Polish dictionaries. The fact that some word is widely used by Americans of Polish descent does NOT make it a proper Polish word.

Exactly! But the Americans always expects to get special treatment.

Food / Let's Play a Game-Name a Polish Food (and if you like it or hate it) [12]

I like all the Polish food, it is of course my favorite food. There's really nothing I do not like. Apart from Indian and Turkish food I can not stand. I have not yet tried so many international dishes, maybe there's more I do not like.

Life / Gypies/Indian-looking women with kids beg for money in Poland [143]

LMAO exactly, I always say this.
Anyone who is not lazy and do not give up gets a job. Begging on the street is simply sickening, especially with little children. No matter what it is, whether sweeping streets or whatever, I would do everything to avoid landing on the road.

Moreover they are not Poles, this gives our country a bad, poor image when they begging and annoy.

USA, Canada / Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH! [300]

You might ask some of your Irish countrymen why they left Ireland for America, and never returned.

I don't need to you clown - nothing to do with it anyway.

It is nothing to do with it but lets face it America 150 years ago was much, much more attractive than it is now. Those dudes got in at ground level, the timing could not have been better and it is all about the timing.

True.

USA, Canada / Not everyone that lives or comes from America is RICH! [300]

You Europeans just cant understand what it is to be an American

The laugh is, you probably don't either.

Go on - explain it, what does it "mean to be American" as opposed to being any other nationality?

I agree with Teffle.

Love / What are Polish Women like? Just started to date one. [256]

Not always, it depends on the partner you had!
Sometimes your own feelings cheat you and a time later - back into reality you realize what a nasty taste you've had! Such things are not necessary to know, sometimes it's just a waste of time!

USA, Canada / Polish Food - 40 flavors of pierogies in the US [113]

Great, but can you tell me why would you have 40 varieties of pierogi?
We Poles can think of maybe four types, so what gives? Is America that bizzarre now? Are there jerked pierogies or pierogies ala mode?

what can I say - typical Americans +rolling eyes+

Life / Winter 2010/2011 in Poland, is it going to be bad? [114]

Lmao it is still autumn, winter is just beginning in two months lmao two months are not a little.
Right now it is in my opinion a bit too cold for this season, I mean it is October.

Life / Winter 2010/2011 in Poland, is it going to be bad? [114]

i hope that December 2010 winter in Krakow-Polandia will be cold, and i would love to see there some snow and not only gray, dirty streets...
yay! i'm excited!

It will be like always. Cold, icy and snowy

Life / The Polish people have a strange attitude to cats and dogs? [84]

From what i have observed, Polish People in the country anyway, seem to chain or lock up their dogs. I find this strange.

This is not true. Pets bring much joy to our lives. Some people have dogs, some cats or both and much more. I'm more into cats. In the country many have dogs as protector. I live now in Kraków and work a lot, but I took two cats from the street. Cats do not give a lot of work.

It's you, yes. Poles tend to take good care of their animals.

indeed.

Love / Filipina married a Polish man, need more advice [90]

You will soon meet an unmarried man without children, just relax a little, enjoy your single life and be patient. He not loved you really, you can not live with one-sided love. I understand you, if you've loved someone it will take a long time, but you will forget him, as soon as you meet someone better.

Love / Filipina married a Polish man, need more advice [90]

my Polish bf lie to me, he told me that he was divorced and no kids but turns up he has kids and wife and living in the same house and not divorce. Does he has any reason to lie to me because I told him that I prefer to meet someone with no kids? Please advice

probably his divorce too is a lie

no, he had no reason to lie to you, and his wife and kids are simply a bad dream, wake up!

Yes, wake up girl, wake up and leave. What is he thinking? He can have two wives? Then he should find another country where it is allowed. Cheer up you deserve a better

News / Poles are getting rich... [63]

It's all good - I get to meet some middle class nouveau riche as clients - but they seem to wear it well, and it has to be good news.

Life / Womans day in Poland? [242]

Here's the thing about Poland, if you don't come with flowers you might as well not come at all. Always flowers, all the time. A gift would be too forward, but flowers are nearly mandatory.

