A real loss. My fave comedy actor, Stanisław Tym, died at 87. He played the main role in the cult comedy Teddy Bear, made in 1980, which mocked communist ideology, economy and social relations. It is the best Polish film which I would take with me onto a desert island if I had to stay there forever. The film contains scenes and quotes which have become the cultural heritage of the nation.

Today afternoon, we had just set on our return journey home after doing the usual shopping in the nearby town when suddenly I noticed sth really peculiar - 3 young men were running along the road, stopping and taking photos of the still sunlit sky and then running again to another location, probably to catch the best views. I got the camera and my wife took photos, too, coz we were convinced the view they were hunting for was some rare eclipse. Coming home I found out the commotion was caused by Starlink satelites.
The Starlink space train will once again be visible over Poland. It is the G9-14 series, which has been flying over our country since Thursday. Although the weather is not spoiling us, it is worth trying to catch this small fragment of the mega constellation of satellites that crosses the sky above our heads.

Life / I saw Polish nationalism today [263]


I saw it today in the news.

Janusz Waluś, the murderer of an anti-apartheid activist in South Africa, landed on Saturday morning at Warsaw Chopin Airport after 30 years of serving in a local prison.
Waluś was a right-wing extremist and former truck driver who was convicted in South Africa of the murder of Chris Hani, a communist activist fighting apartheid. He was originally sentenced to death, but after its abolition it was commuted to life imprisonment. In 2022, the Constitutional Tribunal of South Africa decided to conditionally release Waluś, the deadline for which expired this week.

Guess which party`s prominent politician welcomed Waluś at the airport??

Yes, he is. He is allowed to charge you 1 million PLN.
But you are allowed to refuse that payment. Then the court will decide if you need to pay it. I hope you had taken the photo of the damage before the door was replaced.


Hmm, it doesn`t hold water. How could he replace the door without your consent?? It is illegal for the owner to enter the rented property, let alone with workers.

Roma population in Poland is OK except a few psycho traditionalists who try to keep up their old customs though they are against the Polish law.
E.g, each year, I can read about 3-4 cases of abduction of a Roma female by males of whom one desires to marry her. Such abductions were practised centuries ago on a wide scale. Today, it regularly happens that Roma women openly reject their admirers.

Hey, guys, abduction aka kidnapping might cost you 5 years in prison, on condition the victim is unharmed coz then you will get more.

Two men aged 49 and 31 are suspected of kidnapping a 33-year-old woman on a street in Ostróda (Warmia-Masuria Province). The police received a report that the perpetrators had dragged her into a car and driven away. All the police officers from the local police station rushed to help. One of the patrols stopped the car in which the suspects and the kidnapped woman were.
Fortunately, the woman did not suffer any injuries. After the procedures were performed on her, she returned to her loved ones.
The suspects spent the night in police custody. On Friday, they were charged with depriving a person of their liberty, which carries a sentence of up to five years in prison. The police also asked the prosecutor overseeing the case to file a motion with the court to apply a preventive measure in the form of temporary arrest.

We have been using the same one for 21 years now. I remember the purchase of that German made tree in German owned Praktiker DYI store like today. It cost 300 PLN and it was worth this money hundredfold because it is still in excellent shape. Germans don`t produce such quality stuff anymore. ::(:(:((:(:.
