Life / How are electric cars doing in Poland? [413]

@johnny reb

Not only the lack of infrastructure but consumer buying trends as well. If a upper middle class/wealthy pole is going to spend 50k 70k 100k on a car they tend to go German - bmw, Mercedes and Porsche. The small Porsche Macans and bmw 5s are especially popular. British cars esp jaguar and land rover are becoming more popular too and I've seen a few Bentley continentals as well.

Typically the hybrid cars or smaller cars like Toyota auris and the skodas fords etc are purchased by middle class people who can't quite afford a car over 40k 50k plus. Although what I've noticed is that the taxis vary like crazy. In the us there's pretty much only like 4 or 5 models that taxi drivers typically use where in Poland they use everything from the cheap Romanian dacias to Audi wagons to Mercedes s class (my fav daily driver car). There are a lot of taxis that are hybrids though esp Toyota auris.

In Russia the guys love their hummers lol esp in a bright color. Gas is super cheap there so people don't really pay attention to fuel efficiency.

News / Poland has accepted over a million Ukrainian refugees. Why does the EU keep telling propaganda about Poland? [304]

@kondzior

Finally reporting which isn't sugar coating the problems of radical Islam in Europe and around the world. These people spit on your free speech, lgbt rights, women's rights and all the other things which have made European society progressive. They take advantage of your naivety and generosity. You think you can change the attitude of these people but you can't. Yes there are worldly sophisticated and educated Muslims who understand and respect European traditions and values but the vast majority of these new comers clearly arent in that category. These people don't want democracy and equality they want sharia, segregation of men and women in society, and for Europe to become a land of Islamic tradition and culture.

The sad thing is when Islam first began it the Muslim world was considered to be the most progressive and scientifically advanced land in the world. Christian Jewish and Muslim scholars studied and researched together. From this came many Arabic words in English like algebra and alchemy. In fact am Arab I believe named moates came up with the foundations of the scientific method around this time. These people were ahead of Europeans in terms of knowledge and technology. WTF HAPPENED?!?! Its like instead of advancing science, architecture and all these other disciplines including human rights they did a 180. In the Koran it stated to treat people of the book as equals meaning christians and Jews. Why do they ignore these passages? Not only that they kill and murder other Muslims. Try being a metal guitarist or a satirist in Egypt... Good luck

History / Can anyone from Poland tell me about Auschwitz and The Ghetto? [625]

[moved from]

@Lyzko

If there were only more Zionists who thought like you..

I was actually surprised to learn that many in the orthodox community are supportive of Palestinian rights. Some even go as far as saying israel shouldn't exist (which I personally don't agree with) but their position comes more from the Torah rather than geopolitics.

News / Poland has accepted over a million Ukrainian refugees. Why does the EU keep telling propaganda about Poland? [304]

No one said they're refugees. And even if the specific word refugees were to be used wed still meet our obligations. There's around 6k Ukrainian refugees. Add that to the georgians, chechens, and few Iraqi families and were already right around the 7k mark the eu pushed on us anyway.

Exactly. The Ukrainians are workers. They're not welfare leeches who ignite entire neighborhoods murder children and cause a state of emergency like in france. The ones in the east mainly went to west Ukraine to escape the violence. Yes some people from the east did go to poland - these are the refugees fleeing bombs- we took in 6k from just that one group alone... Plus over 1 mil economic migra ts.. No matter how you look at it we've met our goal of solidarity.

Notice the language has changed from the eu lambasting Poland for not taking in migrants as opposed to refugees. Everyone knows the vast majority of the people who came from Africa and the middle east are not refugees but rather economic migrants. That's why now the term migrant has been used interchangeably with refugee and also as an all encompassing term.

Jesus Christ....

You'd think with the European emphasis on women's rights and encouragement to join the workforce, be educated, independent, etc that alone wouldn't mesh well. Let alone other things like gay rights or laws on inciting hatred. Yet these migrants appear to be protected from higher on up and tend to only be prosecuted when they really cross the line I.e

@spiritus

Poland already has taken in her fair share of people who are actually fleeing war and poverty from the Ukraine Georgia Chechnya etc. We've also taken in Iraqi Christians who have it worse than anyone in Iraq.

Were tapped out. Tell other countries to take in a mix of 2 million foreign migrants and refugees in a 2 3 year period. Poland has every right to pursue things that are in line with out own self interests. We won't be bullied though and told what to do by a foreign power. We already had a taste of that one too many times and won't let it happen again.

If it were up to me I'd welcome hordes of the most educated technical people from all over the world. But when countries tell you who to take in and how many it degrades human to cattle. A country and its citizens have a say in what happens within their boundaries. That is why we have the un to discuss such issues but also for countries at large to respect each others sovereignty.