Indeed. Kwiaty is a must ;-)

Yes, Poland had grandmothers day, grandfathers day, namesdays

Zgada się, and if it's not mother's day, grandmother's day, grandfather's day, can be found in every pub someone who celebrate his name-day, birthday. There is always something to celebrate. A day without celebrating is a wasted day, isn't it? ;-)

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

That will probably be the reason. Therefore, it does not matter whether they are attractive or not, the main thing is free, female flesh. Lmao

And blondes are exotic for them, what makes up an even bigger attraction. Fair-haired, maybe blue eyes and bright skin.
In the nationality of the Turks, Indians, Pakis and Arabs all have dark skin, almost the same dark hair and eye color. Maybe that's why more and more Indians and Turks visit Poland because they look for this type of girl? Would be interesting to know.

You can not generalize this, but I believe for the majority it is certainly one reason.

Blondes are so popular. I'm considering now to dye my hair blonde - lmao no jk, if the color grows out, the apex look unattractive what means, I stay true to my brown ;-)

Love / 'Battered husbands' - still a taboo subject in Poland [387]

It might sound lik3e a taboo but there are beaten husbands and abused men. they need to be recgignized and helped.I feel sorry for them.

Husband and wife should never resort to violence (except the man deserves it lmao). But with words and decisive action one can also kill. Now a typical school saying: Violence is never the solution. lmao

History / What do Poles think about Turks? [761]

and why we should like Turks, Americans, Brits or any other nation? I like particular people, not the whole nation.

that's good but....

the turks in uk are perverts and snobs. Who run around raping blonde women . but i never been to turky an i hear in turky they are better

....that's true lmao

My best friend has stepped, short, blonde hair and it is really true what you write walesboy. This sucks ass! Last year we visit the UK, the same happen. Not only the Turks, the Indians and Arabs also! Not as extreme as the Turks, but clearly also. Rape is exaggerated, but they stare and flirted with every woman - whether attractive or not.

In Poland there are not that many Turks, but if it has then I experience the same.

Thank God I'm not blonde, although everyone knows that this hair color for men is particularly sought after.

I also have the feeling that they are better in Turkey. I like Turks, they're nice people, but why are so many Turks like that?

Life / Poles - what other nationality would you say you are most like? [125]

I guess we just know we're different... It seems Czechs have different character and mentality... We like them, but... Poles drink vodka and Czechs drink beer, you know xD
Czechs are more pragmatic, I think, Poles are hot heads

I agree with you somehow

Life / Poles - what other nationality would you say you are most like? [125]

Scandinavians, Finns, Dutch? LMAO I am laughing myself to deathh
We Poles are unique and have most in common with Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, sure with Slavic countries. Don't compare the Irish always with us Poles, we are a completely different country on a very different spot on the globe. We might have just the fondness for drinking in common with the Irishman, they whisky we wódka.

Love / SHE'S 25, HE'S 85 (Polish actor Andrzej Łapicki) -- ANY FUTURE? [82]

Maybe she doesnt like sex that much but she does like intelligent people.

Yes maybe. His intelligence, resume, experience, his knowledge. But of course money makes him even more attractive.
She must really like him, after all she spends her young years with him.

And not to forget, when he was young he was a very attractive man!

Every woman has nothing against intelligent, well-paid men ;-).
But for me only those who have worked hard for it. Somehow that makes them male. The pampered, wannabe sons with the legacy of their wealthy parents leaves me completely cold.

Incidentally, for 85 years he looks very fit and his mind seems to have not lost youthfulness.

But I also can't imagine to have a 85 years old husband, that's really pretty crazy. But if she is happy with it, everyone has to decide for himself.

As I said, she must be happy with it. No one forced her to marry him, everyone has to decide for himself.

Food / Help me like Polish food (recommendations) [48]

monika87:
I don't like Turkish food, I do not live in Turkey, so what?

So what indeed - what's your point?

You said:

monika87:
...cook in Poland your Irish food.

...and I advised you that I don't live there - that's all. I can't cook anything "in Poland" if I'm not there?!

Yes it is already clear to me. You did not understand what I meant in my second post, but no matter. ;-)

I suppose I "want" to like Polish food more because I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and I'm thinking I should have more of it or some of the less well known stuff before I make my mind up.

OhOh I see! Not a bad idea ;-)

...take training courses and cook in Poland your Irish food.

Ooooh defensive aren't we? ;)

Well I don't need lessons, don't live in Poland and don't eat "Irish food", because basically, there is no such thing.

Ooooh defensive aren't we? ;)

Hmm...
Why do you need/want to like Polish food, Teffle?
Any particular reason?

You don't live in Poland, you are not Polish? So now that would be really interesting to know. lmao

Is a Polish woman the reason? ;-)

I don't like Turkish food, I do not live in Turkey, so what?
