Language / Cult statements in the Polish language [31]

While Benny Hill was extremely sophisticated :):):)

Very. Fluent in several languages and quite a bon viveur.

Sophisticated enough to hit on the idea of comedy sketches so basic that even foreigners could understand them.

Stanisław Bareja

I don't generally think much of the level of comedy and humour in Poland (or anywhere else on mainland Europe; it's just so unsophisticated) however Stanisław Bareia was good. He caught the absurdities of the time just right.

About the cloakroom attendant, it's just about possible to imagine one saying that now. 20 years ago, even more so.

Off-Topic / Moderators on PF are breaking the law: not only they can reported for it, but fines apply [96]

reported for crying and moaning like a b*tch

I can't figure out what he's on about.

Especially when he mentions "lefties"? If anything the forum is infested by righturds.

Is he objecting to seeing things he disagrees with? What a snowflake...

And I've no idea what this means: "structural laws of forum management that apply on internet".

News / Polish PM Tusk- dictator or not? What Poles think? [455]

Labour, not 'Labor'. They aren't Seppos.

The EU? I doubt it. Barring some unforeseen crisis, the EU would have to change before that happened. There will be closer links though.

News / What will Britain's Labor Coup mean for Poland? [100]

But if it not then you get something as in the current USA, two hostile halves, a split people....

Fortunately we've avoided that, despite right wing groups (funded by state entities in r*SSia and private entities in America) doing their best to create division.

have to represent an alot broader spectrum of opinions!

That's basically true,

One reason I like our very old fashioned voting system is that it keeps minor parties mostly out and means that the main parties have to be quite broad in approach.

The Labour Party is made up of a broad membership structure of Branches (especially in the northern industrial areas) which cover a council ward (a community of a few thousanfpd) which each send delegates to the constituency party which covers an electoral district of about 70,000 people. They vote for delegates to the NEC (national executive committee) which runs the party. As well, there are the Trade Unions which are affiliated to the party and make up part of its structure, and special interest groups (about 7 or 8) which members can join if they wish. All these send delegates to the annual conference where the party's policies are made.

are no vote winner in Germany.

Where I'm from (you can compare it to the Ruhr Valley albeit neglected by successive right wing governments who fear us) it's always solid Socialist.

western left parties

Don't assume the Labour Party in the U.K. is anything like those. It's not a party of ideologues.

Well....since 1989 all western Lefties

That doesn't mean very much, however you'll doubtless be relieved to hear that the Labour Party doesn't have flags of Mao or Guevara. They were communists. We aren't.

It's the only alternative to Capitalism there is!

It isn't. There are mixed economies where private capital is allowed and these tend to be the most liveable countries in the world.

Socialism is only the pre-step to Communism

For communists. You're mistaking mainland European absolutism, something that on right or left brings certain countries down again and again.

ration cards or have to eat zoo animals

Not that capitalism has ever existed side by side with poverty and hunger, eh...

those who want to cull Capitalism think so.

Who thinks that? Not any of the Labour Party.

a better, viable option till now...it somehow always ends in Socialism

Socialism is the better option and shouldn't be compared to communism, a very different thing, one beloved of some mainland European absolutists.

books by Marx

We aren't a Marxist party. Do not compare us with your own political crazies on the right or the left.

enjoy" the alternative for half a century,

Did you think that the only alternative to unrestricted capitalism is totalitarian Eastern European oppression?

economically he is a globalist

As is almost everybody. Certainly all main parties, as well as the fringe parties on the right. Nevertheless, as a party we ar far less globalist than the alternatives.

And Corporatism sucks badly

Something we've found out to our cost and are moving away from. As for capitalism, it has a role however it needs to exist with strong controls.

The steam engine? :)
I'll give you football, though...

Didn't the Incas or Aztecs invent that and played with human heads.

We did invent engines powered by steam, and computers, trains, jet engines, electric motors, antibiotics, chocolate bars, submarines, television, telephones, telescopes, the World Wide Web, hollow pipe drainage, incandescent lighting, the fax machine, bicycles with rear wheel pedal drive, traffic lights, fingerprint forensics, anglepoise lamps, lithium batteries, SMS text messages, fire extinguishers, pencils, toothbrushes and ibuprofen.

That's just a few, barely scraping the surface.

Nobody, but plenty of Socialists in there.

I would hope that every single member is a Socialist since we are a Socialist party. There are a few in the party close to bring Social Democrats however all are Socialist.

there.(The entry point to Communism

Really? No. Not at all.

Is capitalism an entry point to fascism? Actually, don't answer that...

there are no Communists in the Labour party

Can you name any?

Either you are very naive

So who in the parliamentary party do you think is a communist?

Momentum

Not part of the Labour Party.

A London thing and an attempt at entryism. As you probably know, we expelled their ringleaders.

Is that why you moved to Poland

Did you think I'm from London?

Some of the Labour Parties members are though

None are.

Kier Starmer claims to be a Socialist.

Keir Starmer? Yes, he's a Socialist, albeit a rather moderate one. A good thing since the U.K. has just elected a Socialist party to govern for the next decade or so...

what communism meant

They're not about Communism though, are they?

James Connell wasn't a Communist. The words are beautiful.

And the voters chose that party with a massive supermajority.

How quaint, sweet Cherry pie.

What, in your pathetic little opinion, is a 'hand out'?

income and savings do you plan to hide

Can people hide income and savings where you're from? Perhaps when you're an adult you'll be able to try it yourself. In the U.K. though, it's a bit harder since salaries go into people's bank accounts.

Davos

What does that reference mean to you?

Loiner

A out of date nickname for a football team in a city I'm not from?

Weird.

In Moscow's vaults its hymns were sung

Good that you've quoted out party anthem in full.

Interesting that you highlight Moscow in bold. It was written in 1889. Perhaps you'd spent more studying rather than eating cakes and making anonymous phone calls to people on PF you'd have known that.

Wonderful news today.

For a moment, I thought it said Labour Coop which appears on the voting form in some constituencies where the MP or candidate is a member of both Labour and Coop.

People forget about the Coop Party whose members are usually all also part of the Labour Party. I'm in it too but more out of habit; but don't get involved.

Macron and the far left socialist globalists

He's a centrist rather than a Socialist and very much not a globalist, but don't mind the details or truth.

He was decimated in the elections

They haven't finished yet and the second round may well be different.

Study / Which is better, Nicolaus Copernicus Medical University or Wroclaw Medical University? [12]

Very true.

And it's just an easier place, better infrastructure, very different people and easier to be foreign.

A bit more expensive but not crazily so and going to Toruń might feel a bit like stepping into the past.

That's not always a bad thing, but not necessarily how every younger person would want to spend 5 years.
