USA, Canada / Do any other Polish Americans feel that our culture needs to be more well preserved? [38]

almost 100% Polish environment and in many cases don't even speak English then why not just live in Poland

Why do Americans speak English in the first place? It's because the British came here and turned the land into Little England. And then they allowed people from all other countries to come here. The government has never appointed an English Speaking Only police to enforce the English language because obviously it's not a problem for them. If it's okay with them I don't see why it should be a problem with anyone else.

Love / Filipina married a Polish man, need more advice [90]

his reason was he wants mein his life and doesnot wanttoloseme asitoldhim fromt he start that i prefer tomeet someone who is single/divorce but no kids. is this enough reason to lie tome?

No. That kind of lie is too big. If he can lie about his kids, he can lie about anything. Maybe the divorce paper was a lie, too. Maybe his story about having to live with his wife for financial reasons is a lie. How will you be able to believe anything he says?

I know god is showing that he is true

Are you sure God would want this for you and not something better? Maybe it's your own feelings that you're hearing.

Love / I WANT HER BACK EVEN IF I HAVE TO CROSS THE OCEAN WITH A BOAT AND GO WALKING TO LÓDZ [58]

oo now i get it,yep i feel like ****, and it was all soo quickly that i didnt have time to understand why such reaction?!!?

Maybe it was because you were "hard on her sometimes" and called her a cold person and then you had doubts about visiting her. Who wants to be loved like that?

ill have to move on with my life, i don't know what to think about the whole situation and how it ended, cuz now it seems to be usless...

That's a good idea.

I am still mystified why people publish these kind of stories on forums... Do they not have real-life friends who can advise them?

They want to blame everything on the other person being Polish so they look for the Polish forum so that others can agree with them that it's all because the other person was Polish.

USA, Canada / Do Polish guys like American girls? [103]

I met a polish guy online... I know so nerdy. But times have changed and people meet online all the time right haha.

What do you mean by Polish? Does he live in Poland? Why is he contacting a woman in America? Is he planning to come here and be with you? I see him popping the green card question in your future.

Americans for the most part are shallow and spoiled.

I don't find American men to be anything like that. Not in the real world. Do you live in Beverly Hills or something or are you talking about the ones you see on those fake TV shows?

you don't need to get agressive it only shows a weak personality,im not saying that in an offensive way.

What do you mean by aggressive? I mean, why is it aggressive for people on the forum to ask you a simple question? Maybe you always reacted that way with (said things like that to) the woman who no longer wants anything to do with you and maybe she got tired of it.

Love / Filipina married a Polish man, need more advice [90]

sure sounds crazt for other peolpe but guys common love is blind.

Your situation is different, though, because you're going to have his baby. You can't just forget him and move on that easily. And also, your child is going to want to know his or her father and it would be wrong not to allow that. He created a mess.

Yes polish guy values so much with their family but too bad his ex-wife only concentrate her life with herself and the kids and just want him to work and to support for the family. she forgot that husband needs her attention, respect, care and love from the wife. Intimacy, respect is very important in a the marriage and if couples are lack of that marriage wont last. Needs two to Tango!

deeply_inluv, I hate to tell you this, but it's very common in the U.S. for a 45 year old man who has been married to the same woman for awhile to say these things. The truth is that they're just bored and they want a new woman. They act like a victim to convince the other woman (you) that it's okay. A man will usually look for someone who lives in his city. If he looked for someone overseas it's because it's easier to hide you that way.

His story about having to stay with his wife even though they're divorced can't be true. The government gives money to women who need it so that they can pay their bills and buy food, especially if they have children. That's why women come here to have kids.

If he had really told his wife about you, she would have left him and maybe taken him to court and sued him because that's what women do in the U.S.

I don't know your situation but it sounds like he is using you. The things he says are fake and manipulation and the reason you believe him is because he's very good at it.

But now you're going to have his child so he needs to pay you some money after it's born, to support it.

But they're not in the UK, they're in England and they're not American, different culture.

She originally said he lived in the US.

The Philippines is a bit far to go for a bit of slap and tickle though, wouldnt you agree?

And yet a lot of people do it, the email, instant message, and phone dating while they go on with their lives at home.

She said he lives in the US...

I am engaged with a Polish man but he lives in the US.

She explained that he lied and said he was single and then later admitted he was married but he showed her a divorce paper. If she's guilty of anything it's for believing him. She doesn't need to be talked down to.

Lies you knew he was married and not divorced, he never lied to you.

You should read what she said again. She meant she wanted to know him better before marrying him or else there would be a divorce between them if things didn't work out and it would cost money. She wasn't talking about the divorce with his wife.

This was Her decision after knowing the man was married.

Do you mean the part where she said ex-wife?

This conversation will never go anywhere. deeply_inluv has already left.

Love / Such a Very Sad Loss.. fighting the battle with a Polish lady to see my daugher. [56]

I know I have not ben as Loving and Warm as I usually am due to Closing myself in as when I have Tried to talk to her in how I feel I have got Nowhere due to her supposed Lack of English.
I wish her to know that despite my saddness over the Last few Month's I have Never Once Stopped Caring for her even Now I feel Sadd'ness coupled with Love at my Loss.

You had the right to feel sad after the losses in your life and if she had really cared about you, she would not have left you or turned to another man. I just don't think she deserves to know that you care for her or that you're sad without her.

Love / Broken Heart due to the mother of my Polish girlfriend [23]

If she doesn't want you because of financial reasons or language barriers, then you really should forget about her.

It sounds more like her mother is making her doubt.

The mother of this girl is very difficult woman, talking too much and not good.

It's hard for a woman to leave her mother for a man. Too bad her mother is like that. If you marry her, maybe her mother will try to control everything, your lives, your children...

Love / Broken Heart due to the mother of my Polish girlfriend [23]

if you love somebody you dont listen people around.

A parent is not just people, though. It's not that easy for a woman to throw her mother away to be with a man. Of course she's not going to love you more than her mother. It's better to find someone whose parents like you.

Love / Broken Heart due to the mother of my Polish girlfriend [23]

And don't mothers play even more of a role in their daughters lives in the Polish culture?

That's true for many cultures, where the children are taught that family is important, even the men. I had a boyfriend whose mother was a nightmare, so controlling. I left because I couldn't take it anymore, but I never would have asked him to leave his own mother for me. Like the greeting cards say, sometimes love means letting go. hehe.

Love / Broken Heart due to the mother of my Polish girlfriend [23]

A problem in the situation is the biggest for the mother of the girl. I think she doesn't see opportunities for them to be together.

Yeah, he explained that about her. But is it really the mother's decision? The mother is in control. She's the one who will decide who her daughter will marry and the daughter will obey.

News / Giant Jesus Rising in Świebodzin ( Tallest in world ) [323]

Wow. They're putting up a huge statue of Jesus in Poland? I'm amazed because they would never allow that in the U.S. Poland seems to have a lot more freedom of "religious" expression. There was a much smaller cross in the desert of California to honor the memory of fallen soldiers. It was isolated and hardly visible and on private land but an organization fought in court to have it removed. When they were denied, someone cut it down.
