Work / Black English Teacher going to Wroclaw [247]

Daniel

There will be no problems, maybe people will stare at you, but Poles defenitly like looking into sb eys, it is not rude or agrresive. Ofc You will be other than others, however sometimes is a good thing.

2) pepeer gas ??/ only if you like to back home at night and you are going to live in bad " dzielnica"

3) don`t provoke Poles

- "USA is better Poland sucks"
- " I love your polish girls, they are so good in bed"
- " Poles are racists"
don`t say it never ever!!!

4) Don`t mention that Poland or Poles has some disadventages...

Real Estate / Assets in Poland from abroad; possible to sell property without my knowledge? [11]

Harry

There is no simple answer to that question. The general rule is no

you are wrong. she can do it without his permission

Those issuess are simple:

Art. 31. § 1. Przedmioty majątkowe nieobjęte wspólnością ustawową należą do majątku osobistego każdego z małżonków.

KR i O

Art. 36. § 1. Oboje małżonkowie są obowiązani współdziałać w zarządzie majątkiem wspólnym, w szczególności udzielać sobie wzajemnie informacji o stanie majątku wspólnego, o wykonywaniu zarządu majątkiem wspólnym i o zobowiązaniach obciążających majątek wspólny.

So If the apatament is a common proporty you have to permit, But if you didn`t sign a marriage agreement the appartament is her so she can do it with it whatever she wants/

Art. 37. § 1.

Travel / My (short) Poland experiences - bad luck? [142]

If you don't think a suggestion that you take xyz back to [named country] has xenophobic undertones then it's worse than I thought

So is worse than you thought

Jeden, I quoted two sentences and they are both short - I don't need to bold both quotes do I?

For racist replace xenophobic.

(Fair enough mafketis - but don't tell me you didn't know what I meant)

If you don't think a suggestion that you take xyz back to [named country] has xenophobic undertones then it's worse than I thought.

I don't see how there is any other way to read the assertion that "there is no machismo in Poland" as being blindly jingoistic - not to mention utterly illogical.

So is worse than you thought. She simply doeasnt`t want be trated like irish girls by irish men, If You find our gentlmen way of act toward women as sexist.

There is other way... There is no machismo in Poland is a true statemant.

LOL. Well done. In one post you have managed to demonstrate 2 of my original observations: a comment with racist undertones and the old belief that Poland is great and has no negatives.

could you bold this part wchi is racist and the other wchis suppose to show belief that Poland is great and has no negatives. ??

IMO she only show you that this kind of sexism wchich you noticed in Poland is proper way of treating real woman by real gentleman

Aesthetically, generally bleak soulless and depressing atmosphere.

True, it is famouse slavic melancholy. You are not used to it so you called it depressing atmosphere.

Many people have a chip on their shoulder about Poland - we are great everyone else is crap - type attitude. From food to architecture to education ... anything really.

True, We can complain about oureselfes but if foreigner try, we will be very angry ;) it is like telling jokes about jews onle they can do it. ;)

Homophobia, racism and a vague sexism seems to be rife.

maybe homo... and racism but sexism??? could you explain?

Stony faced, almost silent population when going about their daily business

linked with melancholy.

Appalling customer service in shops - even if you try in broken Polish.

yeahh

Non-verbal rudeness - lots of disdainfull looks, people looking you up and down, turning their noses up etc - even in cities.

so when we are looking is bad also bad is when we turning noses up? i don`t get it;)

Life / Any treatment centres for homos in Poland? [455]

It is offensive for gay men and denies people their choice.

why ? Everybody knows that homosexualism is a diseas/ or the kind of defect, and some of gays want to be cured. Let them know where they can do it in Poland.

If we can discuss on PF where gays can go to the party in Poland we can also talk about this.

History / When will you Poles give back German land and the cities which you robbed? [557]

Between us it's clear who is the stronger, isn't it? Proven several time in recent history.

Isn`t. BB

Proven several times that it depends of situation. Remember about some slaps wchich you get in 1525. And begging for help in 1683. I show You my mercy and I won`t mention about Grunwald (1410) and battle in Byczyna 1588

As far as Danzing I would like to remind You that in 1454 citizens of Gdańska gave Poland money to create army and to incorporate their city to Crown. So did they feel conection with their german overlords???

