Genealogy / How hard is it to get a Polish passport? [74]

well I dont think you are allowed dual nationality so I would hold on to your British passport if I were you, unless you can have both.

Genealogy / How hard is it to get a Polish passport? [74]

Don't think it can be taken away Sapphire I was born in the Uk. My parents lived in the UK too........and I sound very British as well

but if you choose to take citizenship of a country that doesnt allow dual citizenship then dont you have to give up your British passport to do so? Im no expert so correct me if Im wrong, but thats my understanding.

Life / Gypsies or Roma: European and Polish attitudes towards [87]

I saw that Panorama programme too.. and its pretty representative of what a lot of people in the UK think about them. In North and Central London they operate in big gangs.. women and babies.. either begging or pickpocketing and then handing over the money to groups of men. Personally I find them agressive and intimidating and think they give Romanian people generally a bad name...and the kids are often downright scary.

'kurwa macz'

not sure what it means alone.. but together they mean something like 'son of a *****', but a bit stronger I think. sorrry that was a female dog word.

Travel / Collection of dress codes in Poland - what to wear? [95]

Generally speaking, Poles dress better than the Germans, British and Americans. But then that's not particularly difficult

I agree with Tornado on this one... Osiol please explain why you think Poles dress better than British people? (I dont care about the Germans and Yanks) I agree that Polish women definitely like to take a pride in their appearance, but as far as fashions go I guess its all a question of taste as personally I find most of their clothes to be cheap looking, tarty and old fashioned ( I am basing this on Polish women in the UK) and most Polish men do not strike me as style setters.. not that Im saying that all British people are either, but since we are generalising about whole nations here, what the heck.. sorry if Ive offended anyone, but honestly thats my opinion. Sometimes I just want to take them shopping or point them in the direction of the nearest stylist!

yes but some men are interested in nice clothes Greg. My bf is a painter, but he still manages to make the effort to wear nice clothes every day... and yes he is Polish, which kind of contradicts what I was saying earlier.. however, he has had some assistance from me. Now some of his friends say he has an English look, but he is happy with that :)

Im not sure about drinking, did you mean smoke more or less? The Polish women that Ive met smoke like troopers, but Im not sure how that makes your clothes look better? I totally agree about the make up. Generally a lot of Polish women are good looking and have nice figures, but the style of clothes and the make up that they wear can make them look tarty. But obviously fashions are different in different countries, so I think I only notice it because they look different when in the UK.. this goes for Russians and other Central/Eastern European countries too. You can tell where they come from by their dress and make up choices. Ive noticed a lot of Polish women like to wear white or pastel colours in particular.

Love / Are Polish men shy and take things slow? [116]

say you are happy that he has a new job, but that you will miss him terribly. You need to know if he coming back or not and if he wants you to wait for him, as you dont want to put your life on hold for months if he is not interested.

USA, Canada / American people attitude towards Poles in the USA [98]

I am sick of people saying they can't get a job because of Polish people. Get real, they can't get a job cos they're sitting on the Internet insulting people rather than looking for one.

well said.. there are plenty of people who would rather moan than get off their fat dupas and change their situation.

cant we just stop all these anti Polish threads... this is a Polish forum ffs, so if you dont like em then just sod off and go back to surfing for pûrn or whatever else you do to pass the time.

Love / How Polish boy will show the symptom that he is love? [27]

I think you will find that all 'boys' are different.. doesnt matter if he's Polish or not. If he is in love with you then you will know it. You can't rush these things. Im my case I have found Polish men to be a lot more vocal and demonstrative about such things than English guys, but that doesnt mean that they are all like that does it. Why dont you just ask him? if he looks horrified or says yes I love you, then you have your answer.

Love / Polish women are the most beautiful in the world! [1718]

I'm perfectly happy living alone and would be happy to remain living alone if I had to be with a shrew with an attitude like yours.

thanks mate.. 1) I was joking. 2) I am not American. 3) I cant be bothered to fight back as I'm not in the mood for a ruck. 4) If you are only getting 10% back when it comes to sex then perhaps you arent putting in the 90% you think you are. 5) Enjoy your single life.

Life / Wszystkich Świętych (All Saints Day) // Dzien Zaduszny (All Souls day) [86]

Thank you for this post. My partner has gone to Poland this week to visit his departed and non-departed loved ones. This has helped me to understand more about the significance of this time. I have seem similar things in other countries.. In Mexico Day of the Dead is very popular, but I wasnt sure if it was the same as in Poland.