@jon357

Well we shall see what the governments do. Either way they need to get to the bottom of it. I doubt she was raped though at least as a young child. By Isis? Definetely... I think she was probably just some loner who got radicalized online and persuaded to go as several western teen girls have the difference is they have up surrendered and are currently in jail or awaiting whatever punishment society and a judgel in the West saw fit for them to atone. Nonetheless it was still her decision to go plus the fact that she was there till the last pockets raises all sorts of questions. For example if thousands of yazidi and other women managed to break free why not here when Isis was crumbling? Also, if she killed people w Isis that means she is surely crazy and ought to be at least put in an insane asylum.

So a 16 year old German girl was captured in Mosul hiding in Isis territory. Finally the Iraqi army grew their balls back and lo and behold they find this teenage snow bunny.

The debate is now should germany take her should she go to prison be hanged?

I say give her a shot of sodium pentathol and interrogate her to find out if she killed ppl. If yes life in prison. She was an impressionable teen and got there at age 14 so perhaps her being raped by a buncha random bearded dudes while she was there and a few years in prison is enough.. IF she in fact was used as a 'wife' and didn't see the front lines.

If we had a decent sample of silesian DNA we could answer this question

I didn't consider that maf. Usually when I hear the word robust I think of fat. Kind of like when I was a chubby lil kid they made my jean sizes in "husky' lol

Idk about men but I believe dutch women are the tallest or at least most long legged

I do agree though I find eastern European women esp polish and Czech most attractive in general and will most likely marry within my own culture and nationality but that doesn't mean I don't find Brazilian Columbian Swedish Aussie etc girls fine as hell. I even find certain afro carribean girls attractive.

Crow its not so cut and dry. People and cultures have been intermingling since pre history. You can't really say one nationality is nicer than another. Physically stronger or faster perhaps. For example Europeans tend to be better at sports involving weight lifting while Africans tend to be better at sports involving sprinting. But again that doesn't mean though that every African is faster than every European or every European stronger than every african

Its not like some huge cemetery its maybe 15 square feet in total. Basically there's a short old wooden decrepit bridge you cross over and there's a raised mound which supposedly has a mass of bodies in it surrounded by a small moat. At the top of the mound are a few stones w weird writing but one does have a Celtic style cross that is taller than any headstone. My cousin stated teenagers come there to drink and smoke pot and occasionally some strange people chant. He found it while jogging or hiking he's one of those super health conscious vegetarian types. I took him out to eat and a lady gave him chicken rosol despite ordering a vegetarian one poor guy nearly threw up and was wiping his tongue w napkins. I told him too bad it didn't happen in America bc we could've rounded up a bunch of vegans, protested and sued the place so he wouldn't have to worry about how he's going to pay tuition for his bachelors. Nonetheless in poland no one would care lol.

Also I do know some pagan tribes in eastern Europe buried their dead facing east not all were cremated.

The areas of silesia use to be german before ww2 and a bit afterward. Now its changed tho of course as the Germans moved west and poles took over those lands. There are still some poles tho that don't regard silesians as poles tho

I'm not sure... but I can tell you there are still some old monuments in Wroclaw and the surrounding areas that are in German.

I was at a pagan cemetery on the outskirts that dates back some 800 900 years if not more. Most people aside from locals don't know about it as it's rather hidden in the woods but its a short 15-20 minute walk from the side of the road. It's surrounded by a moat and has a few burial stones some with what looked like runic inscriptions. I originally thought it was Norse or something but it could be maybe an ancient German language.

News / Poland has accepted over a million Ukrainian refugees. Why does the EU keep telling propaganda about Poland? [304]

@Crow

We already know that EU doesn't care about the millions of Ukranians as well as the several thousand Chechens and Georgians Poland took in... When the EU says 'Poland must take in migrants! Poland must abide by the migrant quotas!' they really mean 'Muslim and African migrants who have their hands open all the time but offer nothing themselves.

Personally, if I were the leader of a country I wouldn't mind letting in migrants from all over the world as long as they can demonstrate that they will be a net benefit to the society and adapt to our laws and our customs. The hundreds of thousands of migrants, mainly young men, do not seem to fit into this category. Of course not all are not terrorists, but the mass groping/sexual assaults, the huge number of participants in riots esp in France where entire neighborhoods go ablaze, and similar actions make one wonder why are more of these types of people being allowed in?

@mafketis

Most moderate Muslims still support segregation of women and sharia tho.

Ill share a video as a source as soon as I have time to find it. Basically its an imam asking a rather large congregation of mostly young men and women questions like who is a muslim, who here considers themselves to be a moderate muslim and not fanatical, who here support segregation of men and women, who here supports sharia - amputation for theft etc

If we could've only had educated dare I say it even liberal Muslims in Europe we wouldn't be dealing with the rapes the explosions the attacks the no go special urban zones and migrants destroying trucks in Calais etc ... Shame that the British had to pay for a wall to be built on French soil

Ya they call that wax or dab. Not a big fan of it. It gets as high as 97 99% thc but its a bit overpowering. Even if you're used to smoking regularly and someone offers you a dab you'll feel it instantly

@Lyzko
Marijuana is meant to treat or cure diseases but rather relieve symptoms. For example with cancer it gives people an appetite and has less side effects than strong opiods for pain relief. Also cbd oils and concoctions which don't get you high have been shown to be extremely effective against seizures.

