Do you know the number? Because I can honestly say I think it's exaggerated. A lot of the ones I saw was a 'normal guy' that with increasing control increased violence. One example I know quite closely hit his women for the first time 9 months after marriage when she was 3 months pregnant. No 'bad boy' behaviour, stable job, And you have the femme fatale on the opposite side so I guess both sexes have their cryptonite.
And man like Iron ( a bit of assumption here) would be the first to moan that we should restore more gender specific split with gentle, fragile women go for strong, masculine guy. Sorry but that doesn't sound like your local collage professor but more of a guy with loose fists.

Even if that was true (which I don't think it is) poor choosing of a partner doesn't justify being beaten up, raped or killed.

Pregnancy is visible after several months, appointments start at about 3 months (with scans) etc. You don't just up and leave the person you love because your ex said she's pregnant. You talk, you make plans etc.

And most parents don't talk about those issues. Period. They don't feel comfortable doing it and they don't have the knowledge.
