Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

i love poland because my husband is polish. because i love my brothers in-law and my parents in-law. because i could see that poland is genuinely looking after her forests. and last - but - never - the - least - because it's a gastronomic country =)

News / Do Poles in Poland really feel betrayed because there won't be any US Shield? [288]

It was a STUPID idea from the start and personally I'm very glad that it's been scratched. Poland needs to improve relations with their neighbors. As much as America likes to claim they care about Poland they do not. I've lived in America for 21 years now and can tell you first hand it's a one sided relationship.

i am not surprised. it's always been like this.... i am quite sure that poland isnt and shouldnt feel betrayed because the plan didnt push thru. poland does not need it. poland should not need america. it is only an introduction to the exploitation of poland - better admit it mr. obama.

and the US has been weakened by a man who wants to be President of the WORLD

obama is a big liar. in his first speech, he says I WILL CHANGE THE WORLD. does he actually think that he is a superhero? excuse me mr. obama, do not forget that the money that you are spending are the taxpayers money. not your lunch money.

like I said, I really doubt poland is in any danger of invasion in the near future.

i've always known that history repeats itself. so much better to be vigilant but not overly paranoid, is that right mr. obama?

Life / Are foreigners welcome in Poland? [267]

Please let me know what you think and if you have experienced any hostility due to you being a foreigner.

no, foreigners arent welcome in poland. some poles here in p/f arent really embarassed to admit that. my worst experience? shopping in gdansk.

I just find that the majority of people stare at foreigners even in the big cities, Older generations seem to despise foreigners for some reason.

omg, this is so true! my husband who is polish actually just wanted to come up to them and just smack their face! its really rude of them to stare like that. next time i fly there, i will try and embarass a few. seriously, it is so unhospitable.

why do you think Polish people would be bewildered by foreigners?

they just are. i visited gdansk more than six times already in a span of one year. they still are, very much bewildered. that is, considering gdansk is a proper city - not a village, mind you..... hmmmm, maybe because my skin and hair colour is to die for. well, YOU CANT HAVE IT! =P

Life / Are foreigners welcome in Poland? [267]

Life / Are foreigners welcome in Poland? [267]

but I did get a lot of stares.

I KNOW! they totally love to do that!

I had a Chinese couple gossip in front of me in Polish, although in an Irish accent.

WTF! that is so freakin strange! lmao

People were really friendly towards me and i didn't notice people staring at me too much. When they stare they are just really curious about where you from and such.

from my experience, they dont care however long they want to stare at you - so freakin rude! they stare at you like, you're from another galaxy - not planet - galaxy. one time we went outside gdynia, in a small village, to visit my aunt in-law. we had a guest, a middle-aged woman - she was already sitting in front of me, about two feet away, AND SHE WAS STILL STARING AT ME! how rude is that??????

News / Do Poles in Poland really feel betrayed because there won't be any US Shield? [288]

Instead exactly the opposite happened - Polish governments begging on their knees for the Shield to be installed here, and the US governments spitting in our faces and wiping the floor with us. It was extremely humiliating, m

very true.
