France is howling and squealing that their cheating tender bids for power stations are being taken seriously and the contracts are being enforced; it's costing them billions. They should have bid a price they could realistically do the job for, rather than underbid and hopoe for handouts later. Micron is weeping now.

At least German companies were sensible enough to sell off their rail/bus franchises quickly and at a loss, fire sale prices. The unfortunate buyers are finding not only that the contracts won't autorenew as they'd hoped and in fact franchises are being cancelled when they don't meet the service level agreements that they signed up to.


We in coal mining communities didn't. She was very pro-single market though.

It's actually written into the EU constitution; clauses that favour certain countries over others. Of course Italy is a major EU country too so it's hard to see why its a problem for them.

Perhaps they think that they should buy but not be bought. I remember howls of outrage in the media there when a UK insurance company bought a German one. They seemed to take it as an insult that the company sale was that way round and not the other.

And their afd fascists must be seething about this; Scholtz certainly is.

You can in the UK, (it's happened several times over the past few years) and in any case, I can't see why any government would refuse a business based in a friendly country.

It seems Germany is fine about companies there taking over businesses in other countries but somehow against companies in other countries taking over ones in Germany.

This reminds me of Micron who helps French businesses take over ones elsewhere but blocked the purchase of a yoghurt factory by a European company on grounds of 'national security'

sounds like you're on the 'emergency code'. you shouldn't worry about that; we've all been on it. same with a temporary code; it's still tied to your paymets and because of the three letters, they won't forget you. (26x26x26 is 17,576 and i doubt there's that many people in the world with the exact same name and birth date as you who happened to be working in the uk on those dates).

citizenship, place of residence, right to work etc aren't relevant to this; it's just a number to record ni payments under. worth doing since it will help keep track of any payments made. keep your p60 though. payslips help too, however the p60 is a sort of annual payslip and is useful.

You mean NI number? They didn't fill it in because P45 forms don't always include the NI number. They're about income tax codes rather than NI contributions. They only include them sometimes.
However that's for the convenience of future employers and not mandatory.

It shouldn't be a problem, and your NI number is always on your P60 since that records Income Tax and NI paid in the previous 12 months.

There's plenty already on the internet about how to use them, including fora. Have a look on YouTube; there are some good videos.

They aren't hard to use and aren't expensive. They work very well and also have a beneficial effect on circulation and a few things other than oral matters.

Many dentists say that if they had to choose between cleaning teeth and using a a water pick, they'd choose the pick.

In the UK, we have it; I've never needed to use it. My UK dentist and my Polish dentist are both friends.
