have no idea what this thread is about. I don`t have time to read all those posts

That's good because I had no time to write them (and it shows);)

Omnibus - Latin word meaning for everyone. In this case everyone apart from noiimigration in the early days;)

And daddy bear said "who's been writing venomous bile in my thread"

Come on mods (and rockers), consign this minor personal difference of opinion to the land of random

I will never ever attempt to write an Omnibus after spending 2 hours on the Polish train listening to kurva boys.

Ah, in that case you have my sympathy and forgiveness.

but he doesn't realize that Life of Pi's almost last line in that book has some bearings on his state of mind.

And what's wrong with my state of mind? Have you been talking to my analyst? Not that I'm paranoid but you have been haven't you?

Not being here that often anymore I managed to miss the nuclear moment that had 'Arry, Delph Boy and that chap from Southern California with the ornate prose and the funny screen name all sent to the sin bin by the mods. I miss all the good bits. Such is life.

UK, Ireland / What do you like about living in Britain? [134]

I love living here because of....

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eye lashes
Silver white winters that melt into spring
These are a few of my favorite things!

...and decent bitter, Dartmoor, Exmoor, The Lakes, The Highlands, smokies, good golf courses, black pudding, meat and potato pies, Liverpool FC, my friends and being able to appreciate most cultures of the world in a singgle bar in London.

<posted after perhaps one two many pints of the aforementioned bitter>

UK, Ireland / 50 babies a day born to Polish mothers in UK [81]

I blame Tony Bla

As do I. I believe he is the father of thirty of them.

C'mon, you've got to do better than that. If the women there need some help, well, I'll be in England this coming spring and will be delighted to do my part........

This is the type of magnanimous gesture that can only make the world a better place. You're very welcome to pop round to my place for a reviving cup of tea in your breaks;)

As it was in the Sun I presume she had a large chest then;)

USA, Canada / Why are Polish restaurants not successful in the USA? [698]

but there are no British restaurants at all here

I find that surprising. There used to be a really nice English restaurant in San Diego that I frequented many years back. I would try to see if it was still there but I have to clean my dentures and then go out to ram raid the local American Golf store (this week it's middle class riots over here) and drop the missus off to rampage through Jimmy Choos.

Travel / Why do you visit Poland? [222]

I'm experiencing a "re-awakening" of my Polish-ness. I'm not sure why

Those were almost the identical words my wife used after not returning to Poland for eighteen years. Now ten years on I can't keep her away. She has found old school friends and found some of her more distant realtives. Now that the last of our kids is away at university she just keeps popping back over.....

if I were the suspicioius type......

All I know is I can't wait for September

Have a great return to Poland. It would be interesting for you to let us know the changes you see when you are there.

UK, Ireland / Why Poles will never belong in England [283]

Steady on Nomad, you're ruining your chances of that honorary knighthood. Perhaps you will have to settle for the dumbest post of the day award.

Look at the date of the photo

Does this have something to do with a football match against Germany by any chance?

this is what I hate about sentimentality

Sean, I'm not prone to sentimentality attacks, honest;) I agree that there were a lot of fights started by noimmi and other trolls but the likes of him were rounded upon quickly and dealt with using humour and the collective will of a good bunch of people won the day every time. This is different now and it's deflecting from the efforts of others.

If I'm honest then I have contributed liitle of value over the last two years or so myself and should not be over critical of others so will remain silent from now on. I'll still pop back to visit now and again. My own connections with Poland have reduced a lot too so the value to me of PF is less than it was.

Off-Topic / PF - The Omnibus Edition [1502]

Groans from the still living fill the early morning air. Everywhere there are burnt out heaps of twisted metal that used to be computers. A few brave souls, presumably officers, walk among the carnage that wasthe Battle of PF, a battle that had been threatening for some time and that was finally instigated by a removal of privileges for the lower ranks.

Now, as I sit here in the fox holes of hell I hear that some escaped the horror by joining another battle. Has the cause been lost? What once we all would defend to the end no longer so important? If so it is a dark day.

It beggars belief how the wit and humour of a few years ago has been replaced by anger and rancour and that the actions of a relatively few self opinionated and intolerant people have buggered this place up to the extent that some of the good people have and are seeking a new place to talk and discuss.

I am a simple man. In real life I would say that I get on well with maybe 90% of the people I meet. Of the rest I probably actively dislike maybe 1 in 10. From the bile posted here lately it would appear that I am in minority.

What a sad theme for my last ever Omnibus post. PF will of course continue and over time, with a new influx of members , maybe thrive again to become the vibrant and informative place that it most certainly used to be.

So it's goodbye from me (and it's goodbye from Ed)

Love / Online matrimonial - a good way to find a true Polish man/woman on the net? [51]

You can take internet seriously because you have no way to test whether the other person is fake or real so try not to indulge in it

Er, weren't you the one that started the 'testing' thread which opened with the revelation that you had a 'testing' online Polish girlfriend?

I am aware of the fact that there was a british movie called Enigma and there was not even mentioned that thanks to Zygalski Enigma code was solved

Just a movie. He and the other Polish mathematicians are remembered and honoured at the one place that really counts - Bletchley Park. They hold an annual Polish Day.

can somebody infect my farm with a virus and change the wallpaper please

I have 200 rolls of ghastly sixties flowery flock wallpaper with 12 inch wide orange flowers on a hideous lime green background that you can have free (postage and packaging will be around £15000). Guaranteed lack of Rick Astley.

PS why can't I see the latest threads view on my machine (too friggin' lazy to work it out for myself)
