UK, Ireland / Polish immigrants in the UK - victims or criminals?! [128]

westerners’ desperately looking for a Polish wife through matrimonial agencies in Poland

This should tell you that there is a business for cheap, desperate Polish women. You can't buy something that's not for sale.

Law / WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THE EURO CURRENCY TO POLAND? [101]

The title says it all. Yesterday I had a conversation with my Polish friend, and she believes it would not be beneficial to Poland to adopt the Euro, as prices for everything would go up. Wasn't Kaczynski against the Euro, and Tusk is for it?

Please discuss.

UK, Ireland / Polish immigrants in the UK - victims or criminals?! [128]

In the U.K. something similar is going on. They believe that the U.K is superior to other countries and therefore, their collective ego dictates that they should reject other countries and its citizens.

So knowing this, why even go there? To wipe the a'sses of Anglos? Again, it's about respecting yourself. Nobody wants their people being hated on.

You should go back to Poland. Why stay in a country that is going to hate you? Don't you have any self respect? Is Poland really that bad? Let me guess, you went there to snag a rich westerner?

News / Kaczynski to be buried at Wawel ?! [289]

If Kaczyński is being buried here, Kaczorowski should be entitled to a spot at Wawel just as much. Kaczyński should be in Warsaw, where he was not only the mayor but also lived his life there. Hell, Kaczorowski had stated that he wanted to be buried in Kraków but they are burying him in Warsaw.

Ahahahahahahahaha- tylko w Polsce.

History / Anger at yet another Polish tragedy [30]

Just so everyone knows, Canada and it's broadcasting stations are doing an excellent job at covering this tragedy and shedding some much needed "spotlight" on the history of Katyń. It's very nice to see, I have to admit. Toronto and the province of Ontario have a large Polish community and the national broadcasters like CBC and CTV are giving a lot of air time to this disaster. They even showed footage of Prime Minister Stephen Harper visiting the Polish consulate in Ottawa. So the western Anglo nations do care.

History / Why are Jews pestering Poland for "proper" WW2 monetary restitution/reparations? [750]

Guess you should have manned up and kicked their arse, instead of kissing their arse. How many nations other than the USSR went to the Moscow Victory parade of 1945? One: Poland. But you didn't bother to go to the London parade the next year and you've been lying about not being invited ever since.

You're an ignorant piece of s'hit. Poland was a devastated country. Whatever compensation went to Poland, Moscow got the first dibs on it. Russians are filthy thieves. Poles got some compensation but not as much as they should've. Stalin did not allow the Poles to participate in the London parades and the Brits were afraid of upsetting the Soviet Union. As well, the Soviets did not allow Poland to get any compensation after the war from the West (ex. USA).

Speaking of compensation, how much did ordinary Poles actually get? Any numbers to throw out? Something tells me I'll be disappointed by this answer.

History / Why are Jews pestering Poland for "proper" WW2 monetary restitution/reparations? [750]

BERLIN (JTA) – Most Israeli Jews have a favorable opinion of Germany, a newly released poll shows.

The joint survey of 1,700 Israelis by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the German Friedrich Ebert Foundation was presented Sept. 10 at a conference in Jerusalem.

Researchers contacted 1,200 Jewish and 500 Arab Israelis. More Jews than Arabs tended to favor Germany.

Some 95 percent of Israelis said they would buy German goods. In addition, 52 percent of Israeli Jews are pleased with Germany's role in Middle East politics, while 27 percent of Israeli Arabs find Germany's Middle East role positive.

Some 83 percent of secular respondents define Israel's relations with Germany as normal, in contrast with just 48 percent of fervently Orthodox respondents.

Professor Moshe Zimmerman of Hebrew University's Koebner Center said in a statement that "in contrast to the official stance and that of the media, the Israeli public -- and especially the Jewish public in Israel -- relates to Germany not only in a neutral manner but actually in a supportive way."

Zimmerman told Ynet he believed that Arab Israelis "suspect that the German sympathy comes at the expense of support of the Palestinian interests."

He also said the survey showed clearly that "The more religious you are, the more you hate Germans." In addition, those further to the political right were less likely to be pleased with Germany's Mideast politics.

*See, this is interesting. I guess Germans are scared of Jews nowadays and give them everything they want :)
Back in 2007, I told this Jew I was going to visit Poland for the summer. He replied that Poland was not really a European country. Then I just told him Israel was not really a country and he got all pi'ssy :)

History / Why are Jews pestering Poland for "proper" WW2 monetary restitution/reparations? [750]

Ok I can tell you're going to be annoying. Look, I just saw somewhere on a Polish site that PM Tusk has refused to bow to these certain "Jewish organizations". I even heard the figure of $65 billion that he has refused to pay to the Jewish diaspora (I don't know if it's all true). I believe Poles in Poland and abroad know that Jews still have some sort of "beef" with Poland regarding this issue. And quite honestly sometimes I feel like Jews have better relations with the French and Germans then with Poles. Do you guys really think for example that Polish Americans and Jewish Americans really work together? I hear the Jewish American lobby group is quite powerful in America and I'm pretty sure they don't have a lot of Polish interests in mind.

Forgive my ignorance on this topic but it is it true that the Polish Jewish diaspora around the globe is still pestering Poland for "proper" monetary restitution/reparations (ex. $65 billion) for atrocities committed against them in WWII? Weren't Jews compensated greatly after the war? What are the Jews p'issed about?

