News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [395]

Regarding Russia...far more democratic than authoritarian...not to say there aren't problems, but seriously.

You seem so cozy wrapped up in those delusions.
The propaganda that Russia cranks out is stunning.
Sometimes I show the online English version of Pravda to friends so we can laugh at the spin that Ruskies put on current events. Its better than the Late Show with David Letterman.

Food / WHY IN POLAND PEOPLE DON'T USE ICE? [142]

I prefer cool, not cold beverages when exercising or when it is hot out.
I can slam a cool drink, but a cold one gives me "brain freeze".

Drink warm or cool water during a workout?

News / Poland - the least liked German neighbour. [210]

All of a sudden germany wants to change the rules.

I actually think you can thank the US for that....we started the financial meltdown felt around the globe. *winces*
Be glad Germany still had some money to lend...they fared better than the rest as a result of conservative, frugal financial practices. Unlike so many others....including Wall Street.

News / Smoking ban in Polish bars and restaurants (AT LAST!) [400]

In the US smoking is banned just about everywhere except outside!
And in Arizona, even if you are outside you have to be about 20 feet away from a door to a public building so the smoke won't blow inside.

Too many cute, young Poles smoke. Let's keep them pretty and handsome!
White teeth and fresh breath is way more sexy that stinky breath and fingers, and yellow teeth!

Get Healthy Europe!

History / Pomerania -a Polish land since the creation of Poland and the German invaders. [60]

Wow, I still we are still fighting over cities that had Polish/German inhabitants! LOL
Anything NEW on PF?

Why not make one big thread an call it : "Contested Cities of Polish-German History: Gdansk, Silesia, Pomerania"

Then we can add any other cities that feel left out! :)

One stop fighting, you know, get it all done in one thread!

History / Pomerania -a Polish land since the creation of Poland and the German invaders. [60]

LOL

Bratski just can't help himself sometimes! *grins*

As for "welcome back" , thanks but I never really left. I pop in a read threads every once in a while, but so much of it is the same stuff recycled, that I didn't really have anything to say. :)

I was not completely surprised that there is still fighting over places like Pomerania. Seems like in any place where there was more than one entity occupying the space at any given time, it causes a rift between the occupants past, present and future!

After reflecting on how ardent these discussions are (after how many years?) I now have a better understanding of why ppl in the Middle Eat will never be able to share the holy places among them selves. There is something in human nature that wants to say "this is mine, not yours!" that no can share. Oh well.

USA, Canada / Polish person in America (firing a gun for the first time) [18]

I got a chance to go to a firing range this summer. I tested a Glock 9 mm and a few other hand guns, then an AR 15.

I found that I am a pretty good shot, which I didn't think would happen. I also found that I like the AR 15 better than hand guns.

Maybe someone can tell me this.....how does the weight of the AR 15 compare with similar weapons of its class? Is it heavier or lighter than other semi automatics?
