It is a reciprocal agreement. The British are one of our largest ethnic minorities. Per capita, there are more Brits in Ireland, than Irish in Britain.
If you are unemployed and cannot support yourself after three months in another EU member state, you are open to deportation. Ergo, 50,000 Poles can be deported.

Before anyone starts with the EU gives money bla bla bla. Two words, fishing rights. The same reason a small country known as Iceland, situated in the middle of nowhere in a dire financial position, with a population of just 300,000 is still deciding on EU membership. Unlike the paddys they have not lost their Viking DNA and can fend and stand up for themselves as the weekends referendum showed.

If you plan to travel in the future, Polish citizens have more restrictions placed on them compared to British citizens. Its even difficult to get a holiday visa for the US, if you are Polish.
Maybe go down the dual-citizenship route? I wouldnt burn my bridges with the UK, if I was you.

Cooked meat manufacturer Forza AW effectively barred anyone but Poles for applying for jobs on its production line in East Anglia by insisting all staff speak the language fluently.
The company claimed it was necessary as all health and safety training was conducted in Polish.

Seanus, once you stop believing that the EU views its 27 members as sovereign states, things like this start to make sense.
The end game is 500 million consumers who view themselves as europeans and only europeans.
It really makes Poland look bad. Average salaries have gone up here so why the continued exodus?

If Ireland and the UK were really smart and gave two phucs about their citizens, they would implement a work permit scheme for all eastern europeans.
A suggestion if I may.
Join the lcoal Polish/British for europe society. I have recently become a member of the Ireland for europe society. I have only attended two meetings so far but once I get a foothold, I will be encouraging them to come out with the most ludicrous motions and press releases.
