Life / Are Polish people so chaotic and disorganized like Germans say? [89]

You are a German, so you are automatically a Nazi, a robot without feelings, you're arrogant and you feel superior, and you are always waiting for a chance to invade your neighbors. Common "knowledge" on PF - get used to it. Much better than simply being called "disorganized", isn't it?

cool stereotypes. i can live with it now here on pf and i could it before. nothing really changes... ;)

Perfect Germans

I would rather call them fascist dehumanized robots .

tnx for the compliment. at least it shows that there was sth human...a long time ago...

poles are cool. punkt.

As the Soviets and Serbs have proven...

u arent slavic, right? so dont participate in this discussion if u dont know what i mean. get my drift? ;)

Didn't you say you're a German? :)

yes, so what. as i mnetioned above, those people i described i dont belong to. furthermore my 1st job after university lead me to the ex blok countries and mostly to poland where i had more than 20 projects as projectengineer all over the country. i like poles a lot. the rest is just stereotypes and propaganda.

better meet people in person and then come back with an opinion.

Have you ever been to Poland? Have you ever experienced the Polish work ethic in person?

Ah...no. You haven't. You've clearly never experienced the wonders that is the urząd, and the working hours designed to suit them. Work ethic? What work ethic?

yes, i have. just read my comment above. smart people btw dont have to travel somewhere to make up the mind. better it is yes, but not the ulimate if u r openminded.

What do you mean? What toll?

slavic mentality is keeping the person human and doesnt make and 'order maschine' like germans from it.

Hey observer, can you cite such a comment made these days by Germans or you are just following stereotypes.

those are stereotypes AND observations. arrogance of germans and their thinking of superiority is endless, esp with those who are less educated and have zero exp with poles...

The claim that Polish people are chaotic and disorganized was indeed a tenet of Prussian propaganda used to justify their rule over Western Poland and it is still used by Germans, and others, to give them a feeling of superiority over Poles.

History / Polish civilization is older than English or French. Why do Poland follow them? [64]

Arrogant??? Huh? She asked a question that would take books to fully answer, I gave her a short but correct answer, whats arrogant about that?

sorry dude, but it passed to me like that. competition? me? germany? not necessary i suppose.

You obviously view it as some compitition, a bit odd though, when was germany created, the late 18 hundreds wasnt it? :)

whateva. who starts late often comes is 1st. :)

News / US to deploy Patriot missiles to Poland [404]

the topic is serious, i mean ww1 and who started i etc and whose 'guilt' is it so why not make it a little bit more funny?

esp when the blame for beginning the war is always going to the wrong side

can we just stick to this, please: US to deploy Patriot missiles to Poland

Language / Passion means pasja in Polish [12]

teffle, i'll try to.

f.e. in german u may say sth like

'he is passioned about his latest fashion collection'

or

'he is with passion pursuing his job career' meaning that the 1st connection for passion isnt sex.

point is that in different countries/cultures the normal and usual connection for the word passion is not always sex, what means that maybe there are other priorities rather than physical/sexual exitement. like job, arts etc.

History / Are Poles grateful to the Russians for winning the war? [120]

It's very much a "what if" scenario - there's always the possibility that the Russians would have given up the "prize" of Berlin and simply concentrated on giving Poland a hiding instead. If they had wanted to, they could have destroyed Poland at that point.

correct, but the meaning and symbol of berlin was enough motivation for them to be there 1st, and of course later on strategic when they noticed what power they have. under no price they would have given it to us/f/eng.

History / POLAND: EASTERN or CENTRAL European country? [1080]

PS my wife is from Serbia and she says she is from Eastern Europe.

:) they have beautiful women there....

perhaps this explains why you think that Poland can be lumped in with Serbia as an eastern european country as
both countries are east of Yeovil

the definition where poland is located is now POLITIC and NOT geographic. if f.e. germany and france are geographically central europe then yes, poland is eastern europe. since poland is now member of the eu it sees itself as western eruope. furthermore the 40+ years in the wp gave the mark of an eastern country. that when the cold war was on and europe devided in east, wp, bad and west, nato, good ;)

would I be right in thinking that you are a bit of a Nazi?

crap.

What an offensive thing to say.

he seems to be a troll.