Bismarcks Kulturkampf being solely directed against Poles to opress especially them.

Poles was the biggest minority in Prussia, so Kulturkampf "touch" espescially them.

That being a Pole in Prussia had been pure terror...

Have you ever heard about Września? - pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strajk_dzieci_wrzesi%C5%84skich

or Drzymała-- pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micha%C5%82_Drzyma%C5%82a

In Polish sry. Deal with it ;)

That Germans eat polish babies for breakfast..
probably not true, but who knows ;) just kidding.

Yeah, well..there is a reason that Prussia was so advanced...all this infrastructure and industrialisations has to be paid by someone.
Also Bismarcks welfare laws (which had been also for polish workers) had been expensive...

Taxes went mostly for army wchich was smashed in battles with Napolean. Jena and Aurstadt.(?)

2) welfare is badddddddd ;)

History / When will you Poles give back German land and the cities which you robbed? [557]

Danzig still stayed a german prosperous center of trade full of Germans under german law and speaking german (till 1945) that is!

maybe BB but in XvIII Those germans prefer to be part of Poland than go to Prussia.
Thi is the fact. Gdańsk/Danzing was the most loyal polis city, their citizens were loyal to Poland even after first partition when Prussia took the all cost. Only the "german" city stay polish ;)

Love / In Poland - guys opinion about brazilian girls [21]

There is a opinion that girls from South America are easy in this meaning that picture of brazilian girl kissing with several guys on the same party is quite normal.

BUT. I have never been in Brasilia so I don`t know.

I met one brazilian girl and she was quite cute, but not captivating.

PS: I`m Polish ;)

Shellys

You've evidently never been to Italy or Greece

I probably know better Italy than Poland, and in Greece I have been several times.

But what`s your point?

that there are MANY beautiful women that hail from these countries

Yeah I agree. But, read my post once again. The point of my post is not beaty of european women but discimination, and my prefernces were only examples, of discrimination wchich is present in our life. Discrimination in positive meaning.

If You still don`t understand , You should exchange the word " italian " and put there blond.

The sense won`t change. ;)

Language / WISŁA or VISTULA?? [46]

As far as Hungary, In Middle Ages Hungarian were called in Europe " Ungarians" and Hungary " Ungaria" although some copyists wrote this word with" V " Vngaria or Vngary

Vngary sound very similar to polish " Węgry"

Hey, guys what`s wrong with you? She prefers english speakers than others. Discrimination is normal. I discriminate ugly girls and prefer sexy. One day I may wake up and say to myself - "damn, Now I want to meet only greek/italian girls. And This is absolutely NORMAL".

History / Polish civilization is older than English or French. Why do Poland follow them? [64]

We have other definitions.

When you want to count architecture like roads as signs for civilization then you have to count Hitler's autobahns too.

Yes I count. Germany in 39 was civilisated country, maybe a bit mad but civilisated. ;)

The culture and civilisations stands oppose to the nature. When society appears, the first what people make is border beetwen them and nature. Walls, closed houses, wooden palisades. This show that culture and civilisation is a creation sth. new sth. what doesn`t have anything in common with nature. WE ARE NOT PART OF WILDLIFE. It doesn`t mean that is good, but this is CIVILISATION.

History / Polish civilization is older than English or French. Why do Poland follow them? [64]

Yes BB indeed. Civilisated doesn`t mean good, honest, just or fair. Civilisation don`t have positive or negative meaning. It is neutral.

Watch the Paulina Movie on yt. Romans are civlisated and Germans are barbarian although Germans are defending their land, and Romans are trying to conqeur and enslave them.

Did you know that skill of bridge building Romans learned from Slavs?

I didn˛t know and I don˛t belive until you show some examples of slav architecture older than roman

Or shall we just mention Polish `Sarmatism` as early seed of democracy in modern sense of the word.

This is true.

I noticed BB that you like to call sb idiots nazi etc.

I gave you my definition of civilisation, you don`t have to agree with me, if you like be like druids - OK then. I will stay with Romans. ;)

PS

Yeah....I'm losing my patience quicker than I was used to...sorry...