Travel / Poland from a Persian Tourist's Perspective [269]

Interesting perspective. Well just so you know I am a young Polish guy living in Toronto. Hate it here. Too many foreigners. I would hate it if Warsaw turned into this. I don't think it will. France and England had most of the colonies back in the day and many countries have adopted their languages. Therefore most of the people from those former colonies will be more attracted to the lands of their former masters because they know their languages :)

Polish is a hard language and as well Poland does not owe anything to p'iss poor countries that have interests in Poland. By the way how would Polish people be treated in Persia or anywhere in that part of the world? Anyways, the more visible minorities in Poland the more racism you'll see. It's human nature.

I once knew a Paki who studied in Germany for a couple of years. I told him I was Polish and he did not know where Poland was on the map. How's that for ignorance? Stupid Paki I say :)

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [393]

The difference in quality of an individual soldier on every level (between Poland and Russia) is huge.

I still like to think that Poland could successfully defend itself against a country like Germany. I think the will to fight would be much stronger for a Pole than a Gerrie.

So does anyone know how the hell Germany was able acquire such a modern army once again? Their army should have no offensive capabilities. Does anyone think this alliance with America will help Poland modernize its military?

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [393]

I'm a bit skeptical. C'mon, this is not 1939. "Massively more powerful"? That's quite a statement. I know Poland has decent military equipment now, no need to suck German d'icks again. Since the end of WWII Russia has been the unpredictable beast.

The Gerries would today still be a threat? I was hoping otherwise. What the hell's wrong with Polska?
As for non conscription, I just hope they know what they are doing. I would like to know that Poland is safe because they can actually protect themselves, not because the guy in the neighborhood is nice enough not to attack at the moment. Can NATO be really trusted in a serious conflict?

News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [393]

I apologize if this has been asked before but....

1- How strong is Poland's army as of today? Could they handle an attack on their territory (ex. Germany, Belarus. I know Russia would obviously be a problem.) I know this might be hard to answer because we do not have access to classified military information but if someone has educated guesses, then post here.

2- Why the hell doesn't Poland have mandatory conscription anymore?! What do they expect to do if there was a conflict? Use weekend warriors? Are there actual benefits to having a professional army?

Discuss.

Life / I'm from Polish descent. CAN YOU GUYS EXPLAIN THE EU TO ME? [115]

Check out this article:

New EU economic plan to disadvantage of Poland?

UPDATE - The Europe 2020 strategy, announced by the European Commission today, raised concerns in Poland.

Jose Manuel Barroso has revealed that the 10-year EU plan for jobs and growth is meant to lead Europe away from financial crisis. In order to make the EU the world's leading and "competitive knowledge-based economy", the member states needed to work harder on coordinating economic policy, Barroso said, Wednesday.

"It is difficult to find a place for Poland in this strategy because it is written for the needs of the older member states," a high-ranking official at the Commission is quoted by Polish Radio's IAR agency as saying.

The strategy, to the dissatisfaction of the Polish government, is primarily focused on a knowledge-based, environmentally friendly economy. However, little space is devoted to EU cohesion policy - smoothing out the differences between rich and poor regions in the EU.

There is concern in Warsaw that the assumptions of the strategy will affect discussion on the shape of a new EU budget after 2013 and will be grounds for a reduction of expenditures - for example, for the construction of highways, something badly needed in Poland.

Hungary's PM Gordon Bajnai met with Prime Minister Tusk, Tuesday, to discuss the EU's new economic strategy.

Poland wants the new "EU 2020" plan to encompass the continuing needs of the EU's new member states and demands completion of internal EU market construction and infrastructure funds envisaged in the EU's budget after 2013. The issue of further enlargement of the euro zone is also to be on the agenda.

The strategy which will be presented at the EU summit this month. The new plan will replace the Lisbon Strategy, which some say suffered spectacular failure. In 2000, the European Union assumed that within a decade it would become the most competitive economy in the world, a goal so far not achieved. (pg)

"Things went wrong wen the original 6 started admitting other, usually poor countries like Greece, Portugal, Ireland, the entire former East Bloc and so on. It should've stayed the core of 6 states, all rich and not burdened by these poor suckers who only drag things down. It's my personal opinion that the EU should go back to the original six and leave the golddiggers to fix their own mess. These poor bastards get billions each year from Brussels, hence only cost us, the rich countries, money and yet they are always complaining the hardest. Ungrateful buggers."

- Very stupid quote and extremely ignorant. What country are you from? Don't forget that the German as'sholes received billions of dollars from the United States after WWII so they could get back on their feet. What did Poland get? Europe owes Poland.

Life / I'm from Polish descent. CAN YOU GUYS EXPLAIN THE EU TO ME? [115]

Examine European history 1800-1991. Pay particular attention to how many lives and money was lost in the process of war in Europe. Then come back and ask the question again.

I understand that generations were wiped out due to war in Europe, especially in Poland. But isn't there huge criticism and EU skepticism right now because countries like Poland do not want countries like Germany and France calling the shots and indirectly having influence over their futures? Are these not legitimate concerns of a country like Poland which has only been free for 20 years. Are people really that naive to think that Germany and France have Poland's interests in mind?

Life / I'm from Polish descent. CAN YOU GUYS EXPLAIN THE EU TO ME? [115]

I'm from Polish descent and try my best to follow Polish politics online. Once in a while I read about Poland standing up to the EU because the country feels like it is being short changed by the bigger powers (I hear Polish farmers are not too happy). I also hear EU skeptics predicting the collapse of the EU in the future because countries lose sovereignty. So what's the real deal with the EU? Is it more beneficial to be in it or not? Why the need to create a huge, borderless, blurry, mess called Europe? What's the catch?

Soon there won't be a Poland anymore.

Are you serious? What countries are these muslims coming from? Let me guess- Turkey? I thought Poland officially does not accept refugees and there is no immigration program ala the UK and Germany. With high unemployment how can Poland handle these parasitic muslims?
