Real Estate / Moving to Poland to either buy or build a house [15]

Hi all, we are looking for a bit advice/guidance please.

Our situ - My wife is Polish, myself Scottish, we are married 10 years, have a child together.

The plan;

Move to Poland, hopefully 2023. Buy either land and build or buy a house with land and convert/upgrade.
The land would be to move towards a more self sufficient and healthier life.
We would want to be off grid or at least partially.

Questions;

1. What is the limit/size of land we/my wife can buy? Budowlana, rolno-budowlana
2. Is there restrictions with land only or house with land?
3. Can anybody think of further restrictions/limitations/barriers we could be faced with?

Many thanks in advance...

We found a piece of land which ticks a few boxes. However it is just over 2 hectares (rolno budowlana) and as far as we understand we would be committed to 5 years before we could sell it on. Not that we would want to as this is where we want to settle but life changes, things happen. Is there anyway to get out of the 5 years? My wife seems to think that if you are a farmer it does not apply? I am not a farmer but want to farmer the land. Thank you as always for any input.

Maybe we could request the land be separated into two lots with my wife buying one and my mother and law buying the other and passing over to us in the future? This would allow the land to stay in the same family??

Real Estate / Water Well and costs [6]

Hi all, I am curious if anybody has a rough idea of costs in digging a well. From reading there seems to be a lot of factors which can effect it but just curious on rough costings (the well would be in malopolskie - near zakilicyn) many thanks

UK, Ireland / Polish Visa from London Embassy [9]

Hi all, this may be a long shot but wanted to see if anybody can help out there.

My Polish wife and I are moving to Poland from the U.K. (I am British) so I will need a Polish visa. However we are having a very difficult time trying to speak with anybody or get some dates to head to the embassy. Does anybody know when dates are released or how to speak with anybody to arrange a visa appointment? Many thanks

Thanks for the message. I have been trying but no available appointments coming up - not sure what I am doing wrong/is going on. Can I ask, if you go to the link do you see any appointments for visa and london? Thanks.

Thanks cargo pants - my wife saw somebody from the London embassy on YouTube saying it has to be done in London. Will defo look into it in Poland. Still not had any luck with the website, no dates. Maybe there is an exact time to look when they are released but no sign of that.

Real Estate / Foundation - Underpinning [3]

Hi everybody, my family and I have bought a house in Poland for renovation. I plan to do a lot of the work myself due to having a joinery business in the U.K. (and to help save money!) The property is 1970 and all looks good. Some cosmetic cracks but nothing severe. We are on a hillside in Malopolska. I believe the foundations should be underpinned and would prefer to do it anyway to prolong the life of the building and will be doing myself. However I would like some guided support and blueprints to depth etc. In the U.K. you would approach a structural engineer but we are struggling to find anybody here who can draw plans up. Are we looking at the wrong profession, who should we approach for plans, guidance etc? Any guidance/advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Jason
