Real Estate / Zones to live in Bydgoszcz [12]

I've lived in Szwederewo for 4 years and it's as safe as anywhere in the city though it does have a reputation from the days after the fall of the PRL , You could try asking on foreigners in Bydgoszcz facebook page for info regarding Estate agents.

Szwederewo is probably one of the better neighbourhoods, it's safe clean and 10 mins from the Old Town has great transport links and has a few supermarkets.

Glinki is a nice enough are but you'd need a car to get about or a minimum of two trams or busses for most journeys.

Blonie again has great transport links is quite safe and seems full of Nato and Spanish students,
If you don't plan on driving then i'd say either Srodmiescie or Szwederewo as you won't be more than 10 mins walk to the centrum and the bus and tram hubs.

News / Poland liberalizes drug laws in effort to focus on treatment [35]

rozumiemnic:
ahhh but that's just it..."drugs" are available whether they are legal or not..don't you get that?

Yes, but if youth realize getting involved in illegal drugs can land them in jail when older, they are more likely to leave them alone. Of course, it isn't fool proof, but it could be much worse if they were legal.

But they are available at the moment and the current laws aren't working, if they steal to fund their habit or cause physical harm to another person then, by all means go after them with the full force of the law and drag them before a court charged with theft, robbery etc, the drugs aren't the problem, its the person,

But if they are minding their own business, not harming anyone like the Millions of poles who do regularly use or take drugs and manage to hold down jobs, study, live good family lives and play an active part in their communities i can see absolutely no benefit to society in general by dragging a very small amount of these people through the courts, I often wonder if the authorities actually have any idea as to the sheer scale of usage nowadays.?

People will always use drugs regardless of the legal status, and have done since the day we climbed down from the trees or god created adam and eve, before someone came up with the idea of a legal system.

Some people will die because of drugs, some will end up homeless, some will go on to have very successful careers and lives and very happy families, but ALL of them will ultimately end up in a whole in the ground next to those who didn't use drugs.

I personally hate agencies, sat and filled out a application form, came to the criminal record part, thought i'd be honest so put down that i had football violence convictions, (misguided youth ;))

To be told we don't employ your sort,
So much for a second chance in this country.

St george you mentioned only if you are willing to sweat blood work overtime then agencys will take on brits, well if all brits did sweat blood at there work then agencies might not need to take on migrant workers, just a thought mind you!
