Real Estate / Poland Housing prices in July 2010 [129]

All these property sites saying that property price are set to improve in 2011, is a sort of doublethink,to improve in their game means for the bubble to get even bigger. Even though from a vast majority perspective to improve would mean the bubble to burst. Its like the government stating on the news that electricity bills in 2011 are set to improve, would this mean they are going to go up??

The reason for the bubble is emigration to the the west, this is obvious, the other factors played a part, but not a major influence.

I think one of the reason for the bubble surviving in Poland may be due the amount of money actually saved by Polish people working abroad as opposed to the living on credit mentality of the rest. A large percentage of the property purchasing population still have a sack of cash and the sellers know this. It all a game of poker now. The sack of cash is emptying and developers are going into massive debt.

you're like a broken record you just keep saying the same things over and over.

False statement my old joker. I ask a question and seek an answer. Simple, and if attacked with snark, I ask the question again.

Real Estate / Is this a bad time to buy an apartment in Poland? [142]

Is this a bad time to buy an apartment in Poland?

Is this not the question?

I think the person is talking about the prices and have they come down, not about kitchens and the fact that you are only buying a shell.

Real Estate / Is this a bad time to buy an apartment in Poland? [142]

It is my opinion that this thread is going way off-topic. Personally I think the people bickering should do it somewhere else. The participants have made it quite clear that they only continue the discussion to insult the other party.

This is exactly what I was thinking, all this sh1te talk about everything and nothing to do with the actual question. Its the same guys over and over again.

What most people want to know in the real world is will the 2005-07 price explosions reverse. If no is the(your) answer, which is OBVIOUSLY what the main players here think, well then move on to a different thread and discuss these minor details of no significance to the big picture.

UK, Ireland / Why Polish people decided to move to the UK, and their experiences. [46]

Why Poles are in Ireland..

Well the average industrial wage in Poland is 7500 euro
in Ireland it is 37000 euro,So this is the reason why Poles etc are everywhere in Ireland.
So money is the big player and still is, my close friend applied for a graphic design job 3 days ago outside Lublin, she was offered 500 euro a month before tax. This is a third of what you would get in Ireland, for sitting on your arse while on the dole and doing nothing.

Anyone I Speak to who is Polish, simply say that life is much easier in the UK and Ireland and that you have to work real hard in Poland just to survive. A large section of the Polish population are on 40 year(and even 50yr) mortgages and paying over 60 % of their income, all due to the property bubble 2005-07.

But according to the monopolizing hand full of non Poles here,
There is no property bubble, Poles are on up to 2000 euro a month,The economy is booming and getting even better. All is well, please invest before its too late.

Poland celebrates: 'good for Lodz, bad for Ireland'

DELL closes Limerick and goes for Lodz!" The 'Gazeta Wyborcza' was, like most Polish media yesterday, predictably delighted with the bad news.
"Good for Lodz, bad for Ireland", said another Polish headline as the jobs announcement swept across Europe.

here are 1000s upon 1000s of people who earn less than €37K.
there are 1000s and 1000s of workers in Poland, also who earn far far less than the average industrial wage,so its all relative...
The average industrial wage may be a lot more than the average worker is on, but it is perfect for comparing and contrasting countries, and far from meaningless.

The average industrial wage in Ireland at the moment is without doubt taking a nose dive but at the time of the mass emigration from eastern europe 2005-07 the AW was 37000 in Ireland.

Would you prefer and trust an article in a tabloid?

UK, Ireland / English Films..What Do Poles Think of Them? [33]

Its not that english comedy is good, its just the west/english speaking world and its complex network of expression. From Lenny Bruce/Richard Prior/Hicks to Billy Connolly,Tommie Tiernan. The goon show, monthy Phyton,Spitting image ,Harry Enfield, the fast show, Bottom and Father Ted brought the stage to the screen. The whole evolution was holistic and equally involved English Irish, Scots, Welch, Americans. So will the English please stop bragging about how funny THEY are.

Life / Poland's population predictions [59]

On Polish news today, there a worries for the future employment of teachers due to the shrinking population. In the last 10 years alone Poland has a million less children. Looks like Poland better get its act together or it will be in the sh1t in the near future.

Life / Poland's population predictions [59]

Maslows' hierarchy of needs 1. Biological and Physiological needs - air, food, drink, shelter, warmth, sex, sleep, etc.

Shelter???

In 2010 Internet surveys showed that Poland is one of countries with rather high house price to income ratio (13.58 - it decreased from 23.90 in 2009)

All people need money to purchase shelter in a free capitalist society, unless you're a fox or a rabbit or something. This is fact.

History / Recent Lech Walesa interview made by VBS [30]

He comes a cross as very ego-centric,claiming he changed the world. He makes a few good points but then again dont we all. Cliches for popularity. I think the church in Poland needs a good kicking if the country is ever going to mature and undo the wounds inflicted by Stalin and co. So he needs to loose that watery right wing stance.

I hear he charges a gigantic fee for his speeches on the international stage, so he is lying when he says he is not fond of capitalism. To be honest I think Thatcher,Reagan and the right wing church called the shots at the end of the day,he was just the Polish 'human face' blowing shite about a third way;what ever the f0ck that is. From this interview he seems to be a big advocate of the "invisible hand" and free markets. Does he not realise that this is the Chicago boy philosiophy that has the world on its knees. I think he is a confused egocentric. The free-market Shock Therapy worked well on him.

News / Why is Poland developing so slowly or in the wrong direction? Who is responsible ? [317]

Regardless, you can't deny that Poland is better off now than before 10 years....

Not according to population.

In my opinion, the fact that Poland and its neighbors like Germany are getting along relatively well in comparison to the 1920's, 30's and 40's I don't think should be taken for granted.

This is a different era, invasion is now far more subtle. The tanks and missiles have been replaced by IMF loans and privatisation.

And in terms of not developing fast enough they have one of the fastest growing GDP in Europe!

sure dosen't Donald want to follow the path of Celtic Tiger Ireland. up up up up up up ooooops bang.

ill they be able to hack it here and accept that success in business takes time? Many that come back from the UK want to set themselves up but I wonder if the 'quick buck' mentality will have changed them. Simply put, people have to accept less money here and get on with it. Surely living a more Polish life takes precedence over a lot of cash anyway.

Poland is a huge country, maybe it will develop in parts closer to the west etc. There are small towns all over the east of the country that i can never see progressing.

Maybe Polish people will accept less money as the wages in the west decrease or taxes increase. I think Poland like everywhere at the moment is at a cross roads.
