History / Today is the 1st of September (WWII start in Poland) [138]

Compare Hitler/Dunkirk and Hitler/Stalingrad

I think we'd agree that the only comparison is one of contrast: Stalingrad cost the Germans enough men and material to supply a quarter of the Wehrmacht.

The Battle of Britain was a bad mistake made by Göring; if they would just have gotten into their boats and sailed off to Britain, the Island would be theirs before the Summer would be over. Britain was just lucky there.

I am not sure the Germans could have invaded Britain.

Goering's real mistake in the Battle of Britain was his change in strategy: he stopped going after the RAF at a point where the RAF was close to the end and instead turned his attention to the cities.

The Brits somehow did spin around Dunkirk to a victory or a "miracle"!

Somehow?

While Goering and the other sycophants were arguing to Hitler against having the German Army finishing the job the Brits were slipping away. The end result was that these troops ended up facing the Germans in battle on a later date.

History / When will you Poles give back German land and the cities which you robbed? [557]

My only wish is that my ancestors and the native Poles at that time in history we're given the opportunity to personally convey their sentiments towards Stalin.

Kiss german arse for getting into the EU and becoming our happy backyard.

Happy backyard? More sovereign write downs are on the way and the Germans hold the checkbook.

History / WW2 hypothesis - if France And England weren't so timid, wimpy and scared of Hitler... [34]

Don't forget about Stalin who wanted regain territories belonging to former Russian empire.

If this statement is about Poland I'd challenge it by stating that Stalin wanted revenge; territory was icing on the cake.

No Hitler => no blitz tactics

Blitzkrieg tactics preceded Hitler.

Try the symphonists: Fuller, B. Liddell Hart, Tukhachevsky & DeGaulle.

If France And England werent so timid, wimpy and scared of hitler...

pbs.org/greatwar/resources/casdeath_pop.html

Look at the casualties the British and French suffered. You can see that an entire generation was decimated. The loss of wealth, property and lives led to to a complete aversion to war and led to the most respectable avenue from it: diplomacy.

Germans wanted war

All Germans? No, they did not.

the official version was that Versailles was unfair

Versailles was botched badly. Many in the general population felt that Germany had been "stabbed in the back" by the "November criminals".

The most humiliating portion of the Versailles for Germany was Article 231, or known by it's better name the "War Guilt Clause," forced the German nation to accept complete responsibility for initiating World War I.

Therefore, Germany was liable for all damages. Georges Clemenceau, France's premier, was at the forefront of the group who insisted on imposing an unrealistic level reparation payments.

Aware that Germany would probably not be able to pay such a enormous debt, Clemenceau and the French feared German revenge. So, the French sought in Versailles to limit Germany's potential to regain its economic and military superiority.

superior and undefeatable his nation is, when they lost WW1

You mean like not being defeated on the battlefield? You mean marching back home arms in hand?

UK, Ireland / The slow, whiny death of British Christianity [86]

How many people who claim to worship Jesus really follow in his ways?

But unlike breathing, religion is learned, not natural. You've just described an addiction.

Nice use of a pejorative: addiction.

The case is open on whether religion is natural.

Life / Cannabis / Weed in Poland... How much does marijuana cost per gram and how easy is to get it? [355]

It may peak after the first year or so of legalisation but then it after the initial period of curiosity it would level out.

Which drugs are we talking about? Will curiosity be enough to break the habit? Aren't we talking about the possibility peer pressure, physical and mental addiction?

He thing to remember is that were drugs legalised then it would bring far less health problems to users as

Are you saying that possible lung damage, slowing of motor skills, the impact on pregnant women would lead to far less health related problems?

And last but not least; Doing drugs will no longer be vieuwed as something illegal, so to a lot of young and rebellious people who are seeking the thrills and the kicks of doing something that's obviously not allowed, it might not appeal that much, or even seem adventurous anymore.

Which do you propose to legalize? Do you propose a limits? At or under 'x' legal; over 'x' illegal?

If drugs are legalized will drug usage increase or decrease?

News / Poland needs four children per family for sustain survivor and development [46]

Then, as soon as possible, state needs to stimulate young people to have minimum four children per family

I totally disagree with you on this. Keep the state out!!!

I believe you're correct about having stable tradition families grow but unfortunately the religion of the day is narcissism.

kind of but overall sustainability depends on population growth, not decline and that is what's going on, as per above

Wrong...

Sustainability relies on productivity.

History / Should HMG compensate Poland and/or Polish veterans? [90]

To be correct, polish army was fully mobilised but not fully assembled, thanks to the allies again.

No; the fact that the Poles were not fully mobilized rests on their shoulders not the British.

Why would, or should, the Poles have put their faith in France or the Brits based on recent events (Munich) and events in the not so distant (Polish - Soviet war) past?

History / Should HMG compensate Poland and/or Polish veterans? [90]

Should HMG compensate Poland and/or surviving Polish WW2 veterans?

No...

Why? A few of reasons:

* How do you judge Britain's preparedness (logistical, strategical & psychological) for war?

* How does one quantify the damages to the individual in question?

* The litigious carousel would never stop.

History / Poland in the eyes of London - before WWII. [60]

britain went to war because they were concerned with the growth of german power disrupting the balance of power in europe.

There was very little Britain could do about that.

History / Slavic vs Germanic thinking.... and the philosophical differences [251]

Why can't people just get some guts and make babies, I just don't understand lol.

Babies, and the nurturing of children all the way to adulthood, requires parents to exhibit: loving care, discipline, understanding, responsibility & selflessness.

Unfortunately narcissism rules the day.

News / The EU's 1 Trillion Dollar Rescue Package [144]

USA needs to commit itself to the green sector to experience a surge in it's economic growth, even if global warming is a lie.

Global warming is a lie and a commitment to so called "green" jobs is a ruse.
