This poor young man was the victim of a fame-seeking and homophobic mother who decided she'd rather castrate her feminine son than risk him being gay (that's speculation but there's a _lot_ of evidence to that end). The vagino plasty was botched partly because his penis was so small thanks to years of hormone treatment so that he never really went through normal puberty.

With appropriate therapy he could have been a reasonably happy feminine young man (gay or maybe bisexual according to a recent episode) and not a eunuch with an eating disorder... (exulansic speculates this his weight gain is related to the surgeries which produced an effect that mimics prader willi syndrome

I don't know the specifics but I do know the early communists were very much into "free love" and dismantling the idea of families and after a very short period of time realized that was a terrible mistake and the USSR became extremely sexually conservative.... on the surface at least. I have no issue with adult transitioners who aren't deluded about what they are doing. There has always been a tiny minority of people whose best chance at happiness has been living socially as the opposite sex (quite distinct from gay men and lesbians) and it makes sense to make a place for them.

In America it refers to what you sit on only, not the room. And 'go to the toilet' directly refers to defecation (not going to a room to do so).

When I was growing up 'toilet water' was sometimes used as a joke, to indicate a character in a movie or tv show was unsophisticated (because it sounds like water from the toilet)

restroom is a euphemism of course and implies a public facitlity (bathroom at home, restroom outside the home)


We love words of French origin although some of the meanings get bent beyond recognition. In America, in dining the 'entree' refers to the main course... which is weird.
