News / THE ARMY OF POLAND - THE REALITY [493]

Until the first F-35s arrive

Russians and their Novichoks say that they are fighting NATO but better NATO stay out of the conflict. Would be funny to see strikes against RU refineries by F35 which Russia can't even detect.
It's 2024 outside, and Poland is still clinging to its Soviet rust buckets.

As with tanks, logistics of keeping multiple fighter types operational will eventually be too much, sanity will prevail, and all these Migs will be eventually delivered to Ukraine.
When it comes to tanks, due to impulse buying, Poland ended up with T-72M, PT-91, Abrams, Leopard 2 and South Korean K2. MoD people on arms fair shows were like kids in a candy store.

Good thing that Poland sold well maintaned T-62 and T-55A to various African nations in the 90's, where these distinguished machines got a second life liberating good black people from bad black people.

T-72M were transferred to Ukraine in 2022, and I believe most of PT-91 are currently liberating Kursk People's Republic.

Otherwise - maintenance teams in armored brigades would go insane.

News / Is NORD STREAM dangerous for Poland's natural enviroment? [540]

Our safety is best assured by the weakness of our both historical opponents.

Sure, Germany is currently our ally in NATO, but they were always a shady one, doing deals with our greatest foe.

So, from Polish perspective weak Germany and weak Russia are preferable to strong Germany and strong Russia.

History / 20 years of Poland in the EU. [317]

Jon has become a defender of the European Union even though he does not live in it,

It is easy to see something through rose tinted glasses if you do not have to deal with it on daily bases.
Korvinus complains about this Union even though his homeland benefits

When Poland singed up for EU it was just an economic union. Now we get all these ridicules woke regulation pushed down our throats.
It is high time for Polexit, asap.

No, they are litter. Do try to pay attention.

litter
there I usually see them
Suffer how?

Getting my blood pressure up every time I try to open bottle of mineral water while having to pull and twist in order to make a cap go away.

They are; you just don't notice them.

So these are irelevent.
Sadly, all too many people don't.

So? I am to suffer because of them?
however that's a national rather than an EU thing as far as I know

Untill our EU overlords decide otherwise.
and cause problems too

This nonsense solved a real problem, it made money switch hands between the right people.

You don't lose them and they don't end up littering the streets.

It is not like the caps are all over the streets and I have never lost a one.
These bottlecaps are so obviously and patently stupid.

I'm surprised the EU hasn't mandated a cut in CO2 in carbonated drinks to combat climate change.

Yes they'll be less fizzy, but think about the climate!

Another genius EU regulation. Whoever came up with those new bottle caps should be shot, together with everyone who supported that regulation. It costs more to produce. It annoys customers. It doesn't solve any real problem.

News / How will Poland be affected by WW3 which has now started [559]

By attacking Russia, official Poland practically openly declared war to Serbia.

lol. Poles and Russians hated each other long before us joining the NATO. We've been fighting since the early 16th century. Even when Russians finally subjugated us we fought stubbornly to free ourselves from their autocratic grasp. If there is any tradition between our nations, it's one of mutual hostility.

Nothing is above Sarmatia ie Slavia.

I know it may be incomprehensible to a Serb, but no one, no matter the blood and race, is obligated to love Russians.

Love, friendship and loyalty needs to be earned by deeds and Russians never did anything to earn it, always obsessed with grabbing more land and subjugating their neighbours.

I an curious, if Serbia joins the EU or we were told , " Serbia will be joining the EU in the next 14 months " would you support Russia invading Serbia and annexing it like with Ukraine?

Putin could easily prevent that by calling for negotiations tomorrow and withdrawing Russian troops back to pre-invasion positions.

But he refuses to because if he does, he'll look weak. And the horde will not abide a weak khan.

History / Why American military aid to Europe and Poland is important to America itself? [227]

Poland is investing mostly in artillery and armor.

Even if USA would make decision immediately - it will still take 6 weeks for the troops to arrive to the frontline.

They may as well not bother - as after first week it will be obvious if planes parked currently on unsinkable aircraft carrier "Britain" will be enough to deprive Russian ground forces of air support all across continental Europe.

History / Ghetto Uprising better known than Warsaw Uprising? [111]

Once up there, ask 200,000 Poles who died for shlt if they still feel it was worth it.

niga wtf even
niga the actual Warsaw uprising's (and AK's general military operation in Poland at the time) purpose was exactly to wrestle control from the Germans in Poland and make sure the Soviets wouldn't claim control over the clay through "liberation"

but why am i even trying to talk to Novichok again

History / Ghetto Uprising better known than Warsaw Uprising? [111]

Their objectives were achievable. AK's objectives were not.

So it depends on the result? So, Confederacy definately did the stupid thing by trying to break away from the Union - because after the defeat the South not only had to abandon slavery anyway, but also suffered lots of death and destruction as a result?
The modern Bulgarian founding myth is the April Uprising, which failed. A small scale affair, middle class youths with their personal guns, capturing police stations and declaring independence. Everyone involved was killed. Still worth doing. Everything that followed, started there.
Or the Winter War, where Fins fought, and lost. Still worth doing, and still the glue that holds that country together, and what foreigners recognize in the Fins as a people and a nation.
I see you too would've surrendered France when the Germans got near Paris, to avoid damage to the city.
And Poland disappeared from the map, to reappear how many years later? Fighting a lost struggle, that has been lost for over a century. Come on.

History / Use of the word "lord" in Polish. [11]

Since all the Polish nobles have been supposed to be equal "panowie bracia", there was never a graduation of such titles in Poland.
Lord, sir, master, mister, it all translates as "pan"

History / Ghetto Uprising better known than Warsaw Uprising? [111]

The Red Army loved the Warsaw Uprising.

Europe's founding myth, the original stand of Europeans against Asians, is the battle of Thermopylae. A stand that failed. Still worth standing, even in failure. Still influential on our identity.
So the end result isn't what determines if it was worth to fight. If you fight for a good cause, its worth to fight, win or lose. That's the moral high ground.
And even in utilitarian, consequentialist terms, losing a fight can help establish deterrence. Fighting the bully and losing still lets the bully know, there's no free lunch here. He'll have to fight for it. So he'll probably look elsewhere next time.
