the war with poland was unavoidable, hitler and stalin made a pact to share poland, they both took the view that the poles were no more than vermine and had no right to survival, the boltic corridor was their goal, and that is histrical fact. no matter what deal the poles could have made, hitler was going to exterminate you anyway. the change came when hitler invaded russia. he wanted poland and he was going to get it no matter what. the polish army was no match for the wiermach. even when britain went to war with hitler over the poles, we could have done more than we did to help. most of the extermination camps were in poland. hitler took the same vermanistic view of hungary, romania. they were to him just vermin, and his idiolgy focused on that point.

the thing is it happened, lets not allow it to happen again. germany can not be allowed to be in that position again. even the german kids learn about all this at school now, s0o they are not being allowed to forget. and while we are on the subject, lets not forget the vatican, it was they who made it possible for the ecaping nazis to flee to south america via the rat line. so even the good old pope of the time was complicit and have to bear some of the responsibility, after all they were well paid by the nazis, also fact.

thank for that, i am studying polish at the moment, and because there are so many ATs, i wnated to know if i have got it right. i had a look at the link you gave, there are so many surely there is a common use. it becomes a minefield justb to remember which 'at' goes where. its hard enough learning nouns and adjectives ect.

can we narrow it down a bit.

not really, while i am learning the preps and conjunction , nouns ect, i have to write, so if what i write cant be understood what is the point. i have been reubited with my relatives in poland after 50 yrs and i am going over there this year. so while a can speak it i think, if my writing cant be understood then probably neither can my speaking.

while we have the different suffixes like bym, byś, ect. what i have noticed with kupić for example, they have endings , lam,l,la,li lyśmy. is that correct

i have got some info on conjugation till my book comes, as you said it is much cleare now where ia going wrong. its still a mine field though.

can i do i small test, so to see if what i'm reading is being undertsood. i've used otrzymać to get, and pić to drink.

otrzyłem = i was to get
będzie otrzymać = i will get
i really wanted to say 'got'

pił = he drinks/will drink
piłem =i drink/will drink
piliśmy = you drink/will drink
będziesz pić = you will drink/will be drinking
pibym = i was drinking

is that right if not why
im still stuck a bit with the perfect and imperfect. im used to saying ' ing, and ...ed. and its putting me wrong.

the more i read the more questions i get than answers. i have a word był =he was, how is it formed.
byłby = would how is that formed.
i know im being told step by step, but i just seem to bogeed dowm with other questions relating to the same thing, these damn perfect things.

Are what I am doing now.
The past forms
…..łem
….łam
are what I have done, and the only difference is the ł and its also the ….ing of what I am doing.

While the conditional makes sense too, it seems to be something you might do ‘would’.
I have to say the przeczytać is unclear. Is the prze a prep, I don’t have that one unless przy is the same one.

So;

Będe czytać
Both mean the same, so why both

thanks guys, yes it was the endings not the ear, so its augmenative i think is the word.
is that right, would you not use 'its abig carrot instead of the ucha ending, so as maybe not to oddend anyone.