@Joker
Or leave it in the oven too long n burn it lol. I'm not a big fan of vapes we had a volcano in college but it made it taste all earthy and different. I like papers and cigarillos I go old school lol.

Yeah there's a lot of corporations popping up in the industry. Its a great field to be in and surprisingly a lot of women are taking part. It would sure be fun to work at such a place but like with anything you have to work hard if you want to be successful. Growing takes a looot of work and care. Stoners have a lazy stereotype but man some of these young guys are serious as hell about It.

Personally I think it'll b a while before its legal in poland. Now its with a doc recommendation from what I believe but zus won't pay for it you have to pay out of pocket. Poland is very conservative when it comes to drugs in general even weed. Alcohol is extremely excepted although people binge less than they did back in the day. Also mow people drink imports instead of just vodka. N e way it may be legal recreationally eventually but I doubt it will happen any time soon. Po I believe tried a sort of decrim program but it didn't rly take off to my understanding.former rapper liroy also lobbies for it. He was a politician in one of the houses but idk if he still is. The attitude is now where some people smoke when They're teens and young adults and maybe once in a while with friends as they get older.

In a ton of places though weed is either legal or technically illegal but unenforceable: portugal, India uruguay, afganistan and also pretty popular apparently in Iran and north Korea as well as some m.e. countries. In others though like Malaysia Singapore Saudi Kuwait penalties are suuuuper strict

Id love to go to shivakrati- I'm prolly spelling that wrong but basically it's a festival for the God Shiva where masses of Hindus smoke ridiculous amounts of bud n hash

Glad to hear... In poland its not hard to find good bud or hash (more of the old school stoners preference) but you gotta know people... At least from my experience... Its not like us cities where dealers stand 24 hours a day announcing their wares (they yell rocks blows weed) to passerbys. There are certain spots in polish cities though where guys stand selling bud and whatnot but i personally wouldn't recommend buying from a person off the street or in the gypsy areas. Open air is declining its not like it was 10 years ago at least in my experience.. Find some college students and youngsters and ask them to hook you up. Even if they don't smoke they most likely know at least 1 dealer and will hook you up if you toss them a few bucks.

Also the laws are strict so I would highly recommend smoking in doors and not in public. And definitely don't go for a blunt/bowl cruise..

Back in the day some people in rural areas would grow weed but they used it as feed not to smoke

Also the quantities by which bud is sold differs than in the U.S. i.e. 5 gram bahs.. No one knows what an 8th is lol

Eh not exactly. Marijuana does have pain relieving attributes. But yes its nothing like the opium poppy and all its legal and illegal derivatives - codeine, morphine, opium, heroln, etc.

Many cancer patients and very sick people prefer marijuana over opiates (which are narcotics - marijuana is not) because it has far less side effects especially not giving a patient constipation and it boosts their appetite... Not to mention cbd which is wonderful in treating seizures.

Therrs so many wonderful uses for marijuana from industry - paper, rope, even people are experimenting with using it as a fuel, medical - relieves seizures far better than most medicines with far less side effects than like Xanax for example, appetite booster, pain reliever, glaucoma treatment, and its even helped people get off hard drugs, economic - brings in hundreds of millions in tax revenue in places like colorado, etc etc. Plus recreationally its far safer and less harmful than other drugs including alcohol. Id take a room full of laid back stoned people than a room full of drunks - one is crying, another is vomiting, a third is picking fights, a fourth is making unwanted advances.... Screw that

Its too bad there's still many people who have a 1950s reefer madness type of view on marijuana. The fact is though marijuana has been used for tons of different reasons for thousands of years. There have been ancient bronze age discovering of smoking devices with residue still left on them.

What's wrong with marijuana? Its less far harmful than alcohol. When's the last time you've heard of someone having serious health problems because they smoke weed? When's the last time someone had to call an ambulance because they smoked too much? When's the last time someone got into a fist fight or assaulted a girl because they were super stoned?

Worst thing that happens if you smoke too much is you'll be super lazy, tired, and fall asleep.

Also no one goes to rehab for weed... You don't develop a physical dependence to marijuana or even much of a mental one unlike hard drugs I.e cocaine meth, mdma, amphetamines etc. The worst thing that will happen if your a regular smoker and quit all of a sudden is you may be a bit more anxious than usual for a few days.

There are several geoups in Czech like heady tours which will hook you up with some good nug and take you on tours aroud Prague. Im sure there's other ones in smaller cities though too. Its great for first time visitors.

I have to say that Prague is by far my favorite European city that I've visited thus far. Its so pretty very clean the people are super friendly the girls are drop dead gorgeous and not stuck up or scammers like in the square in poland.
