Love / How do Polish boys feel about foreign girls? [163]

this doesn't change the fact that most girls who have high demands are the ones who stay single. It's just an observation.

You're right.
And the ones who do get into a relationship tend to either scare/irritate/humiliate the man so much that he can't be bothered anymore. Or they take all his money ;D lol.

Either that or the men become doormats, as someone suggested in another thread.

Anyway, in the words of the Joker "why so serious?"
This forum shouldnt be about personal insults, play nicely kids!

Love / Polish men are complete doormats (especially after they get married) [125]

to most Polish men that I know their beer (more like vodka) buddies and footy match come first no matter what.

Haha, yeah my bf says his priorities lie in the order of:
1.Tyskie
2.Me
3.Friends and family

:) lol, although this is a joke between us there may be a little truth in it for some haha :)

I don't think its a Polish thing, but just some people are like that. I'd quite happily carry my own bags, (or even help him with his when we go shopping) open my own doors, do my own washing up. But he will quite often take bags off me, take the sponge out of my hand when I start to clean...etc etc. I grew up in a family where everything is shared, whereas my boyfriend did a lot for himself growing up and wasnt treated well by his parents. Maybe this is some way of him trying to compensate for it! I don't know........

Im not sure its cultural in the sense of nationality, but just upbringing etc. But maybe thats just my expirience.

Celtic girls are of my taste. They have more grace and they're less likely to grow fat in their 30's :-].

Charming! I bet the girls are falling at your feet ;P lol
I think someone said this, but race/creed really shouldnt be a problem. I know you will always get people who stick to relationships with people of their own nationality, but hey, mix the genes up!

Food / Traditionally-Polish salads, help needed [28]

My boyfriend made me a lush Polish salad, he says is traditional in his family...

Raw chopped cabbage, red peppers (diced), cooked white rice, LOTS of black pepper, pickled cucumber/gherkin.....and some mayonaisse.
Might sound odd but was GORGEOUS. Black pepper v.important...

:) Hope this helps

Food / Polish polskie pierogi recipe (prepared at home) [72]

Dec 30, 09, 23:32 - Thread attached on merging:
Need a recipe (easy if possible) for PIEROGI! :)

My friend has just been back to Poland for Christmas and brought back some pierogi. I know it has mushroom and sauerkraut in, but how do you make the outside?? is it like pasta or pastry?

They were really tasty and we've eaten them all between three of us so I want to have a go at making some to suprise them ;)

Any recipes would be appreciated...
Thanks

Language / Nice Polish phrases to say to men [76]

ooshak

Love 'bejbasku', pronounced 'beybasku right?
Am getting to grips with the proper pronunciation of characters now, and spending time with three of the guys who all speak to each other in polish is helping-recognise much more, so they cant away with talking about me so much now ;)

'Misiu' is teddy/bear isn't it?
I got called that the other day, and (I dont know how to spell it) something that I think means 'sun'. Soneczku?? Sorry for butchering the spelling... :(

Language / Nice Polish phrases to say to men [76]

Thankyou :)
but everyone's contribution is welcome and MUCH appreciated ;)
To be fair some of these would be funny, he's got a fantastic sense of humour...
Sometimes some of the translations from English-Polish dicitonaries are too literal, so I find that awkward, but so does he when he tries to call me English words (he got confused about 'honey', couldnt understand why I would want to be called something that was sticky and messy ;)

But as I said, everyone's contributions very very helpful :)

Language / Nice Polish phrases to say to men [76]

Merged: English Girl needing affectionate words to call a Polish boyfriend :)

I'm totally new to this,
but a Polish guy I work with has just asked me out (in a sense, the language barrier is a problem ;P )
He calls me Skarbie and Kochanie
And I just wondered if anyone had any ideas for words to call him? I'm friends with his two flatmates (also polish) and all they tell me are pretty rude words :)

HELP!
