Love / E-marriage - how successful among Poles? [21]

Yes, I'm well aware of that but why e-dating as opposed to actually going out and socializing?

Well, of course I can go out and just pick someone up from the bar no problem. But I'm quite well known around these parts and don't always want something a bit close to home. Plus I'd rather meet someone on my terms. E-dating plays a wee part in that.

Love / E-marriage - how successful among Poles? [21]

We live in modern times. E-dating is just another tool people use to meet each other. It's quite popular in Scotland but the majority of people who use the sites use them to find an FB.

I've used them in the past, met folk from them. No biggy.

Travel / Tell me all about Krakow! [42]

Not another Szkieletor...

Or hotel forum ;)

I am not saying another shopping mall is the answer but a museum to go with the one across the road (okay not the prettiest either but hey:)

They will knock it down and build an apartment complex.

UK, Ireland / Memorial garden in London and Douglas Scotland [11]

It would be a good idea if these places where some how noted down for the history books. A lot of them are in a state of disrepair though hold significant stories about the struggles the 2 peoples fought against.

Life / 200zl mandat and 3 points for not wearing seatbelts? [75]

Think Germany or UK and the way they just assume you have done something wrong/illegal.

No they didnt assume, they knew you had broken the law and punished you accordingly.

Reminds me of the time I was pulled in the UK for going TOO SLOW. On what basis?

Because you were a danger to other drivers?

Because only drunk men or criminals drive slowly when they see the police!!

Or yourself.

This whilst a murder, rape, robbery and mugging were all taking place around the corner (actually that's not true, but I'm sure we all get the point). I just hope we don't see the "send the shooting squad, a teenager's just stolen a Mars bar" mentality here.

Well done, attempt to turn a simple thing like not wearing a seatbelt and try to compare it to rape ect....
You broke the law, and u knew it whilst doing it. Suck it up and accept it. You have no god given right to be let off.

Love / Valentines Day & Polish men [130]

The day was first established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD by the RCC. Though doubt it had many of it's modern day practises. The RCC removed it from the calender in 1969.

USA, Canada / Moved back from Canada to Poland:). Here are the reasons why. [868]

Depression, hopelessness, cognitive rigidity, suicidality,.These men are angry. They are angry with themselves (expressed as self hatred and depression), and with women.

What a stupid thing to come out with...

Canadians are well aware of how much misery the wind chill can add to an already frigid day in winter.

When was the last time you lived in Canada?

A recent survey indicated that 82 per cent of Canadians use wind chill information to decide how to dress before going outside in the winter.

That's normal in any country.

In Toronto it is so cold in the wintertime that it is almost unbearable to take a walk in the park the wind chills the temperature more than 10 degrees down.

Last winter I was in Poland it was -18c, and with strong winds. So what's your point?

Food / The 12 dishes of Poland on Christmas Eve. [51]

I wonder if they would be willing to share the egg stuffing recipe... I think I'll mail them.

I'm sure she would, or you can ask her to prepare a box for yourself, large order then just freeze them. For the love of Christ I can't seem to remember her name but most likely Agnieszka or Magda! lol

And if you fancy a coffee or a dark ale after your pierogi you could always cosy up in the chilling out atmosphere of Szynk just round the corner on Podbrzezie ;)

You'd love the place I'm talking about. A tiny hole-in-the wall, with only 2 tables, and 35 kinds of pierogi, stuffed with anything you could possibly imagine. I don't remember the name of the street though, just that it was somewhere in Kazimierz. This place alone would be worth a trip from Sląsk.

It's pierogi miodowy. On Miodowa. Reason I know that is that it is my ex students place and she would give me a box of my favourite pierogi stuffed with cous cous and chicken at the end of every meeting :)
