Life / Babcia or Busha - any social class difference? [359]

doesn't it actually depend on babcia and what she wants to be called.

i mention it because my grandma nearly gave me a thick ear for calling her granny.

Life / 3 reasons why you hate Poland. [1049]

- help ladies put on coats
- hold car doors for ladies

this sort of thing happens when one has a function to attend. not the weekend shopping. i've seen it as much in the uk as Poland.

The information that you are giving makes it impossible to find her anyway.

most people can be found. it just takes time.

There will be a big reward for finding this person.

use facebook etc and then when you've found them give the reward money to charity.

UK, Ireland / Why Poles will never belong in England [283]

You really think the main reason is poverty?

i don't remember saying the riots had anything to do with poverty.

nor do i remember saying ethnic background had anything to do with it.

and especially i didn't use the word 'realist'

next time u misquote i'll bin the whole post.

Genealogy / Polish looks? [1410]

Wroclaw said many Polish people had a somewhat different shape to their skull, that shape affects a person's looks.

i'm coming round to the idea/theory of the way babies/toddlers are on their backs for too long and kept in baby buggies/child car seats for too long.

i think delph' suggested, in another thread, that youngsters here spend a lot of time in buggies.

anyway, whether it's true or not that modern life can cause flat spots, i never would have thought it.

Can it affect a brain if it can affect a scull?

no idea. the sites i checked didn't mention it. but there is a history of some cultures, through history, deliberately changing the head shape of children.

it's like skysoulmate suggested earlier.

in a text i read, all sorts of things can affect head shape and the list even included child seats in cars.

Has anyone considered the possibility that the culture determines the head shape? Bear with me, It is a well known fact that the bones in a newborns skull have not fused and as such different ways of taking care of babies can greatly influence the eventual shape of an individuals head.

skysoulmate mentioned it earlier. i did some checking and it seems there is something in this.

it's also said that there is no distinctive head shape within a culture.

yet i still maintain that i can see a difference.

O.K. Wroclaw so it is merely the flat back of the head that you believe distinguishes Polish head shape.

there is less of a roundedness at the back of the head. is what i agree to.

some may mention nose shape, others mention high cheekbones as defining slavic features. i would just add the above.

Do you really expect me to read 31 pages of this thread and to somehow know which description of the distinctive Polish head-shape is the one you ascribe to?

i said

there are plenty of others on the forum who've mentioned head shape.

i have no idea which thread or threads it's mentioned in. i simply say that others have mentioned the flat back of the head. and i agree that it's noticeable.

So Wroclaw you cannot fully describe this distinctive Polish head shape you posit?

like i said, it's all been said before and can be found in the threads.