History / Are Poles grateful to the Russians for winning the war? [120]

They'd have lost because they didn't have a viable bomb - and it's well documented that their supply lines were incredibly overstretched in order to get to Berlin first.

obviously not overstretched enough. ;) they came in 1st. :)

Poland made a massive mistake in WW2 by not waiting until the Russians were almost at the gates of Berlin - they could never have survived a ruthless Polish attack on their supply lines, especially if the Poles were covertly aided by the Americans.

nice combination of 'ifs', but it did not turned out that way as history showed. its quite interesting how some people here on pf are trying to minimize the ussr part of the ww2 victory against nazi germany. are u people ussr/russian phobics? ;)

poles my guess at the end of the war would not have been cared for who came for liberation. ussr came 1st. punkt.

Language / Passion means pasja in Polish [12]

in the last couple of days it came to my mind that in different cultures the word 'passion' has different meanings and is associated with different things. in some languages there is not even and equivalent translation for the word existing. here some translations:

passion

in german leidenschaft

in french la passion

in spanish pasion

in russian страсть

in polish pasja

in serbian stras

in turkish tutku

please be so kind and give me some lets say 2-3 assiciations with the word passion.

History / Are Poles grateful to the Russians for winning the war? [120]

are you guys saying that the Soviets would have won that war without any help? Don't be ridiculous.

yes, hupothetically. the war would have lastet longer, but the resources and manpower were on the russian side. dont forget all their inventions at the end of the war which were copied by us later on, because some of the russian engineers had to flee...same story with the german inventions. remember wernher von braun???

i think poles in some way are grateful. all that torture by the nazi regime...ok, also the russian time is not flawless, but imo better than nazi time.

Poles would have been better off if the krauts and rooskies had annihilated each other with Uncle sam finally moving in to mop up what was left.

wishful thinking, yankee.

btw, tho manage what was left is some sort of standard us military strategy, ha? ;)

That's what General Patton wanted to do but was stopped by the White House.

poor general. no balls to do it alone. :)

Sascha, przyznaj sie kacapie pierdolony ze jestes Sovietem i moze bede wtedy z toba rozmawial.

1st, this part of pf is ONLY in english.

2nd, why insults? did i insult u? very bad style, dude.

3rd, i am german.

4th, i was just using ur stupid logic. i know its hard to see when ur stupid. scheisse, oder? ;))

Just like the Soviets "liberated" the Nazi camps only to reopen (some) them right after the war and kept there their political opponents (mainly Poles).

u hate the soviets, right? r u maybe from east berlin? ;)

History / Are Poles grateful to the Russians for winning the war? [120]

Poland was never liberated by the Soviets

that means by ur logic they were never occupied.

Poland was invaded and Poles were enslaved by the Soviets for over 4o years

yes, and there were slave camps....

Poles don't have any reason to be grateful to the Soviets at all!!!

agaihn, by ur logic, no, but for real maybe yes?

History / Are Poles grateful to the Russians for winning the war? [120]

Of course Poles would rather not be dead, but having their freedom taken away again afterwards is barely a substitute.

i mostly agree with what you commented, but honestly, do you think poles or anyone else in europe(all countries under us influence) are 'really free'?

i think that is a big lie. maybe it is not felt directly, but think about it. ;)

so you would rather your people and culture and the very concept of a polish nation become slowly erased and been nothing more than slaves to the Volkduetch.

slowly, very slowly, king. u honestly have the illusion that the amercanization of almost all europe is not some kind of erasion of culture? furthermore at the end most of europe is somehow 'connected' to us in that way that they are 'volksamericans'.

I am grateful to uncle Joe for winning the War, Britain would not have won alone.

btw, 'uncle' did NOT win the war alone. there were 4 allies who did that.

News / Poles are able to forgive their enemies - how noble. [68]

will Americans ever forget 9/11?

why? what for? the civilians who lost close people not, but the us admin is using that in their purpose. to reign with fear and lead a lets say very pragmantic foreign policy.

It is difficult to forget this tragedy.

what tragedy? one could also say that the us admin sacrified lives to achieve sth. ever thought that way?

News / Has there been an influx of Polish people into Germany? [21]

No, thank you, Sascha, no ill feelings, I just can`t.

its ok. probably both sides are better off. ;)

i would prefer more slavicization of germanics from polish people. we need that to be more human. ;)
