News / Official language of EU (is not Polish) [119]

UE is the delicate institution, so we should take care about well ballancing. Therefore language of every nation is officicial and this is good idea, looking for national pride.

There should be some working languages ( like english german, french spanish and iatalian)
but there wouldn`t be onle one official language.

News / Official language of EU (is not Polish) [119]

I have no problem with that Polish is not a major language in EU.

For example UE court use as working language-- french.

I`ve been in Brussels and I know that English and other language ( French German and Spanish) are required.

But I think that German as a only officiall language of UE, is not a good idea.

BB have you ever been in France ?? Try use there english... This is a big mistake.:)

"...."Poles will riot instead of learning german"...

I didn`t say it.

the problem will appear when you try to force teach german like english is teaching now.
The riots may appear when you announce that UE is German( when you tell that german is only officiall UE language)

Where is the policing, jeden?

SEANUS

police is always on the Market Center, visitor wrote that Police were there, but like I said before

Poles have other tradition with police, administration and State in general. For houndreds years, States ( Russian, german, etc, nazists german, russian communist`s, ) were our enemies, so we don`t trust State, Police, administration. It is changing now, but Poles still don`t like police ( in general ofc)

So sometimes police is afraid of Poles ;)

jonni

I only tell you what i see everyday, maybe people who stay in expensive hotels don`t
**** of our monuments, at 3 o clock am

I knew it as far as native speakers ofc. You are the biggest nation in EU, but there is no big difference between French / English... Also there are a lot of italians speakers too.

I didn`t tell about Polish, Only 40 000 000 people in EU speak this languge ;)

PS there are a lot of poeple who don`t want German language as a official UE.

Could you imagine French / Poles speaking German .? Sry

Greek (114,000

hheh what a crap,

Personally I don`t know any one whose first language is German.

I know few people who are studing German languge, probably is the third language chosen ( after french, and sapnish), but maybe i`m wrong.

The German minority in Poland numbers about 300,000, most with German and Polish nationality

You were talking abot 500 000???

In German are 240 000 people speak Polish.

I speak a bit english, italian, and french, I hate learning foreign languges.

The nurses were rude and refused to talk English and said that they should talk in Polish.

Everybody would be rude at 3 o clock am, being forced to speak in foreign languge.

Not averybody in Poland have to speak english.

Taxi driver didn`t have to take you where you want... However he was a swine that he didn`t want to help you.

We Poles don`t like Police very much[;)] so they were afraid of wpierdol.

f stop:
I know it's hard, but you have to face it - all these languages (German, Polish, Chech..etc) are dying already - the ones that are going to matter are english, chinese and spanish.

1000 years ago official language of every Country in europe was Latin. Later every civilized

person spoke French. English era started in XIX century. But minority languages are still alive. Have no fear.:)

PS: I don`t want speak German. In Poland only few people speak this language, and recognition this language as only official in EU, would coused riots.

History / Royal Family still in Poland? [79]

I remember reading Poland had an elected king?

Our kings were ellected from XIV century to XVIII century. We were vote fore them like now for president.( from 1569, earlier kings were elected by Senat ) But they were kings to their death.

We had 2 femals kings. Not quens but femals kings.

Kings had no power...
In XV and XVI century people ( nobilities) ruled the Country, in XVII and XVIII aristocracy had a big impact for country.

Poland is one of the oldest demokracy in the World

I`m Polish

btw where are you from?

History / Poland is great Mother of all Slavs from Baltic to Balkan [177]

Zna pan powiedzenie „Polak, Węgier, dwa bratanki”?

Tak, to jedyny zwrot, który znam po polsku! (śmiech). To bardzo prawdziwe określenie. Myślę, że Węgrzy kochają Polaków. Wśród narodów europejskich polski jest wśród tych najbardziej przez nas lubianych.

if Hungary betray Poland

impossible

I would like to see Hungary, Serbia and Poland toghether.

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [393]

Well, the so-called uprisings: weren't they more like isolated incidences in a handful of cities?

hahaa

In comparison with all of this uprising, the Seccession War was an incident.

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [393]

IMHO Country has to have possibility to send quickly army where is it needed.

The proffessional army is better ( what is proved) better organized, cheaper, therefore have better weapons.

Conscrptions has higher morals when defend fatherland. But is not disciplined like proffessinal army.

The solution ---create proffessional army using Poles. Nota as USA do with BlackWater.

BTW Poland lived with Germany for some centuries peacfully

1) Proffessional army is better and cheaper than conscription.

This is wise choice but I think that every man in Poland should be educated with shooting.

there is no reason to attack Poland, we are peacfull nation wchich can be also very bothersome for invaders.;)

We don't suffer romanticism if that's what you mean....

I know, your nation is very pragmatist. Sometimes good for you.

that my Wehrmacht-Grandpa had a close hungarian friend

good for your grandpa, Hungarians as you see are awsome.

Sometimes pragmatism would serve you better, really! ;)

Sometimes are higher values than pragmatism, and raison d'etat, but I agree that pragmatism is not a polish strong point.

Probably every east European think similar to me... There is this differance wchich I` ve written about, on the beginig in this thread.

You People of western europe ( I think especially english) have the other kind of view facts, and you traet your allies practically. You have your own interests, we have diffrent values.

You only show ( in what you wrote) that my idea is true!;)

BB so you deny that

Pole - Bem is a national hungarian hero

that Hungarians helped us in 1863 in resistance.

that Hungarian wanted to send us 20 thousnds cavalry in 1920

that they didn`t want to fight against us, even that they were allie of agressor(Germany)

that they helped Warsaw insurgents in 1944

that Poles send a lot of material help in 1956.

That in 23 March is Polish-Hungarian firendshi day...

If you can`t deny the majority of above statements, You have to agree that there is something in this.

I said about this BB: https://polishforums.com/archives/2005-2009/history/poland-hungary-september-36395/

Éljen Magyarország!

Long live Hungary! Long live Polish-Hungarian friendship!

"Lengyel, magyar - két jó barát, együtt harcol, s issza borát."
"Polak, Węgier, dwa bratanki, i do szabli, i do szklanki."

STU

Seems to me that you shot yourself in the foot, didn't you :D?

NO

Hungarian weren`t nazis. They were only german short term allie.

I`m proud to be brother for Hungarians. Their help to Poland in 1939 was probably bigger than English, even they were opponents, and England was allie...

Like I quote above they didn1t allow Germany to attack Poland from south. England did nothing. ( in 1939)
