UK, Ireland / Why can't unemployed Polish people on benefits just leave UK and go home please? [240]

I wouldn't be happy if I was Polish and I knew someone that was english for 20 years and could not speak to them, I'd demand they go home.

Why?I don't care if they don't speak Polish as it's only for their benefit to speak the language of the country they live in.If they don't want to learn, let it be so but they shouldn't complain that they can't get done simpliest things because, surprise very few Poles speak English. One can live in Chicago whole life and get every single thing done without speaking a word of English but I can't imagine myself being miserable outside Polish community.

so they live in the uk and boo our national anthem

Do they? How do you know the ones booing live in the UK?

Life / Poland: The land of -isms [63]

They were pretending to be some Polish,

They pretend to be Polish all the time but neither of them is.

It was supposed to be a criticism of the attitude of some Poles to Ukrainians coming here to work and doing jobs like cleaning ladies, etc., in their mind.
After the sh1tstorm ensued they were saying "don't shoot the messenger", I guess.

I bet you are "young, educated and from a large city" since you are buying this explanation. It was one of their Polonophobic rants as very few Poles can afford Ukrainian maid.

I do hope this isn't going to be another case of 'That foreigner is criticising my fellow Pole! I must defend my fellow Pole!'.

He is as much Polish as you are Harry. It is not any secret that Kupa Wojewódzki is a Jew.

if I mention the fact that Poland still needs to progress

What makes you think that you are the right person to tell "Poland" what she needs?Leave it to the Poles and mind your own business.

Because we live in Poland and can comment on what we see.

You can comment, true, but you are not entitled (and never will be) to be telling us what we need or should do.

you've criticised Poland constantly on here.

I criticize (and will continue doing so) oppressive antiPolish regime which is currently governing Poland but never Poland herself.

Because you and your ilk clearly aren't.

Another one.Morda krótko przybłędo! or out!

European homogenous country that needs to progress in order to function better as a future multicultural nation.

As a past multicultural country we have learned that multiculturalism doesn't work. Assimilation yes, multiculturalism no.

He is exactly the kind of person unpleasant stereotypes of Poles are derived from.

I am a very pleasant person but if you came to my home and kept telling me that I need to move my furniture around because you don't like the current setup i would lose my patience after maximum 2 hours and knocked you the **** down then throw out the door.Poland is the home for Poles so don't you tell us how do we need to set up our furniture because you are only a guest.

it seems that Americans don't criticize you for 'moving their furniture', do they?

Because I don't (anymore). At first I was pointing out to them things I didn't like but their answer usually was "Why don't go home if you don't like it here?".And you know what, they were right! Now when asked I like everything.

USA, Canada / Why do Americans (and Canadians) hate Polish people? [226]

I thought you were against the furniture to be moved when you were in someone else's house.

I don't,when told Polish joke (it happened),I just politely ask them "So you basically saying that I am stupid because I am from Poland?"That's all I am doing. So far every single one apologized to me. Some time ago at work the manager an American born in the US to Polish parents, made a comment about other guy who is from Poland in which he called him "Polack" so I asked him "Do you know that "Polack" is considered ethnic slur"?He said "Oh,I am a Polack too" me "I don't care what you are, "Polack" is ethnic slur and you should not be using it ,specially in a work place".I never heard him saying "Polack" again.I am not affraid to speak up. I had problems renting place from Long&Foster, they were telling me AC doesn't work and this and that but I said "I don't care you can fix it later" because I really needed this place right away.It was still a problem until I said "Look lady it seems to me that you don't want rent it to me because I am a foreigner!" an hour later I was moving in.Speak up,at work talk to manager,if that won't help, talk manager of the manager.Just don't be a coward FFS.

Real Estate / Can foreigner buy apartment in Warsaw, Poland? [39]

Ah yea, it's pure dodge and I think the 2 pairs of them are clowns for doing it.

Why?It's called "Rent till you own" in the US and it can be better deal than the mortgage. It is simply a different way of paying for something.Instead of borrowing money from the bank you basically borrow from the owner.Treat rent as interest on loan and there you go.Of course there also tax issues, value of money in time and so on involved but everything can be calculated.

Language / Should I learn Polish or she learn English? [83]

Polish is extremely difficult to learn, I've been learning for about 3 years andI still sound like a retarded turnip.

You (westerners) all do.But no worries you won't be taken for a retard unless in addition to sounding like a retard you also look like one.

Food / Are eggs in Poland refrigerated/not refrigerated? [33]

It made no sense to them that I refrigerated my eggs.

Very strange.I always thought eggs have to be kept in a fridge and I am surprised it is not exactly true.

Also, it blew their minds if I boiled a dozen eggs and then put the hard-boiled eggs in the fridge and ate them over the course of a few days.

Why?People in Poland do that too but mainly during and shortly after Easter.

Then I left for Toruń and eventually got so sick that I spent three days in a hospital.

I got sick (food poisoned) after eating fast food in the US at least 4 times (Wendy's and McDonalds).
