Love / English girl. Do Polish men afraid to show their feelings or they are just not comfortable in UK? [84]

He should know. :)

It might be different from the german but I am not familiar with how they make it. It cannot be from a can or jar. Has to be naturally fermented in a barrel. Has a strong odor but soak it in water for a few minutes, drain it and pour some olive oil over it. Tastes great and will make you healthy, improving your mood, skin etc. This with a zinc supplement should make him more randy.

Food / How common GMO Food in Poland is? [25]

The article link I posted was from yesterday. Maybe we'll learn more on this soon.

I have a feeling the Americans are to blame for this this. They're big proponents of GMO crops.

Food / How common GMO Food in Poland is? [25]

I learned that Monsanto can't do business in Germany, France, Austria, among others.

"Poland failing to comply with EU GMO monitoring rules
Wednesday November 21 2012

The European Commission has today called on Poland to amend its legislation in order to comply with EU rules on monitoring the cultivation of genetically-modified organisms (GMOs).

The country has not implemented EU laws that require GMO cultivation locations to be notified to the relevant national authorities, established in a national register and made known to the public."

Food / How common GMO Food in Poland is? [25]

Hi....how common is genetically modified food in Poland? It's supposed to be bad stuff. I just read that Poland is not complying with the agreed upon ban from the EU.

What's wrong with Poland?! Should people be worried?

If you look at statistics and general consensus, Polish work ethic is the only thing about Poland that is underrated.

Are you kidding me with this? You're a bulls h i t e r.

Language / Should I just learn German? [55]

German doesn't even come close to making this list, as many of the German speakers you may come into contact with are likely to know either English or French.

Agreed. In Toronto where, I have come across many Germans who came here to work for a year or less and brush up on their English skills. English of course still dominates the global business world. But it's all about perspective. Poles living near the German border will most likely understand some German as they may come in contact with them more often or may travel to Germany for work. Same with Ukrainians near the Polish border. They learn to speak Polish if they want to live and work there. In parts of Canada (Quebec) it's hard to have a decent life without knowing French. In parts of the USA, it helps to know Spanish.

So learn Polish instead of German. After all, you already know English. It's good enough. I feel sorry for the Swiss though :) They have to know three languages.

USA, Canada / Would like to move back to Poland from New York after living in USA for 20 years. [155]

living in inferior accommodation compared to what she is used to in nyc

Just so you know, most people in Manhattan and in the boroughs live in tiny apartments and accomodations. Her life in Warsaw would not necessarily be worse. In fact some things might be better for her, like more affordable rents (when compared with NYC). Basically it's about the kind of job you can get. I think she should give it a try. I am in Toronto and life is not great here either. Our city is getting too expensive as well and the home property taxes are rising. My parents are thinking of retiring in Poland in about 10 years.

Genealogy / Being ashamed of Polish ancestry? [156]

The best thing you can do is travel to Poland and absorb the culture there. It's a beautiful country now and quite open. And the dollar still goes a long way. Seriously, do it.

What do you guys think of the transexual and gay dude getting into the Polish Parliament? Is this the end of Poland? I am worried. Was there no other choice?

News / Multi-culti (in Poland) -- roadmap to disaster? [344]

u should read the threads. 50,000 foreign folk have just been allowed to stay and no-one could give a damn.

What's the difference? They were already in the country and make up a tiny segment of the population of Poland. Plus, and more importantly, they are eastern Europeans like Ukrainians, Chechens, etc, along with a few Vietnamese. If it was 50,000 Arabs I'd be worried. But I hope this is not going to be the beginning of something more sinister.

History / Poland - problem for Germany? (historically continual hostility of German state on Poland) [154]

If history tends to repeat itself, like the saying goes, then of course Germans will pose a problem for Poland (they're already ******** about shale gas). This is why Poland needs the USA. Just like west Germany needed the USA after WW2 to help it get back on its feet. But don't forget that Poland used to have one of the largest kingdoms in Europe. Poland will not have another kingdom, but if history repeats itself, then Poland will become a major player in Europe once more. And around the corner will be the scary Germans, desperate for attention.

Love / Good looking Polish women with ugly men [416]

I've spent time in Poland with my Polish fiancee. Polish women are indeed beautiful and I think the guys can be handsome.

Let's stop with the bulls'hit. There are good looking guys in Poland (I am not gay). I was just there. You're fiance is s'tupid for labelling all Polish men the same way. NOT all Polish women are good looking.

Food / Is Polish food still more natural than in the West? [142]

Uh - quite the opposite. The EU actually wants minimum standards for food production, so the food can be sold throughout the EU freely and without restraint.

I don't believe it. Don't you ever wonder why heavily industrialized societies, which mass produce food and package food nicely, have so many issues with weight and health? Everything from Celiac disease, to eczema, psoriasis, cancer- even mental issues can be attributed to what you put into your body. You are what you eat.

Have you seen Food Inc. ? Please watch this. I think the EU will eventually try and mass produce food like they do here in Canada and the USA.

Please watch this and open your eyes people. I hope Poland doesn't become like this.

Food / Is Polish food still more natural than in the West? [142]

The good natural foods in Poland are in decline due to EU policies, soon it will be as bad as anywhere else in europe. Plus in order to make ends meet, livestock farming conditions have also deteriorated.
Pity we can,t go back to the old ways, sometimes old methods are better than the new.

What EU policies??? Why do they stick their nose in everything?? Does the EU want Poles to develop more food allergies? Why did Poland join the evil EU??
